Can't believe it. Just got my BFP today and by my reckoning baby should be due 1st July.
Is there anyone else out there?

hi guys. I'm feeling odd today, slightly nauseated, tired but mostly very irritable and restless. I went to bed (hubby is fab and looked after the girls) but couldn't settle. felt the most content today when I was making curry and peeling lots of apples for crumbles. Then I cleared out the toybox and threw a bin bag worth of tat away in preparation for xmas. If I nest like this for 9 months our house will be unrecognisable!!

anyone else feel like this? I don't remember this restlessness when I was preg before, although hubby says he remembers the irritable aspect!

sweetkitty · 24/11/2007 21:01

coolkat - I have had tummy pains in all my pregnancies, it could be bowels or just everything stretching getting ready for the baby to grow, I remember reading somewhere that even though you aren't showing a bump your uterus grows twice it's normal size in the first few weeks so other thigns have to move out the way for it.

cass - oh I did the tat throwing out last week, did about 4 bin bags it felt great. And agree I am super irritable now.

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 24/11/2007 21:54

Evening everyone.

I've had period like cramps too and they've started to ease up abit now (6+3) but I do remember my friend saying with her 2nd pregnancy that she couldn't believe the number of funny pains and said that there were all sorts.

I've been feeling completely exhausted and most peculiar today. DH got up with DD at 7 and left me to lie in until 9am and then took her out for an hour this afternoon so that I could have another snooze . It was only after the afternoon conk out that I felt any better but 3 cheers for my DH!! He's also cleared the garden and done a stash of BBQing....

sandcastles · 25/11/2007 00:14

Hi guys...

How are we all today?

I had some strong cramps last night, and also some tummy pains. It is quite normal, as I remember. Got a lie in this am, which was good, as very tired yest'day.

Can you believe that the tiny buds that will be the babies milk teeth are already in place?

Verso · 25/11/2007 08:46

coolkat - I had aches and pains with DD too and am having them with this pg as well. As everyone says, probably a mixture of things growing and bowel problems. (Nice!)

PTIYPASY your DH sounds like a GOD. A LIE-IN!!! The very idea! A NAP! . I am very very envious. I tried to have my long-negotiated lie-in this morning because DD was up several times last night as she's not very well, but DH started 'hovering' and I realised I was expected to get up. He's good at doing his bit with practical stuff, but I don't think he gets quite how tired I am. Hey ho.

Am hoping to go off and buy a second-hand car today. Decided a while ago that I wasn't going to endure another maternity leave without transport (public transport and a pram or buggy is not great - people help - sometimes - but the number of stairs is astonishing)... so I've done refresher driving lessons and hope to be out on the road soon!

libralady · 25/11/2007 09:38

Hi,
Sorry I haven't been on for a couple of days but it's been really hectic.

Took DS to the Drs Friday am as he was completely covered in this rash. Got my chickenpox results back and I was immune, but the rash definately wasn't CP. Dr still awaiting results of rubella, so she said she would call me later. She took some photos os DS's rash so she could 'phone a friend' as she put it beacuse she really didn't know. Advised to keep putting calamine lotion on him and to keep giving him the piriton.

Left DS with Mum while I went shopping. Even my Dad was concerned as under all the red blotchiness, my DS skin was blue. By the time I returned my DS had a temperature of 40.8 and was very lethargic. Phoned Drs immediately and got him straight back up there. They then referred him to the pediatric ward at the hospital. Mum had come up with me and subsequently found out I was pregnant when Dr was on the phone to the hospital and mentioned I was 8 weeks. Boy did I get a funny look (with a coy smile!!!)

Spent a lovely afternoon and evening at the hospital with over 12 people coming into our room (we were put in isolation) to come and look at this unusual rash. If a research bod came in to see him. No-one seemed to know what it was. Then the consultant came in and took one look at it and said yes, this is classic xxxxx????.

Apparently my son has had a viral infection (he had a cough and a cold for a couple of weeks) and the rash is an allergic reaction to the virus. The rash itself is not infectious, but obviously the chest infection is. My poor man. He has been covered everywhere and I mean everywhere with a rash which started off red and then became raished wheels (similar to nettle rash but on a much larger scale) which was horrendously itchy. They've put him on a really strong anitbiotic (only 1 5ml spoon a day for three days) and today I can see that the rash is finally subsiding.

Now his cough has come back with a vengeance and his nose is streaming thick yellow/green goo (sorry if tmi) so may get him back to Drs tomorrow just to be checked out.

He's got to go back to the hospital on Wednesday for a check up. His temp has come down, but he is still a bit lethargic and he only really wants to eat crap - biscuits, pancakes, rather than a meal, so I am indulging him for a couple of days - at least he is eating something, although I am probably making a rod for my own back as he is not the best eater in the world at the best of times.

