Can't believe it. Just got my BFP today and by my reckoning baby should be due 1st July.
Is there anyone else out there?

Olderbutnotwiser · 11/11/2007 19:12

Hi everyone. Thught I may as well join you now instead of lurking. Got a very unexpected BFP on Wednesday and a lot has happened since then. DH very unhappy, to say the least and I had seen GP re termination but after the reality of being pregnant sunk in a bit more i told him i can't do it and want to keep the baby. He left on Friday and have had no contact since then. That makes him sound like a real bd but he's not - he has said for ages he wanted no more children ( he has 2DD by xp and we have a DS and a DD )and this pregnancy is due to contraceptive failure - my first month on a new pill. I have 3 much older children by previous H so this will be no 6 for me and timing is s**t. I am currently not working but have been offered my dream job and just waiting for CRB checks and references to come back before starting but even so the thought that a new life is beginning inside me is great and i am pleased and excited.

sweetkitty · 11/11/2007 22:09

Olderbutnotwiser - hello and congratulations, I am very sorry to hear about your troubles with your DH. Please remember that contraception is a two way street and the responsiblity of a man and woman, nothing is 100% and when you have sex theres always a risk it might fail. I think what I am trying to say is that he is responsible too. Sorry about the new job hope you work something out there I'm sure there will be a way around it. Anyway huge welcome.

I've had a few good aches and pains downstairs so far, In fact I was getting aches where my ovaries are for a few days before AF was due. I've had this in all my pregnancies (this is no4) so am not too bothered. When I had the mc I had very little pain even when I was actively mc-ing IYSWIM?

That magic 12 weeks seems so far away........

Minkus · 12/11/2007 09:49

God I feel sick

Hello everyone, congrats olderbutwiser, think I recognise your situation from another thread. Sending you telepathic supportwaves.

Am 6+3, by this stage with ds I was hurling for England and well on my way to my first hospital admission with hyperemesis so am just glad that I only feel hideously nauseous without actually throwing up.

But more worryingly I have had another small bleed this morning. Had one the day AF was due and another a couple of days later but nothing since, had just assumed they were breakthrough/implantation bleeds. My tum is a bit achey this time though which makes me worry more. Have called Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit who have asked me to see my dr first for a referral, so have booked an appointment later this morning.

Really hope I haven't dislodged this one. Went on a fairly strenuous walk in the Malverns yesterday and although logically I know that if I do end up losing this baby that the walk wouldn't have contributed to it, can't help feeling huge regret that I went. But fingers crossed eh it might be ok .

sfxmum · 12/11/2007 09:59

good morning all

olderbutnotwiser - congratulations! am very sorry to hear about your situations, but when you make a choice you will find the strength to deal with it, hope things get resolved soon.

minkus I am a still earlier than you and for feeling a tad nauseous all day, particularly in the evening. last time I was never sick but endured nausea all day.

I could not keep away despite my fears about the pregnancy, it is still so early.
but I guess one way or another nature will take care of things

Mummywannabe · 12/11/2007 10:37

Minkus - hope all is ok, thinking of you.

I've had nasty sickness bug yesterday and couldn't keep a thing down. Managed a piece of toast and some dry cornflakes today so thats an improvement. feel sick today but felt sick before bug when i was hungry so wondered if it was that?! trying to up my fluids. But in the grand scheme of things i realise im lucky and should stop moaning (and perhaps get dressed fairly soon!)

Minkus · 12/11/2007 13:43

Thanks sfxmum and mummywannabe, this morning sicknes (morning-hah!) malarkey isn't really that much fun is it?

Have an appointment at the EPAU in Hereford tomorrow morning, GP was lovely and annoyed for me that I couldn't have got an earlier appointment.

Am staying at home today ("Hello Mr. Boss, I have a tummy upset") and so likely to tomorrow also. Brain not engaged on work anyway and I keep wanting to blurt "Of course a three day meeting in July isn't ok with me, I am pregnant and will be waaaay on maternity leave by then". Or at least I hope I will be

paulaplumpbottom · 12/11/2007 13:53

Congratulations Olderbutnowiser. I'm sorry that things aren't working out how you expected. If it helps I have spoken to alot of women who have regretted their abortions but can't think of a single woman I know who has regretted carrying on with their pregnancy.

Verso · 12/11/2007 16:40

Hi, olderbutnotwiser. I hope you have some contact with your D(?)H soon. It must be really stressful having him just leave like that. My DH reacts to difficult situations in the same way - just leaves - but usually relents within a few hours and sends an apologetic text or several. Hope your DH gets over the shock of the BFP soon and decides it's actually a good thing. Sounds like you're finding it bad timing too. Thinking of you.

Sounds like everyone apart from me has M/S! I've got mild nausea - and the metallic mouth thing - but no heaving or gagging or even close. I guess I should count my lucky stars. I was the same with DD too - although I do remember it getting a bit worse around week 8 or so before it got better again...

