For want of a better title, I'll go with Inzi's

Well then, today has all been a bit of a blur for me so far. Dropped ds off at nursery, then went to see mw at 10.30, she did a sweep (wasn't that uncomfortable by the way) and then pronounced that she thought he might still be breech so sent me off straight to hospital for a scan. Got there at 11.30, had scan.... and he is breech because she did me a sweep they don;t want to leave me over the weekend, so I am going in for a cs tomorrow morning 8am my mind is all a whirl, thought I would let you all know, and then I am going to repack my bags now I know what's happening. Will probably be in hospital till monday/tues if there are no problems. So much to sort out and do this afternoon now, must get on, will catch up with you all later, hopefully you will find this thread ok

Hello ladies! Just taking advantage of some unexpected me time while both boys are sleeping!

Muppet - really cross at the crap registrar making you so upset. Great you got to see the consultant in the end but the fact remains that you're not happy. If I were you I would ring the consultants secretary and ask for them to see you again and ask when you get to the clinic to see the consultant and not one of the junior docs. Try and take dh with you so that if you get upset he can explain ho0w you feel. And write down what you want to say in advance too so you don't forget anything. Another option is to ask your consultants secretary for their e-mail addres and write a letter explaining your fears and why you would like to discuss this again. This is what I did in order to get to see someone again when I was worried before my elective section. Good luck.

Choc - thinking of you tomorrow - hope all good on the scan. You're still early enough that they may be able to try and move your baby if they are breech, and also OP babies can move anytime including in labour. Thinking of you!

Big congrats to Apricott and Winnie! Hope Greedy is busy producing too as she hasn't been on for a while has she?

Inzi - sorry to hear you still struggling honey. Don't be so apologetic about winging on here either - its what we're here for an we've all done our fair share!!!

Hello to the newbies - sorry baby brain prevents me remmebering your names! Think there was another newbie a couple of days ago too - hello to you too and welcome.

Well we are doing OK. Adam hasn't repeated the great night he gave me a few nights ago which is predictable of course but he hasn't been sleeping too badly and some of the relentless eveningfeeding has calmed down. We are getting out and about lots (so much easier with him than a toddler!!!)

Hello to everyone else still waiting! I'm thinking of you even though don't get to post as much as I used to! Big hugs xxx

FINALLY my baby has landed 10 days late!!!!!! baby Marcy!!!

10/10/07!!! 4.29pm and she weighed 8lb 9 1/2oz!

started having very mild contractions yest morning at 4.30am and so rang my mum at 7am to say "get your arse over here" in case it all sped up, but thenit seemed to stop when she got here, so took dd to the park and marched around like a loon and went on the swing to try and get things going again and it seemed to work! contractions were about 20 mins apart by 12pm and we went into hospital about 1.30pm. discovered they have a birthing unit which was lovely and i got to use. contractions got REALLY bad by about 3pm and i THINK the screaming started about 3.30!!!!! i don't EVER remember it hurting that much before!!!!!!! but then she is a lot bigger than my other 2 with a much bigger head!!! i have NEVER made noises like that before either!!!!!! done all the normal grunting before, but never sobbing between contractions and screaming and wailing!!!!!! i dont know what the mw made of me!!!!!!!

i said a horrible horrible thing once she was born too!!! when the mw asked if we had a name i said we hadnt decided on a final choice but we should call her 'bitch' cos she hurt me so much!!! then i decided maybe we should just make her middle name 'bitch'..................i completely forgot that i had said that and the mw came and reminded me later on!!! GREAT!!!!

ANYWAY!!!!! FINALLY she is here and gorgeous, and NOT a bitch at all!!!! but she did hurt me ...............and i dont know why i always decide to be tough and do it without pain relief cos i always regret it and wish i hadnt!

came home last night about 10.30pm and cracked open the champagne!!! but had to go back in today to get disharged properly and have her paediatric check and hearing check done..........which took ages! my mum has just taken ds and dd1(!) back with her so now its just me, dh and little ol' marcy!!! hopefully we can get a bit more kip tonight, but we will see!!! i think BF is tough!!! shame my nips aren't!!!

ok.........cant do this feeding and typing lark v. well! this post has taken me AGES to type!!!

love to everyone!

and congrats to winnie and apricott!!

unicorn · 11/10/2007 18:01

Wow Greedy.. Congratulations and lol re the b*tch comment probably gave m/w a hoot too! - don't worry about it - we all go a bit crazy in childbirth.

Congratulations to Winnie and family hope all is well.

Welcome to Dalrymps and Kitcoffey- and anyone else I have missed.

Lots of braxtons going on here and my groin is feeling strained, so body is obviously getting ready... hopefully not too long for us all now.

I'm ginormous and basically asleep 24/7 now! Baby has decided to turn herself and is now breech. Still on track fro c section on wednesday - sounds terribly close now .
Take care all x x

alicet · 11/10/2007 18:32

Yay! congratulations Greedy. I'm so pleased! I love the name story; it made me laugh out loud.

