Uwila that's great you've got the hospital of your choice. I'm hoping I might be able to deliver in my small local hospital, not least because the main local hospital nearby seems to be a hotbed for superbugs these days.
Must admit don't fancy a c section, but haven;t really thought that far ahead yet.

Uwila · 18/11/2004 17:07

Well, this has been a quiet thread today. I have my second nuchal scan tomorrow. One picture just isn't enough. Looking forward to seeing bub again. And, hopefully, will come out with the same result or better.

Hope everyone has a good night. ALso hope no one has been beaten up over there on that breastfeeding vs. bottlefeeding battlezone.

Brighteyes · 18/11/2004 18:07

Myermay, glad its not only me 9 o'clock is my new bed time too

Good luck with the scan Uwila.

Did the results of your first nuchal scan come back ok then, Uwila? I'm glad you got the hospital that you wanted! I haven't got involved in the feeding frenzy. I'm of the whatever-works-for-you opinion. I find it far less stressful to not even bother reading these threads.

Dh took a day off work today for us to go Christmas shopping which was a nightmare. Ds got up at 6am with a raging temp which disappeared by 10am. It poured with rain and I lasted 3 hours before my back was so painful that I was crying in the shops I am going to demand physio when I see the doc on Monday. I've found a local Reiki + massage practitioner too whom I'm going to consult. I've had reiki before but not when pregnant - has anyone else? Can I join your hermit club please myermay? I'm shattered by 9pm too...

hi myermay - I don't dare take ds shopping on my own tbh, I need dh to entertain him while I browse but it works ok He is scared of lifts though which is a bit awkward.

I was considering taking a reiki course too but I couldn't find one locally. I love it, it gives me loads of energy. I had this back problem carrying ds. For the last 3/4 months of the pregnancy I couldn't sit down or stand for more than 5 mins without being in pain. It was awful and I was praying that it wouldn't happen this time but it has and even earlier

Too lazy to read back, but who else was it that getting a check-up today.
Had mine this a.m. and had been expecting them to say iron was low cos I've been so knackered. It's fine but my blood pressure has dropped a lot to 100/40!! Anyone know anything about low blood pressure?

northstar · 19/11/2004 13:03

logic posted on low blood pressure just last week, I'm sure she'll update you soon. My mushy pg brain cant remember the details sorry
Glad the rest of the check up went ok for you.

Hi myermay, YES me too! Went to the chemist today and the only thing we can take is FYBOGEL orange. Its a natural fibre drink and very safe when pg because it is 100% ispaghula husk(?) Any of the other remedies are banned til we pop i'm afraid! They also said dont blame the iron or multivitamins as it's hormones as much as anything. My main problem is not drinking enough liquid, I'm trying the orange juice and lots of water thing at the moment, but it just isn't working. Worst thing though - when i do go it is impossible to flush away EUUGH! just sits there

Bought Mother & Baby magazine today and it features a ancient chinese manuscript that is apparently 93% accurate at predicting the sex of your baby. The only information it uses is the month you conceived and your age. I'm supposedly having a little girl.

If anyone is interested post your details and I'll look it up(Guess most of us conceived in August). Be interesting for the ladies who already have kids to post their details about their previous pg, see how accurate it is.

Probably nothing in it, but its fun guessing.

The only details you need myermay is your month of conception and your age at conception

northstar · 20/11/2004 09:22

Brighteyes - i conceived august at age 36, also conceived ds in july at age 34.

Myermay - i spend all day trying to flush before dp gets home at night sometimes run upstairs really fast to double check its gone when i hear him coming in the door!

I used fybogel after ds and it did help...

well the chinese chart was right for ds, conceived December age 25 and it reckons that I'm having a boy again which is fine. I expect that it's a boy because dh's family is heavily biased towards them. I do have a slight twinge (after seeing a group full of mums and daughters yesterday) that I'll never have a daughter but I am not bothered enough to go down the try-until-we-get-a-girl route! I think that way leads to madness. 2 kids is what we planned and are sticking to.

northstar · 20/11/2004 09:35

Logic did you agree not to find out what you were having at the 20wk scan? I dont think i can hold back i'll have to ask, even if it is just to know about clothes and pink things instead of blue. I knew ds was boy so even my car seat is BLUE! At the time i wasnt thinking ds was real let alone imagining having a second!!

OP posts:
northstar · 20/11/2004 09:36

oh by the way i am NOT buying a new carseat!

OP posts:
logic · 20/11/2004 10:29

northstar, we asked at the 20 week scan and they were right We are going to ask this time too. It makes things so much easier. I am not buying a new car seat either! Have you done the chinese test? Do a google search on "chinese gender test"!

Brighteyes · 20/11/2004 10:43

Northstar it predicts your having a girl, but it was wrong about your ds.
