OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Neuro · 28/11/2007 17:28

hello you lot!
eveyrone seems to be very upbeat. I am up in London, hardly logging on hence not posting much.
I feel massive. Where have my organs gone?!
And baby is wriggling so much i'm thinking PLEASE hurry up and wriggle your way out.
I went to Neal's Yard today and bought all sorts of delicious scent things, some of which i'll use for labour. One of them's a spritzy thing with neroli and lavendar which revives and relaxes. I dunno, something like that!
Also bought some butter/moisturiser for err the perineum, but i can hardly reach it, so just going to put it on my ladybits every night to make them elastic!! Prob too much info...
I'm off for a nap. Hugs and good wishes to everyone, and i will be jealous of you that start popping your babies out now!
And i'll see a couple of you tomorrow night at the meet up. Going to bring my camera but have forgotten the lead to connect it to a computer, so won't post them up for a week.
Bye now, luv Neuro xxxxxxxxx

Amani · 28/11/2007 17:36

mellymooks · 28/11/2007 18:20

Congrats Amani - bet it feels wonderful to know you're finished have a lovely day tomorrow!

mellymooks · 28/11/2007 18:21

oooh Suey2 do you think it might start soon?

suey2 · 28/11/2007 18:25

no idea melly, it is all new to me! Having to sit down as if i am on a horse now too. A bit unfortunate as dresses are far more comfy than trousers now.

mellymooks · 28/11/2007 18:31

Oh i know what you mean, i have to straddle my ball, it's the only way to be really comfy, never thought i would live in stretchy leggings again but the last two weeks they've been the most comfy option!!

Housemum · 28/11/2007 18:50

Buzzy - the bit with the curtain cubicles might be the "early labour" bit? When I had DD2 they kept me in overnight because waters had broken and head was v far up so they wanted me in in case of cord prolapse - because I wasn't in labour (only having mild contractions) I stayed in the cubicle bit - they move you to the labour rooms when you are in established labour. Didn't get a wink of sleep, mainly because hysterical woman came in with her DP and a TENS machine that obviously hadn't been out of its packet as she swore and cursed at him to read the f-ing instructions f-f-s!!! MW kept telling her that she was only just starting labour and would she like more drugs??!!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 28/11/2007 19:05

Impressed by heathly eating on here today

I have had

bottle lucozade
egg, beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast, jam and pot tea at morrisons after visit to midwife
Box of 8 fruitini ice lollies (blush)
ham and tomatoe sandwitch on crusty bread (dad brought it round for me as still no kitchen)
one of dds smal choc bars
bottle lucozade

and have save a ribena lollie for midnight when the pains tend to kick in and I am so thirsty but by then have brought 80% of above up so cant tolerate even a glass of water

macdoodle · 28/11/2007 20:14

Hope everyone is well and look forward to some interesting convos today.

fifisworld · 29/11/2007 09:11

Morning everyone

Well ive got quite a busy day ahead of me today.
im meeting a friend who i havent seen for a couple of years and her 4 week old dd for lunch.
Then ive got a bit of shopping to do in town, then its to mil's for tea as its sil and bil's birthday (they are twins)

I wonder how JARM is, she posted on the Nov thread about 2 this morning saying things were kicking off!!

suey2 · 29/11/2007 09:20

it is really calm before the storm isn't it? A whole week since we heard from thelady's DP. Someone has to pop soon, surely?

BunnyBaby · 29/11/2007 09:30

Morning everyone - Yesterday was my due date, and I'm determined to keep busy so was in work with my DH (his own business) doing books and running errands. Hadn't been sleeping too well, but a day at the garage tired me out suitably and I got a good nights sleep last night. Chilled out in birth pool again last night, DH had glass of wine - I had beaker of water! It seriously helps with back pain near bra-strap location. MW round today, and afternoon tea tomorrow with friend. My brother's also coming to stay at the weekend, so you could say I'm taking the keep busy philosophy very seriously. Still have my pains and tightenings, just waiting for it all to begin!

BunnyBaby · 29/11/2007 09:32

Oh, don't worry if not engaged, apparently something to do with room in pelvis. My baby is engaged when sitting, then MW feels he/she slide out when I lie back - may have something to do with the fact that I'm 5'11" though, so plenty of space..

cazzybabs · 29/11/2007 09:39

My midwife rang up yesterday - said I needed to call her back before 4pm and then she wasn't at work till next Tuesday!

GREAT - I didn't get the message until about 10pm last night...and now I am all worried about what she might had wanted to say!

Oh well - I guess I will have to wait till Tues!

cazzybabs · 29/11/2007 09:41

I would just like to add nothing worked for me being overdue with the dds - except time and the threat of induction! Mind you as I am not ready to have this baby yet have told dh no sex for a while!

Bouncingturtle · 29/11/2007 09:59

Cazzy - how annoying about your midwife! Is anyone covering for her while she's off that you can contact?
Bunny - I get back pains in the exact same location, Dh normally oblisges me by rubbing my back. So any day now for you?
And it looks like we'll be getting a birth annoucement from JARM soon! Good luck JARM!

claireybraxtonhicks · 29/11/2007 10:19

Morning all. Would just like to let you all know that I finished off the days eating yesterday in a far healthier way than I started, with an apple, a satsuma and chilli con carne with rice and spinach (cooked by dh!). So what with the glass of orange juice I actually managed to get my 5 a day of fruit and veg, possibly even more if you can count the canned tomatoes, onion and garlic in the chilli (am never sure if they count or not!).

Ooh how exciting about JARM-looking forward to hearing the news!

My grandparents are coming this afternoon so am doing a frantic whip around house stuffing things into cupboards!

claireybraxtonhicks · 29/11/2007 10:27

Wow just caught the end of Home Grown Births on living2-that was amazing! Had me sobbing into my cup of tea!