Ess has gone quiet - maybe she's popped too??

I had my hair cut and coloured today so feel more or less normal. LO wiggled a lot but don't think it flipped, so we'll see what position it's in tomorrow. Guess I'll probably be stuck at the hospital all afternoon... still, it'll take another chunk out of my 'working day' which is never bad at this stage.

I WISH I could sleep 24/7! I just can't sleep. But I'm only 37 weeks so I have ages to go yet.

Inzi, any signs? It sounds like you'll be soon, Unicorn.

Off to contort myself to encourage lo back into its previously model position...

ess · 11/10/2007 20:11

No I'm still here!!
Had sweep at 12 today and MW said I was 2-3 cm dilated already but that may be due to 2nd baby. Either way, I'm part way there already.

Huge congratulations to Greedy. I can fully empathise with your long but well worthwhile wait.

Well, MW said to try sex tonight too so must do as I'm told.

Have a good evening everyone. If you don't here from me, Winnie was my text buddy so won't contact her at mo. Think she'll have her hands full.

Have a nice evening everyone xx

MrsFish · 11/10/2007 20:23

CONGRATULATIONS Greedy, finally :D

Well I am getting quite a bit of rest and my mum has been a huge help, she has done the past two nights feeds for me, tonight is her last night, then its down to me I'm hoping I will sleep better tonight, last night my boobs were too painful they kept me awake and my stomach was sore I think I overdid things yesterday. My boobs are finally settling down after 5 days of pain and discomfort, thank god, I'm hopeful of a good night

Well we now have Ben in quite a good routine already, also with the help of Infacol he seems to be settling much better between feeds, not as much wind. He feeds every 4 hours - 8am, noon, 4pm, 8pm, midnight, 4am long may it continue when mum goes home. He hates having his nappy changed though, screams all the way through it. Took him out for the first time today, I needed to get out, I am going to go crazy stuck out in the sticks here and not being able to drive, oh well, I'll have to get used to it

Dalrymps · 11/10/2007 22:04

Hey there, thought i'd make a very small update list for us 2 newbies so...

Still Cooking....
Dalrymps - due 16th Oct
Kitcoffey - due 22nd Oct

Hope everyones doing ok today. I'm getting lots of period type pains over last few days, had it constant for 2 days but then it went this morning so i used the opportunity to indulge my nesting instict whilst I felt a bit better. I actually did a bit too much cleaning and now have a sore hip, the period pain is back too but i'm glad cause I feel like somethings happening and i'm making progress. Hope i don't give birth on mon which is the day before my due date as thats my wedding anniversary and although it would be very romantic i think ds birthday would then forever take priority - and righty so, but it would mean no more anniversary meals for me! Of course now i've said that you can guarantee thats when he'll pop out lol

kitcoffey · 12/10/2007 01:21

On the contrary Dalrymps hubby wouldn't be able to trump that anniversary pressie and you can pull it out of the bag anytime you like!

I love the B*** story it did make me laugh!

Had terrible old aches in my back coupled with Braxtons this eve, took my breath away but have stopped now, nearly called for backup but would have felt like a bit of a pudding! How do you know when to call in the family troops?

ChocolateHobnob · 12/10/2007 06:49

Hi all

Glad you're dilated Ess - good sign, surely. Hope the midwife's suggestion worked

Mrs F, I'm glad Ben is getting into a routine and you're slowly feeling better! Hopefully it won't be too long before you can drive...

Dalrymps and Kit, sounds like you're both nearly there as well! I have no advice as this is my first lo - so just good luck!

Well today is my scan. I couldnt sleep as usual and then stupid radio 4, which DH insists on using as an alarm, disturbed my first waking moments after having managed to fall asleep around 5 am, with cheerful statistics about women dying in childbirth. Great. Am putting it out of my head to go to work.

Good luck everyone - maybe there'll have been some action when I get back?!

Dalrymps · 12/10/2007 09:02

Hi everyone, thats true about my anniversary kitcoffee, hmm i'd never looked at it like that before lol , sounds like your gearing up with those BH, i haven't had any BH the whole of my pregnancy but apparently that can be common with first pregnancies. It is a pain not knowing exactly when to call people, i've only had a few 'is this it' moments that were very short lived but i don't want to call my dh away from his work an hour away for a false alarm, equally i don't want to be stuck here alone in the throws of labour cause i dodn't call him early enough! What a dilema
chochobnob - hope you manage to catch up on that sleep and that your scan goes ok, will send positive thoughts

WinnieThePooh · 12/10/2007 09:49

MrWinnie here (Winnie's in hospital right now, but I suspect that they will chuck her out later).

We went to the hospital Weds night at 6pm, with Winnie feeling fed up, full of headache and back-ache, and she was getting herself all het-up about baby.