Today my DH has got to go an be checked out as he's had a cough for a week or so and the consultant wants him checked out also especially as he away next week with work.

Ho hum, it's all going on in Libraladys's world at the mo. Everyone is ill around me.

Sorry it's been all me, me, me, just thought I'd keep you posted as I had a few messages of support on Friday when we thought the worst - German Measles. BTW my rubella results came back positive - I've got the anitbodies so would be OK if I came into contact with anyone with GM.

Will catch up with the thread later on.

Bye for now

LLxx

It was meant to say even a research bod came into see him and they could shed any light on his rash either.

Hello - hope you're all ok. I haven't been here for a while because I've been asleep most of the time!

coolkat · 25/11/2007 10:40

Oh LL how horrible. I hope your DS gets better soon. When my DD was small she was always ill with her chest and I used to hate those visits to the emergency doctor.

Thanks everyone for your support on tummy pains, its wierd how you forget! I do know that I feel its going to be harder this time round just sense it. I enjoyed being pregnant last time but this time mmmm. It feels like evrything is stretched and bloated already and I seriously can not believe it - sounds stupid I know but am paronoid that my shape has changed - how can it so early, so I am attempting to stay of of the crap food so I know its not just junk food weight gain!!

Have a nice sunday!! X

icklegem · 25/11/2007 11:05

LL - hope your ds and dpare better soon and fingers crossed you don't catch anything.

I have had pains too but mainly on my lower left side. Bit worrying but I did get pains with my others so not too concerned. Figure it's just all the stretching, again!

I'm so tired this morning. My own fault. Me and dp went up to London last night for a Rock concert. Prob something nobody here's ever heard of? Machine Head, Trivium and Dragonforce !!

Was fun but had to stand for 5hrs in the same place, got stiff back and legs and didn't get back until 1.30am. NEVER AGAIN! I'm far too old these days lol!

Hope you all have a lovely day x

cass66 · 25/11/2007 11:24

libralady, I'm glad your son is improving. sounds like you had a positive experience at the hospital and you finally know what is the cause. must admit, it didn't sound like chicken pox or measles or rubella from your descriptions. kids eh?? never straightforward.

my older daughter fell down the stairs properly last night. she was a bit hyper before her bath and slipped at the top and landed at the bottom. luckily kids seem to bounce so she was very upset but only had a bruised head. no sleepiness or sickness but still scary. she's fine today.

I'm still restless, have made bread this morning (hasn't risen very well as the yeast and flour were both out of date) and sorted out the washing and recycling. couldn't get to sleep last night, stayed up and watched a thriller on channel 4 (which was really good). hubby gone mountain biking and kids being mostly good playing together. a relaxing sunday so far!

santascRUMPELedsuit · 25/11/2007 11:45

Hi All,

LIBRALADY - sorry to hear about your DS - hope he is feeling better very soon.

COOLKAT - I always get a sore tum when pg too - especially in early weeks. I have IBS and sometimes it feels like the IBS but it is everything stretching. Plus all those hormones play havoc with your digestive tract. I feel my tum has expanded very quickly this time too - although I haven't put weight on.

CASS66 - how old is your DD? My DD(13 months) likes to climb up the bottom 3-4 stairs then gurns as she can't get down - I have to go and help her. We have got a stair gate but if I am with her I let her do it as it is good for her to learn.

I am exhausted today - LO had me up between 2.30am - 3.30am. She has been poorly the last few weeks - hand, foot and mouth, followed by the cold, her MMR on Tuesday and now she has a cough and snuffles - (probably the MMR working on her).

I am finding it really hard to sleep at night - I am so hot and restless.

Not feeling sick though - which is weird for me - I am not complaining though as I hate that nauseous feeling - I find it soo debilitating. Just a touch of heartburn.

Anyone got any cravings yet? I am back to pickled onions (which I love anyway), diet coke (which I NEVER drink unless pg ), oatacakes and cheese and salty things! I always go off chocolate when pg too ( I am usually a chocoholic )

Well I need to get my head in gear as LO is asleep and I have disseratation to try and finish [yawnemoticon]. Have a nice day all....

sfxmum · 25/11/2007 11:52

hello all

LL sorry this is nort really sorted out yet, hope your ds recovers soon.

coolkat yes early pregnancy closely resembles pmt in my experience just to drive us that little bit crazier.
oh the joy.

hope everyone keeping ok

cass66 · 25/11/2007 11:53

santaS - the daughter who fell down the stairs is 5 (my other daughter is 3) so really should know better. she fell off the end of our high iron bedstead when she was 1. the younger one is less accident prone, although she was the one who stuck a bead up her nose resulting in our only trip to casualty so far!! (touch wood).

note to self. buy new yeast next time.

I'm still feeling very nauseous, also very bloated, my mum tells me she was the same. People at work looking at me funny!
