The last thread seems a bit full so I thought perhaps it is time to start a new one

Happy belated christmas everyone. glad you're feeling a bit better Angeliz. I've had a great Christmas. Lucky for me the baby is head down and extremely low in my pelvis, so the heartburn and symphysis pubis are much improved. On the downside I'm finding it really hard to sleep and am very grumpy every morning! Fortunately DH is home til next week and doing loads with DS and DD. We're still in the throes of DIY and I can't believe the baby's due in 7 wks. Got to get organised! Happy New Year to you all - should be an exciting one!

I'll start the roll call. Due on 14th Feb..33+4 today. Baby still transverse/breech (every position except the right one!) as well so any good positions you can recommend Tipex!!?

Due 27th Feb,

Hello everyone - Wishing you all a Happy new year tonight... set to be my soberest for many, many years!

Had lots of scarey stuff happening; have spent today resting after a scare yesterday whilst visiting the inlaws. Went out for a walk and suddenly got horrible sharp pains in my bump and my legs gave way. The next few hours were spent in hospital strapped to monitors and lots of nasty internals.
In the end, baby decided not to arrive (phew) and is behaving himself impeccably by turning head down (has been transverse so far) and keeping me reassured with tons of movements. All I need to do now is lower my blood pressure (high - prob due to all the stress) and get baby to hang on for as long as possible.

Oh and I did not have my notes with me so was berated by every medical person i came into contact with, to the point of reducing me to tears (bad mum syndrome kicking in) so ladies be warned- I am assured that none of us should even be visiting the shops without our medical notes!!!

Have a good night everyone - I'll be on the soda scoffing more chocolate!

Angeliz · 31/12/2004 17:35

emandbump, poor you and nasty midwives!
Of course we don't carry our notes on us!!!
Glad you're feeling better
I am due on 22nd according to both scans and all midwives BUT on 28th according to obstetrician(sp?) who GLANCED at my notes and changed my date even though i practically know the date i conceived and apparently HIS word is law

Can you tell it's a sore point???

So me, 22nd February

LittleNemo · 31/12/2004 17:46

20th Feb.
Happy New Year everyone - still can't quite believe what this New Year is going to bring.
emandbump - glad to hear you're feeling better. must admit my notes stay in the house unless I'm off to see the midwife so you're not alone

futurity · 31/12/2004 20:35

I know how you feel Angeliz ..my due date by my calculations (and I was doing temps/ov sticks..the works so knew when i got pregnant) was 21st Feb...then my scans came out as 14th so I have been going with there dates as I gave up telling them that I knew the date I conceived! It has started to worry me a bit now as the 14th may come and go and they will think I am overdue when really I may not be. I had a c-section last time so if I am overdue (or they think I am) they will push me for another one as they are reluctant to induce(I would like a natural birth if poss). I will raise it with my midwife at my next checkup in 2 weeks but it is only now with 6 1/2 weeks to go that the implication of my due date changing has hit me!

Hazellnut · 03/01/2005 14:49

Happy new year everyone !! I am 10 Feb (officially - but some question at last scan suggested it might be 16th but no official change of dates !?) - yikes that makes me first so far ...
Have another scan tomorrow so will see what they say then !?

aloha · 03/01/2005 15:02

What a lot of crap about carrying your notes! I carried mine last time because I had complete placenta praevia and so was at risk of bleeding at any time, but this time they are under the bed with all the rest of my paperwork!

Angeliz · 03/01/2005 15:44

Happy New Year everyone

futurity, it's annoying isn't it?
I have an appointment on the 12th so fingers crossed that baby has turned! (Although i don't think so as it feels just the same).
I keep getting hefty kicks in the ribs that make me gasp out loud. Little bruiser this one

Hope everyone is well and looking forward to the babies coming out!!!!!!!

Angeliz · 03/01/2005 18:15

Tipex, how do you know it's transverse?
(Mine feels like that as i feel sometyhing like feet right round my side)
Might also account for the nudges in my ribs if they aren't kicks!!!

