Can't believe it. Just got my BFP today and by my reckoning baby should be due 1st July.
Is there anyone else out there?

Fingers crossed for you sfxmum. Did you have spotting with DD? It could just be implantation bleeding, so please try not to think the worst - I know this is easier said than done! Would you be able to go and get an early scan?

I'm having lots of aches and pains in my nether regions too, and a general, underlying nausea (accompanied by lots of burping - nice!)

Saw the doctor today, won't be having an early scan or anything like that, and will have to pay for my nuchal scan too.

DS2 is trying to put a cushion on my head so I think this is my cue to go and entertain him!

twinkle1 · 28/11/2007 14:30

Sfxmum fingers crossed for you

Hello all, I've been feeling quite tired these last few days but no other symptoms still... have been taking the opportunity to have an afternoon nap with DS. He's very good about going down for his morning nap and his after-lunch one, but tends to wail if put down for an afternoon one unless you cuddle up with him. So that's been quite good for me and quite a nice time together, hope we can maintain it for a while so when the baby comes he doesn't feel left out! (Yeah, right, I hear you say!)

On our local news the other night there was a story about a pregnant woman and the voice-over person intoned in that deadly serious way they do on local news:
'Pregnancy is usually the happiest time of a woman's life...'

Er, hello??!! Must have been written by a man, surely...

libralady · 28/11/2007 19:09

Evening all,

Well sent DS back to playschiool today and he loved it. Wednesdays are the day he stays all day and has his lunch. They had a kids club videoer there today as well so that was fin for him. Had my booking in appt with the MW. Same MW I had last time and we had such a great rapport then and it seems to be ontinuing. She didn't deliver DS but I had all my antenatal appointments with her. Nuchal tests are done at the same time as 12 weeks scan in this area and are included which is a relief. Money is a bit tight at the mo, what with Christmas and everything, so didn't really want to be parting with another £150. Also found out that my hospital will now sex the baby (if you want) Last time Poole was only 1 of 5 in the country that wouldn't and they've now had to bow to pressure. Not too sure if I do want to know though. After discovering that the tooth fairy and santa don't exist, they aren't many other surprises left in life. Apparently they are 97% accurate. Does anyone else want to know before hand, or have had experience of knowing in previous pregnancies?

Hi all,

Libralady- Ive decided i dont want to find out the sex ( first baby) Want to keep it a suprise. DH would prefer to find out but says if I dont then its fine. Just hope they dont ask at a scan as I dont know if I could sayno, especially with DH next to me dying to know!

Well im now 8.4 and feel like a sumo wrestler!
I really do seem to have a huge belly/bump. Cant wait for my first scan to rule out twins!

Hope things are getting better for those having a hard time and the evil MS isnt killing everyone.

Thinking of you sfxmum. Fingers crossed everythings ok.

min912 · 28/11/2007 20:00

We found out at the 20 week scan last time because I was just too damn curious, plus the idea of some random sonographer knowing and not us, the parents, seemed just wrong to me!!

But then self-control has never been one of my strong points (e.g. biscuits, boxes of chocolates, looking for xmas presents when a child, etc.)

Random question: has anyone else been having saucy dreams yet?? Had one recently about a celeb taking part in Strictly and actually felt quite embarrassed seeing him on telly afterwards...

pigleychez · 28/11/2007 20:19

min912...
Not saucy dreams but definately odd ones.

woke up about 4am after (so i thought) my mobile beep as in a text message. Lay thier for ages thinking who it could of been. Eventually gave in an went down stairs to see that it wasnt even switched on so couldnt have possible beeped!

Another one I was a soldier in a war. Had a big gun and everyhting. Was in a derelict house and nipping in and out room but missing everyone by miles! Eventually I hit someone ( well the bullet grazed his ear!)and felt so bad I ran up to him, hugged him and apologised!

Dreamt I helped my sister give birth at my parents house whilst her partner read the paper and out parents watched TV. The baby came out spotlessly clean and without a cord.

