Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bambino1andbump · 20/11/2007 14:58

Didn't say what it was sorry - its a driving one ranging from rally driving to off road 4x4 driving.

insywinsyspider · 20/11/2007 15:01

clairey - love the bump - it looks like mine too! people have gone from commenting how big I am and its def a boy to someone today saying 'so about 7 wks to go then?' ?!? and def a girl as I'm all round

wish I was at home nesting!

suey2 · 20/11/2007 15:03

finally did the ring thing- back and forwards- another pointer to a boy.

Have bought miriam stoppards book this morning and off to read it. It has pictures of how to put a nappy on and everything! Just the thing for this newbie.

Iam with clara on the james blunt thing, dundee

Nbg · 20/11/2007 15:20

I cant keep up with you lot!
Chatty bunch

Hope you are all well.

Housemum, I had a little snigger at what your consultant said
I sometimes wonder if my bladder is going to be headbutted out!

Officially 1 week left now and I realllllly realllllly hope that it will be just the one week, lol.

I've stuck a bump pic on my profile too but it was taken a couple of weeks back.

claraquitebignow · 20/11/2007 15:20

Claireyb - like the bump - is that a top from H&M you are wearing in the pic?! I have the same one but in black. I wear it a lot at the moment. Along with the few other things I can still get into and are warm enough - only two pairs of trousers and a denim skirt for the bottom half ...but really don't want to be buying anything new this late in the game.
Here's hoping the weather warms up a bit over the next couple of weeks as I have no coat!

skidaddle · 20/11/2007 15:24

wow Nbg - that is some bump! Def looks like the baby will be out soon..

Insy - yes me too! Used to say , my God you're huge, now say, only 3 weeks to go, you're not that big
Definitely prefer the latter...

clara - I only have one pair of jeans that still fit me so I literally wear them everyday (they're v. nice though)

Amani · 20/11/2007 15:25

Claraq - glad am not the only one whose maternity clothes feel like they are stretching now.

mellymooks · 20/11/2007 15:25

Crikey everyone is well chatty today, just been to supermarket and checked back in and a whole 3 pages of chat have happened!!
Loving all the bump pics - amazing how we are all so different.
I'm always listening out for how far along people are too, it's human nature i think to compare with others and bumps are no different!
I seem to be getting more ditsy everyday nearly left tesco without the cash back I had just asked for!!
have done some great things while preggers these are my top four faves:

Lost house keys.
Set microwave on fire at work.
Flooded my kitchen.
Drove to Wales by mistake.

Come on share with me your ditsy moments of pregnancy!

mixedmama · 20/11/2007 15:26

COMPLETELY UNRELATED RANT PLEASE FEEL FREE NOT TO READ

Ahhhhh just read a thread about a lady worrying about her children learning Kurdish as her DH is Kurdish... someone replied somethign about Turkey being vile to Kurds... dont get me wrong at times they are but is that the place to post that, she is just looking for language lessons. I really wanted to post about our one of our most loved Presidents who was Kurdish... but that wasnt going to help the OP. Just made me a little peed off that she had to make such a comment on such a simple post... plus the OP husband is actually Iraqi Kurdish anyway.

Sorry rant over - just annoyed me that the OP asked for some help locating lessons not her political opinion.

claraquitebignow · 20/11/2007 15:27

Skid - glad it's not just me. I mainly wear my jeans as they are so comfortable and people usually don't think "oh no not those jeans again"! I struggle putting on boots to go with my skirt so that doesn't get an outing very much these days.
Most days I would be happy to stay in pyjamas all day long. But not sure how well that would go down at supermarket/playgroup/Tumbletots etc....

mixedmama · 20/11/2007 15:28

How do you drive to Wales by accident... that has to win hands down.

I came to work without my handbag the other week.

skidaddle · 20/11/2007 15:29

melly - don't think losing your house keys quite compares with the other three - driving to wales by mistake??!!!

claraquitebignow · 20/11/2007 15:30

Mellymooks - you drove to Wales by mistake? lol. From where? Hopefully not too far out of your way! I don't think I have done anything as stupid as that. Early in pregnancy I made pizzas and had totally eaten mine when I realised I had forgotten to put any cheese on it. I think that's about as bad as it gets.