Am befuddled by this ones position!

aloha · 03/01/2005 18:26

I have outgrown most of my maternity clothes!! I didn't have loads but now am down to one pair of black trousers and a few tops. Desperate to wear normal clothes again but from size of the rest of me, I don't think I'll be fitting into those for a long time...
I really do feel huge and bored now.

futurity · 03/01/2005 18:59

Angeliz: I know mine is transverse from the shape of my bump..it is just wide and low rather than long and the shape of my body (if you get what I mean!?). Also I can feel where his head /body is by feeling with my hand..if I start feeling from the top down there is nothing..if I feel from bottom up there is nothing..but if I feel from the side inwards I can feel his head (not hard to miss as it is round and hard!).

laa · 03/01/2005 20:00

Hate to tell all of you with transverse babes but mine is nicely head down - squashing my bladder beautifully! Due 15th Feb. - well that's acc. to scan. Acc. to me it's due 21st. Don't care anymore, I'm so exhausted I just want to give birth. I'm finding it really hard feeling so tired and immobile with my two other under 4s. I had thought about having 4 kids, but I think I've changed my mind! Don't know if I can do this again. Esp. with still feeling really morning sick.

bunjies · 04/01/2005 12:53

Hello all. Am due on 21st Feb but past performances (ds born 3 weeks early and dd 2 weeks early) indicate this one will not go to term which suits me just fine. Last day at work on Friday....yippeeee!! I'm not sure which way baby is lying but I know I can feel something quite low down and need to go to the loo more often so could be head down.

Got really upset about forgetting my GP appt last Friday and was in tears about it even though I have managed to re-schedule for this week. Very hormonal at the mo!

Hazellnut · 04/01/2005 14:58

Well, I thought at least db was head down so was one thing I wasn't worried about - had scan this morning and size issue doesn't seem so bad now but guess what - is now breech !! Back in two weeks for another scan. So will have to get on my hands and knees and try and turn him/her - well the kitchen floor needed a wash !! Roll on February !

Angeliz · 04/01/2005 20:17

What is it with all these breech February babes???

bunjies, hope your hormones calm down soon +++

jolly4 · 04/01/2005 21:09

hi all happy new year to all long time since i been on but not long for us all just glad too be back in uk after our xmas in orlando which was tiring i am due 15th feb and also breech but got the growth scan on thursday so lets see if she has turned but i also think she still in same position lets see eh! well dp gonna do a bit of paintin this weekend get babies room ready for the arrival wish it was sooner rather than later thou i feel so big and uncomfortable and i am so lookin forward too it again

Momof2 · 05/01/2005 13:43

Hi All, Happy New Year - can't believe its over a month since I last posted on here! Bump is huge and having just had nearly 3 weeks off work am having probs fitting behind my desk. Just been to see HR about moving my date to leave on 18th rather than 31st Jan - if I had had my way I wouldn't have returned today
Saw midwife yesterday and took DD too so she could hear the heart beat and she got to feel the head - which is down so no breech here.
Hope everyone is feeling well and not too heavy (am now 174lbs but still half a stone lighter than my boss!)Any names yet? We are struggling with boy names.

OP posts:
laa · 06/01/2005 15:04

I'm really stuck for girls names. Any good ones that people can suggest. I think we have a poss. boys name, but maybe it won't suit him if it's a boy. I'm feeling really irritable at the moment - it's the lack of mobility that gets to me. On the good side, I'm off to Centerparcs next wk. with DH< DS and DD which I'm really looking forward to. Then I suppose I ought to organise stuff for the baby..like a mattress and wash some babygros and pack some hospital bags....in between painting the nursery, the lounge, sandoing floorboards etc! Has anyone tried raspberry leaf tea and found it useful and when did you start drinking it and how many cups per day?? Any tips??

Hazellnut · 06/01/2005 15:46

Girls names for us haven't been a problem but boys names have caused some lengthy debate and I had a sulk last night as our final (?) choice has risen 7 places in the 2004 most popular names and I am desperate for a non-popular name but as a friend of mine said they chose what they thought was a not very popular name only to find that everyone else that year had thought the same so guess you can never tell ! See the following for the top 100....
boys
girls

Have bought raspberry leaf tea which says start taking at 35 weeks (which is today for me !)but the only people I know who have taken it have ended up with long labours - hmmm - oh well, its worth a go I reckon !

laa · 06/01/2005 16:18

Hi Hazellnut - just about to peruse those name lists. Just had my 1st cup of raspberry leaf tea! didn't taste too bad either!
