Not very original, but the thread WAS becoming ridiculously big.

OP posts:

GLAMpresentsforMAMAplease · 21/12/2007 17:51

thanks merryberry too!!

turtledove23 · 21/12/2007 18:57

Glam...If I know you (and I do!) you will kick some ass and get what is yours. Now, however, is the time to enjoy Christmas. Especially before DD opens her present and the beeping noise drives you potty.

skidoodle · 22/12/2007 11:50

Glamma, so sorry to hear about your work situation. That is really poor treatment and I expect you will find that it's not as simple as your employer seems to be making out. I'm furious for you. What a horrible way to treat your staff.

Hope the cold gets better and have a lovely Christmas and don't worry about such things until you can get back nice and energised in the new year.

surprisedandexcited - the Isle of Wight seems exotic to me. I guess it depends on your frame of reference.

fitnforty - omg I'm having a belfast baby. I wonder what kind of accent it will have with no belfast parents. perhaps it will soon be yelling at french waiters in a strong belfast accent - "sityeeation" it will say a lot.

congratulations married timmy, hope married life is treating you well. 2007 has been a very auspicious year to get married . I guess your 1st day of marriage is involving a lot less booze than mine, but I'm sure it's just as special.

happy christmas everybody, this may my last time online until the new year, certainly for a few days.

it's been fun so far and we have the most pregnant times to come.

surprisedandexcitedmum · 22/12/2007 17:39

Have just had my 3d scan, have put some of the some of the pictures on my blog

They aren't as exciting as Brazilianmums, there was one of her poking her tongue out but it is a little scary! DP always says they look like they are stuffed in a pint glass!

Anyway, hope you are all reclining with feet up like I am.

Quick question: Am I the only one who is planngn a couple of tipples on Christmas day, I'm so excited I know what I'm going to drink and when!

3madboys · 22/12/2007 17:51

oh yes i will be drinking a little for xmas and new year, and also my bday in jan

i went out for a meal this week actually and had a half a pint of stella it was lovely, however some people on the table next to us started saying how preg women shouldnt drink etc i was never mind the fact that they were all pissed and being extremely rowdy, they were blowing up balloons and then letting go of them so they flew around the restaraunt ffs. which given that i had the boys with me, who i made sure were being well behaved, really fucked me off, if my kids one of whom isnt yet three can sit and behave in a restaraunt then grown men and women should be able to.

surprisedandexcitedmum · 22/12/2007 17:58

Some people are so rude!

Glad to hear I'm not alone in the odd little tipple.

Glammama, been meaning to congratulate you on being so calm, I wasn't anywhere near so calm when I thought they might end my contract in December instead of Jan. As you say, I too believe things happen for a reason: I think my scare was to galvanise DP and I into more detailed financial planning.

MarchMum · 22/12/2007 18:51

Thanks for the due date correction! Funny how I used to know day by day in the 1st, now I am off by a whole week (denial maybe?).

Planning to use grobags from birth - seem easy and high on safety factor.

Am def having some sips of wine on ny delayed honeymoon/babymoon and some champers at Xmas eve. Plan to unload some 3rd trimester whoop ass on anybody who gives me looks. Have just purchased a lovely maternity dress for new years on ebay which I am looking forward to wearing!

36 hours til holiday....

Gursky · 22/12/2007 21:22

Hello Everyone - I'm ridiculously late introducing myself, but I am due on March 21st with baby #2.

Hope everyone is getting along well and using Xmas hols as a chance to sit down a lot!

turtledove23 · 22/12/2007 21:55

Hello Gursky and welcome to the madhouse!!

littleducks · 22/12/2007 22:00

its been ages since i have posted!
just found out that dh has bought a 5kg turkey, was thinking of roasting a chicken so am getting scared as to what to do with it.....and hoping it will fit in fridge and oven!

saw jamie oliver programme but didnt record it, ooops

turtledove23 · 22/12/2007 22:17

littleducks...have a look at ch4 website here and see if that helps?

turtledove23 · 22/12/2007 22:18

here,actually

fitnforty · 23/12/2007 09:35

had my 4d scan thing yesterday - pics not as good as s&e's, but haven't got round to scanning them in yet due to parents camping in the bedroom where the scanner is.
Anyway, he's def still a boy, and he kept his hand in front of his face most of the time until the last 5 mins...oh, and then stuck his tongue out and made ugly faces
We think he looks more like me at the mo due to the expressions, but acts more like daddy due to wanting a lie in! Nice to see head was well down in the pelvis and placenta in the right place too - growth was rechecked and all in the right averages! The grandparents appeared to enjoy the experience, though made too many wisecracks about rather staying home to watch the football, so I think that kind of ruined the experience for me and DH

4 1/2 more days until they go home!!! I think i may well indulge in a little glass or 2 of Baileys - nothing like wine or champers as that gives me too much indigestion on top of what i've got already

Hello Gursky, never too late to join

HolidaysQueen · 23/12/2007 18:45

Hello Gursky!

