thank you princess and wow i thought i had it busy these last few weeks lol

had a grand total of 8 deliveries in as many days (so much for coming over space of 5-6 weeks) and in that delivery madness was a double bed, single bed, a cot bed, a 6 door 3 drawer wardrobe, fridge freezer and new buggy amoung other things!!!!

lol no wonder all us mums to be are stressed fate is playing games and testing us.....

Egg · 10/12/2007 20:26

princess we had our kitchen done when I was pg with DS. They finally did the finishing touches about 2 weeks before he was born. Thank god he wasn't early... I was getting stressed as wanted the house to myself to have huge lie ins and relax while on maternity leave. I ended up going over to my parents a lot just to escape from the builders.

alkar · 10/12/2007 20:32

Congratulations to Ladle, keep us informed of how they're doing x

Samsmam · 10/12/2007 20:35

Hi all, been away for a while due to no internet connection.

Congrats to ladle, little bundles here in time for christmas.

Things are going ok here, 29 weeks this Friday. Had my 4d scan on Friday and baby apparently weighs about 3lb. Started to really feel pregnant yesterday when I tried to go shopping and carry all the bags and walk with them!!

I've got lots of reading to catch up on with this thread so I'd better get reading........

pobletsmum · 10/12/2007 20:39

Ladlemumke - huge congratulations! I guess your girlies will be in hospital for some time? Very best wishes to you all!

Mini - well done for making it to 32wks - it will so much better for you being a hospital of your choosing when your babes arrive. Keep hanging on in there...

Hello to everyone else. I don't have much to report, just continuing heartburn/sickness, tiredness etc. plus backache the last couple of days, which pales into significance when I read all your news. I'll be back up to the hospital next week to discuss CS/natural birth options. Am feeling very anxious about it all, but have booked a doula to be at the birth if I don't have a CS.

I'm still keeping an eye on everyone here even if I don't post - please forgive me for not contributing more, I have just been feeling a bit miserable so don't want to be all doom & gloom. Chins up!

leggylil · 11/12/2007 06:42

ok it's 6.39 am and I am sitting here tense and in pain (no not with labour pains...though wish it was) I've got my scan at 1pm and I just dont feel up to traveling on the buses unfortunately have no choice.
Am gonna go for a soak in the bath see if that helps will let you all know how I get on at the hospital later, hopefully will have some news

Pk616 · 11/12/2007 08:21

Well I've seen every hour on the clock that passed last night! (I slept in between) I guess it's good pratice! It's worrying the pants of the oldest man though, bless him!
I was emptying the washing machine this morning and he ordered me to leave it and go back to bed....Ah, he can be sweet when he wants to be! I still emptied the machine though!

Leggy - gl @ the hospital.

Poblet - hey there lass! you can be all doom and gloom if you want to be, we don't mind. I'd like a doula because the oldest man is going to be a blubbering wreck and no use to anyone and I don't think my mom will turn up until it's all over, but we could never afford one so it's an army of me, the bairn, the randomly selected hospital midwife, and a flustered, shacking 42 year old boy!

Sams - Wow a 4D scan, bet that was cool! If you're going to do all the shopping you need to get one of those granny trollies! I've got one in fushia and black, it's not very glamorous but I just hold my head up high and get on with it! makes the whole shopping experience way easier, especially with a crutch in the other hand!

Princess - don't worry too much about your kitchen, if it is finished before the lo gets here, that's great, but if there are a few finishing touches left to be done everything will still be fine, you'll find a way to function around it and it shouldn't bother the baby at all!

lol i know how you feel pk about sleep pattern....most nights i seem to clock watch and if i am lucky enough to fall asleep am always up @ 2am with raging heartburn (got big box of rennies next to my pillow, they're a godsend lol) so spend next 30-60 mins trying to get that to ease off then get back to restless sleep.....

my ? is how do the men manage to sleep thru it all????
the tossing and turning, the twitching, pillow punching, kicking off the duvet/blanket etc etc and when they do finally wake up and ask how did we sleep, heaven forbid we tell them the truth cos they wouldn't believe us anyway and we still have to get on with the day to day stuff of running a home lol