GloriaInEleusis · 12/11/2007 17:11

CanI butt in again? I keep reading this thread to check that Paula is still here and doing well -- which surely makes me sound like some weirdo stalker type. Hi Paula

But, Meglet, can I address what you said about worrying about a section having hurt your chances for future pregnancies. I think that's a myth. The only impact a section can have on future pregnancies is if the egg tries to implant right on top of the scar, then you might not get pregnant. But, surely, lots of people have had lots of sections. Please don't feel bad about having had a section.

Ok, I'm butting back out now.

penguinmum · 12/11/2007 18:56

hello, well it has now been 9 days since my bfp - feels like months! what am i going to be like for the next 34 weeks?!

not had m/s, but have been feeling queasy on and off, and very light headed. and am exhausted!

glad you mentioned your aches and pains downstairs sweetkitty, i have been having a lot of that and was quite worried cos I don't remember having that with dd. am hoping it is quite normal. will be at least another 2 weeks before i get booking appointment, think i will have gone mad by then.

Mummywannabe · 12/11/2007 19:18

Penguinmum i know what you mean about 9 days seeming like month. My 1st appointment at G.P is not until 28th and that seems like a lifetime away.

Olderbutnotwiser · 12/11/2007 19:27

thanks everyone for your kind words and suport. what i forgot to say was my DH and I have been living seperately since feb but throughout that time we have been a couple and recently things had been going really well and we were discussing him moving bck in. So at least i know were he is ( at his flat ) and we have spoken earlier tonight, although not about the pregnancy, and he is cming to take the little ones out tomorrow as he has a day off.

No M/S here yet either, but am exhausted. Will be off to bed soon especially as my youngest aged 15months is going through another phase of getting up at 5 30 every day

Have 2 DD and there great, so no three will be the final one for us. Looking forward to it. Went to the doctor today and she confirmed it so the ball is rolling for the ante-natel.
Many congrads to you all on the BFP

PeggyP · 12/11/2007 20:45

Hi all!

can I join you please?

I found out that I am pg with 2nd baby a week ago and as far as dates are concerned I am due 13 July. I am very excited!!
my DS is only 9 months old but we love the idea of having them so close in age. That will go with the hassle of having to run after 2 rather than just one , but I am sure it should be lots of fun to. Is there any mum out there with 2 baby 18 mths apart?

What are your symptons this early in the pregnancy? I have had a bit if nausea this past weekend but since then nothing. I am a bit worried because with my first I suffered quite badly the first 12 wks. I almost feel not pregnant... is anyone else feeling like this?

anyway, good luck to all of you and wishing healthy and happy pregnancy!

paulaplumpbottom · 12/11/2007 20:57

thanks for updating the list pigley

welcome peggy and minnie - wow minnie you are a glutton for punishment 3 very close in age, great fun though I like small age gaps

Penny - my DDs are 18 months apart and I love it a great age gap, the first year is difficult with a new baby and a toddler but it gets easier and they are just starting to play with each other now, they are really close too, can't be that bad I'm having another although will have a bigger gap this time, hopefully DD1 will be 4 DD2 will be 2 1/2.

expat - you aren't on the list

no symptoms really here, bit queasy still boobs feel a bit tender and I feel a bit bloated but thats about it so far

Morning all,

sweetkitty,
I sure am a glutton for punishment but looking forward to it. (maybe saying different in a few months lol)

No symtoms what so ever (YET) With DD i did feel sick. Feel normal if anything just a little tired.

Going to ring my ante-natel doctor and book app today...

How are you all feeling?

sfxmum · 13/11/2007 10:10

minnie with dd1 I had light but fairly ever present nausea, never actually sick and was quite tired.

this time I am too blinking nervous to feel anything I think, just rang GP and have appointment for next monday.

want to do an integrated test and that has to be done fairly early so trying to get things going

mrsclairet · 13/11/2007 10:32

Hi, I am feeling miserable today. Have been ill over the weekend, I ended up having to go to A+E as I had bad abdominal pains and I had to check it wasn't ectopic. It ended up just being a urine infection but I have had to have 2 days off work and I only work part time so I feel really guilty as I will only be in for 1 day this week. I also had to end up telling my boss over the phone which I didn't particularly want to do.

Also I was sick on saturday night twice and thought it was due to the infection but am not sure now whether it's due to the pregnancy. All I kcould eat on sunday was toast and yesterday I had toast at lunch and really struggled down half a pizza for tea. I know if it is pregnancy sickness that's supposed to be a good sign but am just wondering how I'm going to put up with it for the next 5 weeks!

MINNIE1 · 13/11/2007 10:33

Hi Sfxmum
Sorry for being thick but what is a integrated test?
The first 12 weeks ia always the hardest is'nt it..

sfxmum · 13/11/2007 10:37

integrated test I want to do it because I will be 39 in Feb.

and yes the first 12 wks are hard and so are the rest of them I feel and the rst of this parenting lark