On drinks - I've been drinking all through, although only a small glass of wine maybe twice a week. Definitely planning a glass of champers and a glass of wine on Christmas Day!

S&E mum - love the piccies, and I might even have to spend the evening reading your blog now

I'm just back from the in-laws then we have a breather until tomorrow when my parents and brother arrive for Christmas. We're then away on Boxing Day, so this is my last post until the new year when I think we'll all officially be 3rd trimester - yay! So Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everybody!

surprisedandexcitedmum · 23/12/2007 19:44

HQ, i've been only having a couple too, think DP is getting used to me being taxi! Blog really is my inane mutterings and my way of remembering all this. Will probably turn into a doting diary of my child - poor thing!

Hi Gursky!

Fitnforty, sorry to hear grandparents were a little spoil sportish, DP and I managed to argue on the way, and then lyng on my back made me sick and dizzy, sop my scan was less than idylic!.

Merry Christmas everyone, jiggle those tummies and say after me.. 'HO, HO, HO!

PurlyQueen · 23/12/2007 19:47

I went to a party last night and not only did I manage to stay until 1am, but I also drank TWO glasses of Champagne.
I shall be up early to brave the crowds on Oxford Street (fool that I am!) to buy one more present and then I shall collapse in front of the TV!
Merry Christmas to everyone and here's to the third trimester!

surprisedandexcitedmum · 23/12/2007 19:51

I'll raise a glass to that - only joking!

merryberry · 24/12/2007 03:33

0330hrs, my arse...am up with indigestion and bad temper.

have done practically nothing to get ready for Xmas, lord help us. Sprained my ankle running in the park on Thursday, have only just got mobile again. That relaxin hormone must have really kicked in.

am offline to wrap a couple of presents til my tummy settles. good luck on oxford st tomorrow!!!

turtledove23 · 24/12/2007 10:14

Happy (nearly) Christmas to everyone! Invited brother in law and his girlfriend for dinner tonight, spent hideous amount of money on food (making beef wellington...yum) and just had call from her to say they've split up. Oh joy. Can't wait! Nevermind, am off to drown my sorrows in yummy food.
I am giving serious thought to having one small drink tonight, but a friend of mine tried that the other day and just got upset that she couldn't carry on..dilemma dilemma. I need a treat!

merryberry · 25/12/2007 09:01

Happy Christmas day! All well here, but I do need to stop hiding in the study now .

Better start dialling round the globe to make the Xmas calls for the day...

turtledove23 · 25/12/2007 09:24

Happy Christmas everyone!

minspugs · 26/12/2007 08:57

happy christmas everyone, hope you all had a brilliant day. just think next year there will be babies crawling around pulling the christmas tree to bits though in my case my toddler did a very good job of it herself!

mil and fil coming up tomorrow to stay foe 2 nights we dont get on so i can see it being a right barrel of laughs and the usual tactic of getting blind drunk will no longer work

GLAMpresentsforMAMAplease · 26/12/2007 10:37

happy Christmas everyone.

gingercat12 · 26/12/2007 17:13

Merry Christmas to you all. Just popping in to see that everybody is all right and in one piece yet.

Welcome Gursky

imjin100 · 27/12/2007 06:21

Happy christmas all - hope everyone has had a really lovely time. Ours has been perfect, with in laws and I've got to say totally relaxing and chilled out - I continue to be the luckiest person in the world....oh apart from the fact that this little baby likes to wake around the 4.30 time and have a really good play for a few hours! nevermind - we're back at home now so at least I can get up make tea, and surf on the internet - sleep will some later! Not working so have list as long as my arm for today's chores....erghghgh it includes doing some exercise....not so good but will get it over with early so then I can be pleased with myself the rest of the day!
Hope all good, everyone still in one piece and happy.
love and hugs.