Very bizarre.. most mornings my DH asks if ive had any dreams.. they always make him laugh.

libralady · 28/11/2007 20:42

I haven't had any wierd dreams yet this time, but last time I dreamt I was giving birth to twin kittens, one boy, one girl (even though I knew there was only one inside) and when it came to the crunch to get the placenta out, it wouldn't budge, so one of the guys I know from the local rugby club was in the delivery room pulling it out for me. Told DH the next morning and he just looked at me.............
we laugh about it now

No weird dreams yet, but last time I dreamt that giant head lice were chasing me up the front street scary!!!! DH blames it all on hormones, but it could be the pickled onion monster munch before bed???

MrsWednesday · 28/11/2007 21:50

Ooh yes, having very bizarre dreams, not saucy ones yet though. On Monday night I was sitting, facing backwards, on top of an elephant's head for some reason. Weird.

I had one dream when I was pregnant with DS1 (so five years ago!) that still makes me blush now, it was so rude - it also involved a celebrity...

sweetkitty · 28/11/2007 21:52

I had a dream I was looking at a scan of twins but it was just after I saw nh101's scan pic so I think that was on my mind. No saucy dreams though.

We will be paying to find out the sex, with DD1 they told you, with DD2 had a complete cow of a sonographer when I asked she said well it might be female. She was horrid all round you are telling parents their baby is fine and the sex thats a lovely job. We had a 3D/4D scan which was £190 but was excellent, would definitely recommend it. This time we will just be having a £90 sexing one, the local hospital doesn't divulge. I, too, amd the worlds most impatient person, I need to know if I need to buy some more baby clothes.

sweetkitty · 29/11/2007 05:10

Been up since 4.30am can't sleep don't know if it's the pain from the tonsilitis or stressing about the scan later, only about 5 hours to go.

Got some Piriton for the DDs so that should help them with the chicken pox and will go see the doctor tomorrow get some antibiotics for my throat.

libralady · 29/11/2007 06:11

Good luck with the scan today SK

sfxmum · 29/11/2007 08:11

hi everyone

the spotting continued so I called the doctor and will have a scan at EPC this morning, I have had some light pain overnight so not terribly optimistic.
having said that, past mc have started without pain, we shall see, hope you are all well today

MrsWednesday · 29/11/2007 08:38

All the very best of luck today sfxmum and sweetkitty. Keeping fingers crossed for you both.

santascRUMPELedsuit · 29/11/2007 09:53

SFXMUM - hope it all goes well - sending you sticky dust.
SWEETKITTY - hope it is good for you too.

Not going to find out the sex as I like a surprise at the end. it was the ourest moment of joy ever when I looked and dicovered we had a DD! teary emoticon

Have had about a nano second of sleep over the past week - LO is full of snotters and has a hacking cough now. DH is home tomorrow so he can take over parental care and I will clean the loss in prep for puking and rest

Re Hyperemesis - poor you must be awful. Bad enough feeling really sick but your ribs, tum and throat must hurt like hell form wretching. My sympathies.

I forgot to mention that I took a sample in to Drs yesterday and they don't even test it WTF? She said 'do you want me to send it away? How bizarre. I thought they just dipped a stick in automatically?

I always have mad dreams anyway - between semi-consciousness. last night I dream't that there was this SAS type man dressed as a black pony running up a hill behind a cow? Then he fell down the hill and became a sheep, then when the crows flew down to peck out his eyes (that is what they do to dead shepp/lambs) he grasped it's beak and drank from it? The farmer saw and chased us with a gun, we ran to a beach and hid under a metal awning. The farmer went back to his landrover to make a call, then heard us and came back to investigate. The SAS type guy jumped up and hit him over the head with a brick so we could escape!!!! WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT? I think I might have bits of the book I am reading at the mo' escaping into my sub-concious - it is a detective story set in Ancient Egypt about the disappearance of Nefertiti.

On that note I shal leave .......

santascRUMPELedsuit · 29/11/2007 09:53

That should have been purest!

