Can't believe it. Just got my BFP today and by my reckoning baby should be due 1st July.
Is there anyone else out there?

feb, i've been ill with some type of who knows what that caused me fever, chills, diarrhoae and vomitting.

but there's no way i'm going to drive over an hour and a half to sit in some A&E just for a possible miscarriage that no one can do anything about at this point in time, anyway.

que sera, sera.

i blame the fucking NHS for cutting maternity services to teh core, it already cost a baby's life in gourock.

all this chap has to do is pick up the phone to get me a proper appointment.

as it is, i can't go anywhere till at least 3.30 because my daughter is in nursery school just now.

all i want is a scan appointment tomorrow or friday.

paulaplumpbottom · 21/11/2007 13:37

Sorry Expatthats rough

expatinscotland · 21/11/2007 13:39

PLEASE don't be sorry, ppb! oh, no!

as you know, this was unexpected as it was and our housing situation is messed up as it is, so i'm not too gutted.

i'd like to just know one way or another, but really, the maternity services here are dangerously far away.

paulaplumpbottom · 21/11/2007 13:42

I know but it still cant be easy

feb · 21/11/2007 13:52

you must be really frustrated, expat.
i'm angry for you
xx

expatinscotland · 21/11/2007 13:59

no, i'm not frustrated.

i've miscarried in teh past. it just wasn't meant to be, for one reason or another.

that's how it works out sometimes.

the thing i hate is the missed miscarriage - where you have to go back and diddle around with the D&C business. that SUCKS!

i don't feel pregnant anymore, but i guess the only way to tell is by scan.

my mum's being a major pain!

libralady · 21/11/2007 14:03

Sorry to hear your news expat but as you say Que Sera Sera.
Take care of yourself

Hi,

I have just had a blood test and it was positive (after 2 faint HPTs and a negative one...).
I had my DD1 on the 8th of January after 4 years of TTC and 1 IUI. So didn't bother with contraception. And here I am!
I am 90% happy and 10% freaked.

Expat, good luck x

outinthesticksmummy · 21/11/2007 14:27

expat - gosh your going through it aren't you?? how far gone are you? really hope your able to rest and the spotting dies down, its so scarey isn't it??

Where do you live (if you don't mind me asking) spent a lot of my childhood on the West coast and my mum is still up in Ayrshire.

Hope you manage to get some answers soon.

My bleeding is coming and going, Dh has come home to look after dd which is a relief, going for our NHS scan tomorrow. Am fuming with our clinic though - over our past 6 attempts we must have shelled out at least 25K and now i ask if i can have my scan brought forward a few days and they say they have no room for us as they are fully booked

oh well, back to bed for me to watch sky plussed episodes of Celeb!!

expatinscotland · 21/11/2007 15:24

i live in rural argyllshire.

i have an appointment at the EPU at tomorrow morning at 8.45, so hopefully i'll get some answers.

i then have an OB/GYN consult with bloods and swab, so at least we're getting somewhere.

i have spotting and lower back pain, as i did w/the missed miscarriage.

but without a scan, it's all a guessing game at present.

twinkle1 · 21/11/2007 15:31

Anyone else had pains when there period ould have been due?? not realy bad just aching really.
twinkle

twinkle1 · 21/11/2007 15:32

Sorry hard to type and spell with a toddler helping

sfxmum · 21/11/2007 15:49

welcome twinkle and breizhette

expat sorry about all the crap you are having to deal atm much sympathy and strength to you.

outinthesticks - it is awful that they say there is no space for you to have a scan.it is hard not knowing.

here having a tense day but nothing major it is just that when you have a history of mc, early pregnancy is not very relaxed

libralady · 21/11/2007 16:08

S**t.
DS has just come home from nursery and when picking him up discovered he has spots on his chest, tummy and back. Auntie said it looks like chickenpox, so now have both him and myself booked in to see Dr at 5.15.
Has anyone had any experience/knowledge of pregnancy and chickenpox? I know both myself and DH have had it. DH got it when he was in his 20s and had it really bad!

oh expat sorry to hear about the spotting, are you feeling better re the D&V bug, did they confirm Listeriosis? Will keep everything crossed for you tomorrow. Why is your Mum being a pain?

mummyoutinthesticks - whereabouts in Ayrshire is your Mum? Both DP and I are originally from Ayrshire, we are in Lanarkshire now having come back from SE England a few years ago

twinkle - I have had a fair few aches and pains as well so far.

Breizhette - hello and welcome I bet you are in shock, life throws up the odd surprise at us somethimes doesn't it?

I have felt so tired and sickly today spent most of afternoon on sofa watching telly don't think the cold and wet weather is helping either.

libralady · 21/11/2007 16:08

Sorry, welcome to the newbies.

sweetkitty · 21/11/2007 16:09

LL - one of my friends little boys had it last week and we had seen them so I was a bit worried but apparently if you have had it you are immune so any baby will be fine.

libralady · 21/11/2007 16:13

Thanks SK, that's a bit of a relief. I've done some looking up on NHS Direct and that has also confirmed what you have said.

OP posts:
sweetkitty · 21/11/2007 16:26

no problem LL thats where I got my info. I keep waiting for the Dds to get spots now.

Breizhette · 21/11/2007 17:23

Thanks. Yes I'm in complete shock. Talk about extremes! Going from a 4 year wait to this. Quite pleased though. I have called my doctor and they are booking me in for an early scan.

twinkle1 · 21/11/2007 17:41

Hi Breizhette, you would be amazed how many people fall pregnant a second time after receiving fertility tratment 1st time.I worked in the fertility clinic at the local hosp for a while and heard from lots of ladies this happened to!!!
congrats
twinkle

outinthesticksmummy · 21/11/2007 18:27

Breizhette, congratulations!! wow you must be on cloud 9!!

Sweetkitty - Mums now settled in Prestwick, but we used to live in Alloway.

Early pregnancy is just horrible horrible horrible, when you don't know whats going on in there, at least later on you can rely on movements/dopplers etc.

Went to bed at 1 and haven't had any bleeding since, feel exhausted and still hungry as ever, so i am hoping these are good signs??

Expat - will swap scan notes in the morning! heres hoping both of us are in with a fighting chance eh?

PutThatInYourPipeandSmokeIt · 21/11/2007 19:41

Evening all and yes good luck for all scans tomorrow - it is always so much easier once one KNOWS what's going on - I do agree with that.

Hello Breizhette and congratulations! It does seem to be the way doesn't it?!?!?!?! I also know a couple of families that adopted two kids and then bang, fell pregnant when they thought it was all impossible. Nature seems to wait until you're relaxed and off guard about it all!

Shrooms - I wonder if the name David is a bit ordinary compared to your other two?

I've got a bit of a tummy upset today which is not much fun when you have to take your 11mo to the bog with you
