Not very original, but the thread WAS becoming ridiculously big.

Hi ladies, I have also not posted for a while. Had my anti d injection today and it didn't hurt as much as I was expecting it to.

We had the 4D scan on Saturday and I loaded some pictures of little Sam on my MN profile. We got some amazing photos, even though he wouldn't co-operate and decide to hide his face most of the time. Well 11 weeks to go and I can't wait to have him in my arms.

Although I have large boobs already they haven't grown much, I'm on the M&S soft bras at 38G, so when it grows more I will have to have a look elsewhere.

Bought a nightie for the hospital, kept being told I needed an open front nightie and couldn't find it anywhere. I ended up finding it in Matalan and it has buttons from top to bottom and goes to just below the knees. Do you think this is ok? I'm a trouser and vest type of girl normally so not sure.

HolidaysQueen · 11/12/2007 14:13

Ah, and Brazilianmum is back too - hurrah! I was also worrying about you. Your 4D photos are fab (love the one of him yawning!) DH and I are trying to decide whether we want to have one or not, and I think I might just buy it for him as a Christmas present so the decision is made!

MarchMum · 11/12/2007 14:14

Happy Birthday December girls!

Am feeling a bit better today - am also watching Harry Connick Jr on TV so that helps, really :.)

Hmmm...prize list, am going to start one now!! Most chocolate eaten? (My sister just sent me installment from Canada) Most swear words during labour, this could be fun!

My boobs haven't grown since week 12 but they are still able to apply for their own postal code. Am really curious to see where they go and hesitant to buy any nursing lingerie until I see the result! Weight gain seems to go in spurts, of which I've just had one. E14 - we just saw you adn that person is an idiot! Some people just have no idea like my dh will see a 7 month person and say oh my that's what you'll like at 9 right? Good thing he doesn't really know.

I am a G, so must wear something at night but sometimes just a tight tank vest. No nighty will ever support me on it's own so have to wear something else anyways. I think you do need sort of system where you pull down (instead of up) and can pull your boob out fast - my friends report traditional t-shirts (which I normally wear)will be impractical.

Lauren...another fall, we're going to need to start escorting you places!

ps to turtle - did you get your Triscuit pkg?

MarchMum · 11/12/2007 14:16

Brazilian mum, that 11 week comment just scared me! :.) Wow, it' so soon......

derah · 11/12/2007 14:21

[snort] at the flying thing - I've got a 12-hour flight with a 2yo next week!! Am I insane? Yes, probably!!!

Brazilianmum · 11/12/2007 14:23

I know, it doesn't seem very far at all. I'm quite glad Xmas is in a couple of weeks and my parents are flying in from Brazil, so it will keep my mind off worrying about LO.

DontlookatmynoseImRudolph · 11/12/2007 14:25

All the talk of boob size is making me feel very inadequate with my weeny size B's lol.

Re: pj's and nighties. I'm just having nighties for hospital. From having ds I know I won't wear pj bottoms anyway because
a)they'll probably get wrecked from the lochia after the birth (yes even with gigantic maternity pads on)
b)if I end up with another c-section the last thing I'll want is pj's waistband rubbing within 500yds of the scar.

preggers - hope you're little ones stay put for a few more weeks yet. I wish i was as organised. This lo will be sleeping in a cardboard box if i don't get moving soon!

turtle23 · 11/12/2007 14:38

March...Yes! Am happily munching my way through. They arrived this morning (sent you a thank you text...hope it WAS to you!)and were best birthday present!!
Brazil..I was undecided as to whether I wanted a 4d scan til I saw your pics. They're amazing!
Thanks to all for the birthday wishes. Just had fears confirmed by nice measuring lady at the bra shop. Am now a 38E. Bugger. She had the audacity to say "See you again next month!" for the third month running... Am beginning to wonder if I shouldn't get a seperate room for the boobs, too. I can't believe any of you are comfortable enough to sleep without a bra! I'm so jealous!
All the final bits of my nursery arrive 27th Dec, can't wait to get it all done.
Have only got 3 out of 36 knitted squares done for the blanket, it will definitely be the las thing done!

oh b'mum they are amazing pics!

surprisedandexcitedmum · 11/12/2007 16:44

Glad I'm not the only one splurging on 3D scan; I had originally said I wouldn't but am booked for the 22nd.

I have 85 days to go - the widget on my blog tells me so! Scarily soon yet quite far away too.

e14mum · 11/12/2007 16:51

Wow- to think that all our LOs are up to tricks like that! (clever things like yawning and stuff..)

I've just got the all-clear on the chickenpox. Whew! Poor DH is very spotty though...

Every time I buy a pack of biscuits I think, oh this will last a few days at least. Nope. Not even close. Of course I give a few to my collegues...

turtle23 · 11/12/2007 19:27

Finally managed to put a bump photo up...this one is 24 weeks. Black is sliming...