Pk616 · 11/12/2007 09:08

leggy - have you tried the old sleeping on your side on a ramp made of pillows thing? It worked a treat up until a couple of weeks ago when I got too big to be comfortable any which wayI tried to sleep! Rennies don't touch my indigestion, Gaviscon advance is the only thing that goes any where near it but I must confess, the texture of the stuff leaves a little to be desired!
As for men sleeping through it all, I know! I can't get my head round it either! The oldest man is supposably the lightest sleeper on the planet! On his days off, especially in the summer, he's always waking at 6/7 and complaining that the sunlight woke him, but I'm in bed next to him all night long turning clumsily like an injured hippo, getting up for a pee 4/5 times a night, moving my massive stash of pillows around, turning him over because he snoring etc and he sleeps deeply through the whole lot!
I used to get up and get on the sofa and watch some labouring women on discovery H&H but DP told me off every morning when he found me there so now I just muddle through it!

leggylil · 11/12/2007 09:17

lmao glad to see am not alone and as for pillow thing been there tried that....hubby moaned constantly but with him doing shift work and having to work nights on occassion I told him my bed my body my rules lol
but like you said am too big to get comfy any which way, tho i dont watch tv (kids can be light sleepers and being hard of hearing i have to have tv on a bait louder than most ppl) I tend to spend A LOT
of time on the internet hell am on it morning noon and night lol

Pk616 · 11/12/2007 09:34

lol, the Tv watching was usually because I couldn't actually focus my eyes on anything else though and the sound was usually off for fear of waking the world with the sound of moaning women in american hospital wards! (plus I got some sick satisfaction out of watching women in pain, I used to laugh at the screamers and congratulate the quite patient ones!) I have tried the internet when I'm tired but it just gives me a massive headaches and makes me feel sick (I have a kind of light and tone sensitive dyslexia - SSS) so it's a no no, I'm still a bit of an addict though! I really have to pry myself off the seat to go and do some chores, and I take a lot of convincing!

Pk616 · 11/12/2007 10:29

Right, now is one of those chore moments, I've gotta go down the dreaded corner shop and buy DP some tobacco before I forget. (He surrendered his cash point card to me when he found out that I was pregnant, I guess he figures I'm more responsible or something, silly boy!)

OP posts:
leggylil · 11/12/2007 10:55

lol....thankfully i've always been in control of purse strings and as for going to the shop well i got my hubby well trained for that lol
mind you when I send him down to get me some 'munchies' he tends to go overboard, i'm talking 6/7 different packs of biscuits and 4/5 different multipacks of chocie bars (surprising I'm still in size 12 clothes -with exception to bump-)

Pk616 · 11/12/2007 11:08

I'm back and for my reward I'm tucking into a couple of lovely scones with clotted cream n strawberry jam, yum!

Hey leggy, you're surprised you're still a size 12...
...I'm way more surprised that I've dropped from a size 20 to a size 12! It's the bairn, she loves her mom so much that she's taken all the fat off me

OP posts:
leggylil · 11/12/2007 11:28

Pk616 · 11/12/2007 11:59

Ruva - sorry chick, I know nothing!

leggy - Soory! If it's any consellation, my extreamly well stocked kitchen looks devoid of eddible food most of the time, I'm a very faddy eater!

Pk616 · 11/12/2007 12:15

What would you do if you were the very shy one? Oh he needs to get over that!!

LOVEMYMUM · 11/12/2007 12:16

Ladle: Congratulations on your early Christmas presents. Welcome to the world Leo and Orly .

Blue: Oh dear, you really have had a rough time of it. Do you have people around to lend a hand?

Feeling queasy today. Am lactose intolerant so maybe it was the cheese i ate yesterday. Taken the day off work cos i was so tired this morning. DH rang in for me and boss still asked if i could come in for an hour. He said that maybe i would call when i woke up (to be polite to her), hang up and called her a stupid woman. Not long to go anyway - office shuts for Xmas and I'm not going back afterwards. Yay!

Pk616 · 11/12/2007 12:27

Love - Get well soon chick, you might only feel queasy but it's rotten way to feel all the same! You're boss sounds like a proper cow!

OP posts:
LOVEMYMUM · 11/12/2007 12:43

Boss just rang me and asked if i could come into today. I said i'm still queasy and woozy and combined with higher BP a few weeks ago, am not pushing it. She asked if i would work 2morrow (I work Mon, Tues and Thurs) and I said no but that i could do Friday. She was not a happy bunny but tough! (She had labour pains when she was at work!)
