lush does home delivery you can do it online, i typed in clary sage in the search engine on lush and lots of tasty stuff came up

Housemum · 27/11/2007 15:15

Wow - lot of chat today! DH working at home and only just gone out so sneaking on to the PC before the school run!

Xmas trees - I can't be arsed with hoovering up needles so it's artificial every time! Bought one with the lights already attached in Sainsbury's last year - bliss! Love real trees but I like to do the Xmas stuff in first week of December so figure that I'd be left with a stick with baubles on by the 25th if it was real!

Can't wait to be on the weekly checks after next week - I'm sure this baby feels lower by the day - as I said to DH last night it's either baby moving downwards or my pelvic floor is so crap it'll just hit the ground soon... Whenever I walk anywhere it just feels so heavy "down below"

Cards are on my list of things-to-do this week too - like the rest of you will just be addressing the envelopes as that's what takes longest, then just hve to scrawl our names in and baby too if we leave them that long before posting (DH is convinced this baby will arrive at 38 weeks or before - hope he's right!!)

Amani · 27/11/2007 15:35

Back again folks [grn]

Went to see m/w this morning who confirmed baby is still 3/5 engaged. BP and wee fine. Wo't be seeing her again until 37 weeks now.

Skid - am getting similar pains to you, where the joint at the tops of my thighs meet my pelvic bones really hurt an things like turn at night are so painful. Queried this m/w who confirm this is due to ligaments losening up to make room for baby to come out (as I had thought).

Beautician squeezed me in to get my eyebrows threaded - look so good I felt like wiggling them to everyone I walked passed on the street.

Had a nice nap for an hour so feeling refreshed ..

skidaddle · 27/11/2007 15:54

hi amani - it's been a bit quiet without you and MM on today!

at you wiggling your eyebrows at passers by. Have to confess that i don't even know what threading is!

So do you reckon the pains aren't SPD then? Well i suppose they're pelvic pain and that's all I need to know...

housemum and beckle - yes my bump is moving down too - looks almost saggy and ridiculously huge. Might post a pic of it tomorrow to make you all feel attractive in comparison [self-depricating martyr emotion]

Wizzska · 27/11/2007 16:01

Hey everyone - celebrate with me!!! Have finished the bleedin' chest of drawers!!! Am so proud of myself.

Amani - I got my eyebrows done last week. Feels great, especially if you let them grow bushy before hand.

Skid, does sound like SPD pain but could be ligaments in the pelvis loosening for the birth. The way the MW explained SPD to me was that it was the ligaments softening up too early. Still very sore either way! Not too long for you now though! To ease it I was told not to stand for ages and to keep legs together as much as possible. Also when sitting, don't slouch, make sure your back is well supported at the base and while sleeping put a pillow between your thighs (that really helped at night for me although I still can't roll over!). The pain in my hip seems a bit better in the last day or so and am wondering if baby has engaged and that has stabilised the pelvis a bit??? Hernia has been sore though so maybe that has cancelled out the hip pain! Feel a bit of an achey wreck today though as my back is very sore - reckon its cos my stomach has dropped and is no longer there to support my boobs!!! hehehe! You have to laugh about it all really!

skidaddle · 27/11/2007 16:14

oh dear beckle - poor you! My back is also much sorer since my bump has dropped. Thanks for all the tips - I am doing most of those things already but will keep doing them - at least it should be over soon

Yaay wizzska well done! Now sit down and put your feet up!

Wizzska · 27/11/2007 16:22

Skidaddle - yep, its a cup of tea for me, some Thorntons chocs that a friend brought at the weekend, and Deal or no Deal for me right now.

I'm getting the same hip/pelvis thing by the way. Total pain.

Hey all,

Just checking in. About to do a major catch up so will be back in about 3 hours.

Amani · 27/11/2007 18:24

Just come back from doc. DD been given antibiotics for an ear infections, which explains why she hasn't been sleeping well at night.

Well done Wizzska - defo deserve the Thorntons!

Skid - nice to be missed . Threading is an Indian technique of twisting a thread over your eyebrows to pull out the hairs. Much prefer it to plucking as it pulls a few hairs out at once and makes shaping so much easier.

