Can't believe it. Just got my BFP today and by my reckoning baby should be due 1st July.
Is there anyone else out there?

walkingtimebomb · 22/11/2007 11:16

Hi gang - got a BFP on Saturday 17 Nov [and Sunday 18]. Have no idea exactly when due as had to guess the date of my last AF, doc reckons it is around 26 July, you guys are all early in July so I will be climbing the walls by the time I am due. Actually hoping confusion about dates may mean I am due a bit sooner. Will no more on 10 Jan - 1st scan! This is my second DS1 only 10 months!

feb · 22/11/2007 11:28

hi walkingtimebomb, i am also due approx 25th july but like you have had to guess my dates, and i also have a ds born 31st jan!

expatinscotland · 22/11/2007 13:01

i have a blighted ovum, so i will be leaving this thread.

and whilst i am very relieved about this, as most of you know, i am absolutely raging at the shite excuse for maternity care in this region of Scotland and have started a long thread in the MC section for hopefully some help.

i wish you all HEALTHY and HAPPY pregnancies!!!

twinkle1 · 22/11/2007 13:04

So sorry expat will be thinking of you
twinkle

expatinscotland · 22/11/2007 13:06

thanks, twinkle, but i'm not sorry, i'm beyond angry!

here's why:

walkingtimebomb · 22/11/2007 13:23

Hi feb - omigod! How spooky DS1 was born on the 25th! Are you having any symptoms yet? Presumably you weren't trying? How do you feel about being prg with such a young DS?

sweetkitty · 22/11/2007 13:26

In a way I'm sorry you are leaving us expat but in a way I am happy for you as from reading another thread I know you have been spared a difficult decision and I believe in fate and it is yours not to have a third baby.

I am so for you at the care you have been given, I hope everything works out for you soon x

walkingtimebomb · 22/11/2007 13:34

So sorry expat, just read the whole saga! Had to friends who had 'missed' miscarriages one had a terrible time being sent to and fro and the other was OK. both had D&C's. Hugs and best wishes. x

expatinscotland · 22/11/2007 13:36

thanks, all!

icklegem · 22/11/2007 14:21

Hi all,

I had a bfp yesterday but was very faint line so I tested again today with different brand and it was bfn. Now I have no idea what to think??? Has anybody ever had this?

Thanks Gem

(If I am due date would be 27th July)

outinthesticksmummy · 22/11/2007 14:22

expat haven't read the link yet but so sorry you've had to go through this.

Our scan was good news, looks like its twins!! GULP, there were 2 saca, 2 egg yolks and 1 tiny faint h/beat, when we had embryos replaced one was more advanced than the other so i'm reckoning thats why. Sonographer said everything looks right for my gestation, got another scan next Friday where i will be over 7 wks so fingers crossed for 2 flickering h/beat!! couldn't see any reason for the bleed and its stopped today.

2.5yr old DD started throwing up last night, which was all i needed, but doesn't seem too bad today and so far we haven't caught it yet!

WTB - wow 2nd preg in 10 months!! you've been busy, good luck, think i'm more middle of July but if its twins who knows?

Feb, triplets, yikes! am freaking out a bit about practicalities of twins, although am over the moon, would be lovely to have a twin buddy.

take care everyone xx

libralady · 22/11/2007 14:33

Well I'm still having a crap time. Took DS to the DRs last night and they said it doesn't look like chickenpox but could be measles. I've had BT today to check my immunity to CP and Rubella, but the results wont be back until a week to 10 days WTF!!!!
Looking at symptoms on NHS direct, the rash appears to be more measles due to it's location, however the symptoms point more to German Measles. Now I am concerned. My immunity was OK last time around (4 years ago) but NHS direct says it can recede over time. Got to go back to the Drs tomorrow with DS for them to check on the spots/rash/ Poor DH is covered in calamine because the spots are itchy (in measles they aren't but GM they are)and I've been giving him piriton.
Does anyone know the implications regarding if you are immune and you come into contact with rubella? Can it still cause the defect/mc or stillbirth, or is that only if you don't have the immunity?
Sorry it's all me me me.
Sorry for your news expat, but I know you weren't really in a position to have another at this time. Am very for the NHS services you have where you are.
Good news for you oitsm Twins !
Welcome to the newbies.
LL xx

Can I join? EDD 13 July. DS (age 11) and DD (age 9). Going to be a bit of a shock for us all (although it was planned and am very happy). Don't know when to tell the children though. Will definitely wait til end of first trimester though as had misc in Aug - am having nuchal fold scan on 2 Jan as am 39.

Any other older mums out there?

santascRUMPELedsuit · 22/11/2007 14:39

Hi All,
I haven't had a chance to read everyone's messages as yet but I am due on the 27th July. I think it more liable to be the 24th myself though.

I have 1 DD who is 13 months. This is my 4th pg and I am keeping my fingers crossed everything goes well.

Am going private for nuchal scan with bloods, as NHS doesn't offer it. Pretty nervous, as it's really hard to know what to do with the results.

sfxmum · 22/11/2007 14:50

I understand what you mean we have discussed it fairly thoroughly and I am certain if the odds not good I will go for more invasive test

EEC · 22/11/2007 14:55

I'm pretty sure we will to, but it's deciding what an acceptable risk is that is the hard thing. It all seems a bit arbitary. Do I go for CVS at 1:200 but not 1:201? I know everyone has to make their own decisions...

libralady · 22/11/2007 14:55

I'm 38 so and 'oldie' as well. Welcome, some more people to add to our list!

EEC I think you go for what puts your mind at rest at any given time, not really a straightforward answer sorry.

I am going for the Fetal medicine centre they have a good reputation as that team developed the tests originally.