MM - I think some people just like to express their political opinions wherever they can, whether in an appropriate forum or not. Poor OP, hopefully she will just ignore it.

mixedmama · 20/11/2007 15:32

Hahaha - forgeting to put cheese on a pizza.

Melly give us more details about the Wales trip.

mellymooks · 20/11/2007 15:35

I was on my way back from Ikea at Bristol on the M32 then got on to the M4 so I could link up with M5 to get home, but somehow I slipped into complete preggers daze missed every sign possible for M5 and suddenly realised the bridge was right in front of me and that i was starting to cross water!!!!!
So I'm in my car yelling shiiiiiit!!!!! I don't want to go this way but it's too late and I have no idea if I even have enough money to pay the toll, am stressing all the way over bridge how I'm going to explain myself when I get there and have no money, by some total stroke of luck I have exactly £5.10 in my wallet which is how much the toll is, so I have to pay it, carry on to first roundabout then turn around and head home - expensive detour but I couldn't stop laughing at my ditsy self and it's given many people a good laugh since!!!

claraquitebignow · 20/11/2007 15:39

Mellymooks - I know that route well as have made many a trip down M5 to IKEA (you must live close to me) but I wouldn't even KNOW how to get onto the bridge

Amani · 20/11/2007 15:42

Melly - plus how do you set a microwave on fire??!!!!

MM - yes annoying, can see where you are coming from, not the place for politics, but people are always going to have their own opinions on things - you can either let it go or challenge it.

insywinsyspider · 20/11/2007 15:43

skid - I agree its a novelty being told I'm looking small now!

melly - lol at wales trip - thats beats me trying to open door with car keys... no not the actual key, I tried to blip it with the button TWICE before I realised what I was doing

mellymooks · 20/11/2007 15:43

Well I have no idea how I managed it and hopefully it won't be something I'll be repeating in a hurry!!

mellymooks · 20/11/2007 15:46

I set microwave on fire because I was making toast and wanted to put butter on it, but butter really hard as been in fridge so thought i was being really clever by popping butter (in metal foil) in microwave for few seconds to make more spreadable!!!!!!!
needless to say sparks flew and butter and inside microwave caught fire - it was quite spectacular!!

mixedmama · 20/11/2007 15:46

So funny...I am sure the toll person would have let you off... oh yes do tell about the microwave.

i knwo amani... was a little annoyed that I was about to post a reply and hijack that ladies thread completely before i thought what am I doing.

skidaddle · 20/11/2007 15:47

mellymooks - you sounds like a mad woman

mellymooks · 20/11/2007 15:50

It has been said that I maybe a touch crazy at times - I can't think what gives people that impression!!!!
A friend of mine used to describe me as tigger on speed I have no idea what she's talking about!!!!!!

insywinsyspider · 20/11/2007 15:59

clairey - like experience pressie idea, not sure about dh having day off too soon though will have to give some restrictions about when he can go!

Beanstermummy · 20/11/2007 16:37

blimey - how many posts for one day???

God the days seem to be stringing out at the moment - seems ages ago I finished work but eons away from DD - in truth only 10 days but willing things to happen earlier as I just want to meet little Button.

Finally got to the bottom of why DD is saying Button HAS to be a girl - she thinks she can't be a big sister if she doesn't have a little sister ! Roll on Peppa Pig and explaination of how Peppa is still a big sister to little BROTHER George - seems a bit happier now - although does still correct us if we say him or he at all

DH still being as frustratingly nutty as ever - admitted (as he did when PG with DD) that until Lo is out and everthing is ok he doesn't want to do any decorating of nursery etc etc - fine in theory but what has that to do with resealing the bath and putting towel rails up in bathroom?????????

Also - love my Mum to bits and all that and I know she is only trying to help, but if she calls once again at midday to check I'm out of bed and also what my allocated task of the day is - apparently it'll make me feel better - think I will scream. now taken to call screening

Long post I know, but thought I'd down load head while fingers actually paying attention to brain. LOL at the Drive to Wales bit - worst I have managed is to spend ages at petrol station deciding normal or super unleaded - only to kill brand new DIESEL car on drive home