Right, DH home now, off to wiggle eyebrows at him ...

mellymooks · 27/11/2007 18:40

Just walked to homebase and tesco with my man had loads of strong BH's. He said he only just realised that the due date is a week on Friday!! Bless him!! In his head he thought there were a few more weeks yet.....!

cazzybabs · 27/11/2007 18:42

I am mega pissed off..had midwife appoitment today where bp was even higher ...but I told her right at the start I have high blood pressure...so its high - nothing new..it is at the point everyone gets edgy...it is just what my body does. Anyway she was very edgy about my homebirth and then went and told me a story about a homebirht she had been where the wo,man had similar BP to mine - she sent her off to hospital where the lady near died from a PPH...just what I needed tpo hear - not! I am tired, emotional and I want a homebirth..I do not want stories where people have not had their homebirth! I am tired and emotional and really fed up!

AHH - anyway dd2 wants me to carry her upstairs...shall read the rest of the threads after she is asleep

mixedmama · 27/11/2007 18:51

Oh wow congrats to thelady and her OH. Welcome baby Frances.

Have caught up but my brain wont allow me to remember much of what i read.

Had antenatal class today about pain relief, quite interesting.

Only 3 more days at work woooo hoooo.

I am getting my eyebrows threaded at the weekend, feels so good when they are done and a haircut i the next few weeks.

insywinsyspider · 27/11/2007 19:28

well left work early after managing to spill a pint of water over me soaked throu to my pants so no point staying there! got home bout 3.30 and had a lay down, was almost very late to pick up ds from childminder as fell asleep - roll on Thursday

wizzska - off to have another ice lolly in celebration of your chest of drawers

cazzy - what do you reckon you'll do about homebirth? can you get a second opinion from another mw? hope you manage to come to an arrangement you feel happy with, can't imagine the scare story helped your bp either!

cazzybabs · 27/11/2007 19:31

Well she then went on to say all the other community midwives seemed happy for me to have a homebirth as I was regulary discussed in their meetings!

Its not that I will be gutted to go into hospital becausse all I want is s healthy baby but I don't need to know any homebirht gone wrong horror stories! I guess she was just trying to prepare me but even so..

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 27/11/2007 19:40

Hi to all you ladies in waiting

Still getting on/off pains.Piles killing and bleeding now

Keep thinking 'this is it' then it stops. But I have had almost complete bed rest for two days as its dh days off so that might have slowed things down.

Anyhow final appt with midwife tomorrow and hoping that she confirms I am in slow labour. If lo is not here by next Monday I am seeing consultant for an induction if body on verge of labour or another section if not.

So this time next week it will all be over!

Building work FINALLY coming to an end.Not quite the finished job I had hoped for this time.Still need tiling. But will have working kitchen by Fri so feeling slightly more relaxed

Cant keep food or drink down now and at midnight last night drove to 24hr garage for two ribena ice lollies.Today dh bought box of 10 fruit lollies and have ate them all so hes just gone out for more.....

Housemum · 27/11/2007 20:23

Cazzy - does your local NCT have a homebirth group? Ours does - you don't have to be a member, they have a coffee morning for people interested in Homebirths with mums who have done it before - they usually have a collection pot for a pound or two for the coffee & biscuits. Worth a try?

chocpeanut - have you spoken to a MW about the sickness? It can't be right to be so sick for so long? Fingers crossed that the sickness settles down and the baby decides to put in an appearance!

Ambi · 27/11/2007 20:50

Pecka, got my babasling at the weekend (cheap off ebay) it?s massive, but seems pretty good, I liked all the different baby positions that could be done with it, although I guess you could do that with most slings!!

Meme you?ve talked me into going to Lush now, found out there?s one at the Trafford Centre so will wobble out on Friday, the Black Magic butter cream massage bar sounds scrummy.

I can?t drink that much RLT, I can manage one cup a day.

Choc ? this time next week you?ll have mini chocpnut, how exciting, must really help to know that when you feel like shite.

Damned heartburn is back again, off to down a pint of milk.

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 27/11/2007 21:26

housemum
I am sick every day from 6 weeks to end.Its very severe until about 20 weeks (I was in hosp 3 times with dd1)

Im just crao at being ptegnant!

Housemum · 27/11/2007 21:46

Chocpeanut - I'd forgotten that you had always had the sickness - I thought you were saying it had just come on now. I had a friend with that a few years back that ended up on a drip several times in the middle of her pregnancy when she couldn't keep even water down - hyperemesis gravidum is the posh name I think?

Housemum · 27/11/2007 21:47

here's a YouTube funny to make you smile CBeebies are rude!

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 27/11/2007 23:33

thats the name.

i remember being in hosp on drip feeling really bad and thinking what have i done

but its all worth it

Amani · 28/11/2007 08:20