Cue 5 hours of being monitored, being monitored again because baby kept moving, bloot-tests, headache tablets, and more monitoring, before being sent home just after 11pm. "Baby completely fine; Not in labour yet - take two of these and see if they help with the headache".

Just after 12 midnight we were on our way back in, with Winnie sure that she was in labour.

And guess what - she was right this time!

Booked in at 12.30 Thursday, monitored, moved from room to room, and finally settled in the second or third delivery room about 1.30am. Winnie decided to have a hot bath to see if it would help with the back-ache, as a prelude to asking to use the birthing pool. It didn't help one bit, so she decided not to bother with the pool either. Birthing ball requested and similarly discarded, as by the time they found where they'd hidden it, she was on the bed pulling on the gas & air like there was nothing else that mattered.

Waters broke sometime after 2.15am, and she started to push at 2.30. Baby Shula was born 30 minutes later at 3am on the dot. Which was actually pretty darned fast in my book, and largely fuss-free.

Shula weighed in at 7lbs 2oz. Baby was fairly quiet and tired after all the pushing and shoving, but was awake enough to start feeding about 30 minutes later.

Winnie found the whole thing pretty tiring (and very painful - especially as she needed a few stitches), but she was very pleased to get through it all so quickly and with just gas & air as pain relief. From the midwife's perspective, it was pretty much a perfect birth. Winnie was up and about an hour or so later, and had a bath to get cleaned up (I can't remember the last time I saw so much blood, snot and tears). She was feeling perky enough to walk to the maternity ward at 6am, with baby Shula grumbling about wanting another feed.

Here are a few pictures of Winnie and Shula, some taken taken at 4-5am, some taken midday.
picasaweb.google.com/RDewsbery/Shula

No doubt as soon as they let her out of the hospital, she'll be back on here to tell you all about it herself.

FloriaTosca · 12/10/2007 10:39

congratulations Greedy and Winnie!!!
So thrilled for you both.

greedy;lol at your "bitch" comments, my mum said something similar when I was born ..
ess...sounds like you are going to be joining the post natals soon too..
Welcome to the newbies hope to see you on the golden piglets thread soon too.
Everyone else..hang on in there...the reward is most definately worth it

Collywobbles · 12/10/2007 10:49

Morning All

Congratulations Greedy! Love the name story!

Not many of us left to go now... Dalrymps, I haven't had any BH during my pregnancy either and because I've never had a contraction I'm getting paranoid with every little twinge thinking that this is it! From what I can gather, we'll definitely know when it actually happens though.... gulp...

Don't seem to have got the whole nesting thing either - keep waiting for it to kick in but so far, nothing...So I decided to go for nexting by proxy and have just booked a cleaner to come for a one off blitz next week. Cheating a bit, but hey!

Have a lovely day everyone xxx

j20baby · 12/10/2007 10:50

Hi all

CONGRATULATIONS winnie, will check pics out at some point

CONRATULATIONS Greedy, about time! pmsl at the Bitch comment, i said something similar about getting the bitch out!!

well its just took me an hour to read through everything, and now my friends popped round so i can have a bath so can't be on long!

i've been so tired i've not managed to get on for a few days, Shannon is feeding every hour, even through the night, she's put 5 1/2 pound on since Mon!

right will try and be back later, sympathy, love and hugs to all x x x

j20baby · 12/10/2007 13:04

back quickly, agree with FT, LES and whoever else's lo's are going for a few hours- i hate you too like i say shannon feeding every hour and my nipples are peeling, also she had thrush in her mouth so had to get medication for that, roll on a 4 hour routine.

can't keep up with what everyone has said, but thinking of you all

my mw rung my docs today to get Shannon an appointment as she keeps turning blue which is a bit scarey, so he needs to listen to her heart and lungs she said.

sorry for the me me post again! am nodding again so going to put her ladyship in her pram in the garden and hopefully shelove to you all will fall asleep so i can grab a nap.

Whimsy · 12/10/2007 13:12

Sorry to crash, Cogratulations Winnie & family on the safe arrival of Shula

Whimsy · 12/10/2007 13:13

Oh, and all the other lovely October babies

alicet · 12/10/2007 15:28

Congrats Winnie! Beautiful pics too...

Ess fingers crossed all is getting going for you too... Sounds promising if you were already dilated when they did the sweep... If you want another text buddy (assuming I'm not too late!) mail me your number at alicetownend at doctors dot org dot uk and I'll text you my number...

Choc hope scan goes OK - thinking of you...

Dalrymps - my wedding anniversary is your due date! I didn't want him born then either which could have happened if I hadn't had my elective section and he'd come a week late! This wasn't the reason for section though!!!

J20 honey I'm thinking of you. Feeding every hour is really tough - Sam did this so I know how you feel! Sending big hugs to you xxx

Hello everyone else!
