pamirka · 26/10/2007 14:53

Well ladies, I think I'm going to join you... No EDD as yet but I reckon early July - if not I'll abandon ship and join the June-rs, but I'm still waiting for a date scan to try and find out!

The reason for my uncertainty is that I came off depowhat'sitsname in early Aug and had three periods in the space of three weeks in early Sep. Then I had a -ve test on 1st Oct then 2 +ves on 15th and 18th Oct... so I reckon I'm between 3-5 weeks PG.

Either way I'm delighted, as is DH - we haven't got round to telling DD yet (she's 17mo), or anyone else for that matter.

But I wanted to post now as I've just had my first bout of morning sickness (well, at 2pm!) and it's all starting to hit home.

Nice to meet you all and I look forward to sharing the excitements of the coming months.

mrsclairet · 26/10/2007 16:33

Hello everybody, I went back to the doctors today and asked if they had booked me an appointment or not (I left feeling very confused the other day after talking to a useless receptionist) and they have booked me in for 20th Nov so I should be about 8 weeks then. This appointment is with my doctor, will I then have a scan a couple of weeks later? I just feel so impatient at the moment, I want everything done now!! (I'm just being silly I know, I'm not working this week so time seems to be going really slowly).

Gracie14 · 26/10/2007 17:09

Hi all,

Congrats to newbies

mrsclairet - I think you proberbly will have a scan a couple of weeks later between 10 and 12 weeks. I'm going to get an appointment hopefully on Monday so will see what happens and let you know. And your right it has been the longest week ever!

I've been xmas shopping today and a walked a mile and a half with the dog so completely knackered now. Still don't feel that different apart from metallic taste in my mouth occassionally, will have to wait and see I suppose (not very patient - this could be a long wait )

isaidno · 26/10/2007 20:39

mrsclairet - it is normal for the doctor to refuse to see you before 6 - 8 weeks; but that first appointment starts the ball rolling for everything else. IME midwife ususlly sees you about 10 weeks, and scan approx 12 weeks.

It is a very long time to wait for things to happen!!!

mrsclairet · 26/10/2007 20:44

Thanks for your replies, I was talking to my sister in law today and she said oh it'll whizz by with it being the run up to Xmas. I'm hoping she's right! I'm a teacher so things will be a bit mad when I get back next week because we have to start all the rehearsals for the Xmas production and start making our hats, cards, placemats etc etc!! It's also my husband's and my mum's birthday in November so there are a few things to look forward to.

MrsMadMand · 27/10/2007 14:04

I'm seeing my GP on Tuesday because of a previous m/c. He said a while back that if I got pg again he would book me in for an early scan... watch this space!

aprilmeadow · 27/10/2007 21:41

Verso thats fantastic. Lots of sticky baby glue for you my lovely x

Verso · 27/10/2007 22:11

Thanks, aprilmeadow!!

beanbearer · 27/10/2007 22:54

Might be in as well - though can you ladies give me some advice? The second line was very slow to develop - certainly a minute before it began to become clear but as it's the pair to the one that told me DD was on the way 2+ years ago, I've managed to lose the instructions. If it's slow coming, does that mean I am pregnant but still quite early so hormone levels are low or was it more likely a false positive?
TIA!

JoOs · 28/10/2007 01:50

Hi, beanbearer! The same thing happened to me this week when I got my BFP. The firt test I did the line was clear. So I bought another test and tried again a few hours later and the line was also clear, but a little bit darker then the first one. On the same day I ran a blood test and found out that my hormone level was 316, so I think that's why it was clear. It was still low. This is the level for the 1st and 2nd weeks (which is between 50 to 500). Maybe that's your case. Try to have a blood test done to be sure and let us know!

Verso · 28/10/2007 07:15

Hi,beanbearer. You're completely right - a slow line just means it's early days. Try again in 48hrs and you might get a faster result. A line is a line (as they say!). Congratulations!

baby3 · 28/10/2007 09:25

Hello and congratulations to everyone! I'm after some support as I'm having quite a lot of pain on my LHS in my lower tummy and weeing is uncomfortable and I never really feel like I've emptied. I went to the OOH doctors earlier this morning and they've tested me negative for urine infection and told me it's probably growing pains.... has anyone else felt like this? I'm quite worried as I did have 3 MC before I had my two children????

Morning,

Just taking my name off the list, been bleeding heavily since yesterday so know its not good news

Good luck to everybody with your pregnancies xx

mrsclairet · 28/10/2007 09:53

Hello to everyone.

baby3 - I have been experiencing some crampy type pains (like period pains) but it says in all the books I have read not to worry about those. I'm also getting the feeling like when I go to the toilet I haven't emptied properly and the other night I thought I had an infection as had to go about 7 times during the night but I have had a history of problems with my bladder and been on medication for it so have not really thought anything of it. Sorry, that probably doesn't help!

Gracie14 - I'm really really sorry to hear about your bleeding. I don't really know what to say apart from I'm thinking about you.

I'm off to try and buy some healthy food, hope everyone else is okay x

beanbearer · 28/10/2007 14:41

Gracie14 - That's such sad news. It will happen for you, when your body knows it's the right time. Be very gentle with yourself. Big big hugs.

libralady · 29/10/2007 06:25

Sorry to hear your newsGracie14.
Hope you will be back soon.
Well I was soooooo tired last night I went to bed at 8.45
I know the clocks changed yesterday but DH went out playing golf all day from early on, DS doesn't understand the change of clock concept and consequently came into us at 5.30. Then I had B & SIL around for Sunday lunch. DS was so knackered I put him down for a sleep in afternoon (he's 3.6 and I don't normally)for 1 1/2 hours, then I had M&D around for tea (they'd just got back from a few days away). By 8.30 I was sooo drained I just said to DH I'm going to bed.
As a rsult I've woken uo stupidly early today.
Got MW appt at 2.15 this pm so will catch up with you then after I've done a few hours at work. I might as well go in early today so I can leave early. They joys of flexi.