Minkus · 29/11/2007 10:31

Morning all
Hope our sticking thoughts have helped you two, sfxmum and sweetkitty.

scRUMPEL you've got one rather active imagination there! min912 naughty dreams not surfaced yet, but if this pregnancy is anything like my last one I am waiting for the filth to commence (dh loved it as I apparently get a bit, er, "fruity" in my sleep and we ended up having lots of naughty middle of the night half asleep fumbling)

We're going to leave finding out the baby's gender as a surprise too. Loved the moment when dh said "We've got a son!" last time, agree it was a really brilliant moment.

DS wants to call the baby after himself. Is convinced its another boy and can't understand why we wouldn't want to have two sons with the same name!

Have a friend and her lovely 15 week old baby coming later on- she's bringing me more of the elixir of life (grapefruit juice) to satisfy my cravings bless her. But she's also a bit phobic about being sick and so not sure how she will be able to deal with that one seeing as I am sick about twice an hour!

Have a good day all
x

Breizhette · 29/11/2007 10:31

Good luck sfxmum and kitty.

paulaplumpbottom · 29/11/2007 11:06

SFXMUM and Sweetkitty good luck. Let us know how you get on

mcchesers · 29/11/2007 11:10

sticky thoughts sfxmum and sweetkitty!!

MINNIE1 · 29/11/2007 11:25

Hi all,
God you lady's can talk Sorry have'nt even looked over your posts. Been a while since i was on, due to being in hospital with dehydration!!
The morning sickness went into overdrive and i ended up eating nothing and drinking nothing, a sip of water would turn my stomach. Went to the doctor and she said to "sit it out" Unreal! Went to a doctor on call and he sent me strigh in, put me on a drip which lasted 3 days! Feel like i have been hit by a bus eating little and often but nothing to write home about. Down to 8st and like a ghost!
Did a scan in the hospital and bubs is fine I was really worried something would happen. But were on the mend slowly.
Have started to take vit to help me, with my last 2 i was fine never had MS. This is just horrible hope no one has to ever go through this.

Hope your all keeping well and best wishes to all who are having scans. I will be thinking of you.

sweetkitty · 29/11/2007 11:34

Good news from me, I have ONE baby in there measuring 8+1 days with a heartbeat. Blubbed lying on the scan table, coming out the hospital, driving home, going around Asda and when I was telling DP all about it. Am emotional wreck. Will have anotehr scan at 12 weeks but that's it which I am and about.

I had DD1 in London and had two scans and a nuchal fold, DD2 was staying at my Dads as between houses had 2 scans and got told the sex, up here just the 12 week one. The 20 week one is important as they do all the body structures and check for any anomolies that can be picked up before birth. The hospital have got funding for 20 weeks scans but not until next year and they have to emply more sonographers. Will be paying to have a private scan though.

paulaplumpbottom · 29/11/2007 11:47

Sweetkitty that is amazing news!!!!!!

santascRUMPELedsuit · 29/11/2007 12:21

Oh great news SWEETKITTY - it truly is unbeleivable though about the 20 wk scans isn't it? They are so important and I cannot believe that soem authorities son't offer them. It is just a backhand way of forcing people to go private IMO. it's not the staffs fault - they are probably just as .

I really and truly think that they need to start charging people for treatment because of alcohol and drug use. It would free up cash for other areas they desperately need it.

MINNIE - poor you. DRS can be right arses can't they? God it makes you
I hope you are feeling better soon - think about going for acupuncture. I found it really helped last time and I have been going regularly for the past 2 months. I was supposed to go Monday but DH is away and no one to look after LO. I am hoping when I go this Monday it wil sort out the MS as have been feeling terrible the last few days.

It is weird as I find that diet coke really helps when I feel like this and I never dring coke or fizzy stuff (apart from tonic in my Gin) any other time.

Am having a dossing around the house feeling sorry for myself day today LO has passed on her cold to me. I am trying to pysche myself up to print out my dissertation and do a HUGE pile of ironing - but it just is so unappealing

SFXMUM - how are you ?-sticky sticky stickyxxxx