Thank you very much for your advice on hypnobirthing. It is very useful. I quite like yoga and pilates, so I might give it a go.

Preggers, you are amazing.

I am really happy today, as I realised LO is a little bit like me. Goes absolutely berserk if meal is not right on time Like 12.00 sharp. Normally he is as peaceful and sweet as his Dad, and after eating he is like a little angel.

I am ashamed to say my bra is still only a size B (which I am all right with). But I do not remember how I could ever sleep without a sleep bra. All my weight gain is on my tummy, so I do not know how far we can really go. It does not hurt or stretch or anything, it just grows like mad. DH and family think I might pop before March, too.

Will see GP tomorrow to get a piece of paper, so that I can fly over Christmas. Nobody believes me when I say I am due only in March. People think I might use some special calendar where March is really now.

gingercat12 · 11/12/2007 19:57

Happy Birthday, Turtle!!!

DontlookatmynoseImRudolph · 11/12/2007 19:58

Wow, just seen BM's scan pictures. It amazing to think just how much our little ones are developed at this stage.

ClaphamLauren · 11/12/2007 20:03

I know I am SO clumsy - is anyone else like this? I've fallen over no less than six times since I've been pregnant.

HQ - I just found it really uncomfortable, she was climbing up in my ribs, no leg room, unhelpful staff etc. I upgraded to business on the way back and it was much much better!!

I LOVE the 4d scan pics, just showed dp to try and convince him that we NEED one!

fitnforty · 11/12/2007 20:06

Spent a tedious morning in antenatal having my GTT done, plus the routine bloods. Sat and wrote xmas cards for 2 hours, only got 3 left (of the ones i have to post, still got the hand-deliver ones to go!).
Then result! Saw the local m/w and she's ok'd the homebirth! Well, she's ordering the entinox but said they just have to do a risk assessment home visit- anyone know what that is, just the house or me?
Told her about the hypnobirthing - she'd never heard of it which isn't good, but agreed the end result is whatever i want! Only prob is she's hoping to change jobs in Jan so don't know who my call-out m/w would be. Asked about the probability of m/w shortage on the day and she said it was quite high, but for our area we have 3 on call-out coverage which is apparently higher than other local areas. They did 10 hbs last month and the month before so they manage to do some

fitnforty · 11/12/2007 20:10

CL & Brazilianmum, welcome back
4d scan pics are great - does he look like mum or dad?

Surp&excited, I'm having the scan same day as you, great timing for xmas isn't it? Are you taking any of the rest of the family along? Am dragging my mum and dad as they're staying for xmas, will give them a surprise as they know nothing about modern tecknollogy like this OH isn't impressed that it's at 9.20 am though!

Bloomin Marvellous would be more marvellous if they did my sodding size but they don't cater for fatties

surprisedandexcitedmum · 11/12/2007 20:34

fitnforty - I had originally said we'd do it the following week but I can't wait! Used the excuse that it would be nice to take it home with us at Christmas. Ours is booked for a more civilised 11am.

I have a glucose test on Friday, I've been told it's because I'm 35. But hey, I will at last meet a midwife.

Dp poo pooed a home birth, so I am a little envious.

turtle23 · 11/12/2007 21:08

fitnforty...had my assessment. It was an excuse for the midwife to check you have running water, no angry dogs and just have a nose round! They just go through all the technical stuff with you and get on their way 5 mins later.

S&EM - my Dh poo pooed home birth last time around and I went with what he wanted cos he was nervous enough. But giving birth in hospital sucked, and I was the one who had to put up with the crap care, not him. So even though he's no happier about it this time, I just don't care! My birth, my way! Not that I think you should ignore your DP and his wishes/feelings, but if you want a home birth, make sure that both of you have examined all the risks and benfits of home and hospital birth. That way you're both making a proper informed decision and maybe he'll see the light.

Sorry, I haven't even had a home birth yet and I've turned into a total evangelist!

We have a new front door arriving tomorrow, which is very exciting! No more arctic drafts blowing in, yay!

PurlyQueen · 11/12/2007 23:01

I'm definitely wearing a bra at night and have done since I got two lines on my PG test. Well - apart from the time that my boobs didn't feel too sore and I threw caution to the wind and went without a bra. I had to put one on at about 4am because every time I turned over my boobs would hurt like crazy. Never again

PurlyQueen · 11/12/2007 23:02

PS: Good evening, by the way!

Is anyone else's nails growing like crazy? I've never had such long and strong talons, but I have to cut them every week, otherwise I can't use the keyboard at work.

MarchMum · 11/12/2007 23:16

check on the witchy talons over here

gingercat12 · 12/12/2007 09:56

CL I have not actually had a fall yet, but had some close shaves, e.g. I almost fell out of the shower last week. It is quite hard getting used to the fact that my centre of gravity is so much more forward than it used to be...
