For want of a better title, I'll go with Inzi's

Well then, today has all been a bit of a blur for me so far. Dropped ds off at nursery, then went to see mw at 10.30, she did a sweep (wasn't that uncomfortable by the way) and then pronounced that she thought he might still be breech so sent me off straight to hospital for a scan. Got there at 11.30, had scan.... and he is breech because she did me a sweep they don;t want to leave me over the weekend, so I am going in for a cs tomorrow morning 8am my mind is all a whirl, thought I would let you all know, and then I am going to repack my bags now I know what's happening. Will probably be in hospital till monday/tues if there are no problems. So much to sort out and do this afternoon now, must get on, will catch up with you all later, hopefully you will find this thread ok

nellieloula · 21/10/2007 23:32

Hi everyone - hope you're all well. Just to say that I am now home with my gorgeous girl, Madeleine Rose was born on Fri and weighs 6lb 8oz (you'll remember we had a section partly due to concerns about her predicted very big size ........she is tiny, a bit too early really but just stunning. Worth every bit of pain I am now feeling as I recover (had bad reaction to spinal and drugs but it was the magical birth I had so hoped for after last time). Hope the rest of you aren't waiting too long now. take care

kitcoffey · 21/10/2007 23:53

Oh all this lovely baby news, congratulations!

I am due tomorrow and had the tightest sensations under my bump and into my back, felt like someone was sawing me in half, have died off now thanks to hot water bottle, but feel very heavy down below a bit like when you get out of a pool only constantly. Nervous that I am going to be a complete wimp when the real deal starts! Forget the horrors Dal, SIL is probably just trying to make you nervy. This is your time and your spotlight so milk it!

Dalrymps · 22/10/2007 00:29

Yeah I just try to ignore her, each birth is different anyway and i'm not a competative person so I'm not really bothered how hers went, just concentrating on my lo . Hopefully your tightenings are signs of some progress, don't worry about being a wimp, theres no such thing! you might surprise yourself and cope really well but if you don't then thats what the pain relief is for! Once your little one is in your arms it won't matter how it went, you'll be so happy! I really can't wait to cuddle my lo now, so excited to see what he looks like . Thought I might have had a bit of a show today but not sure, was quite a small amount, maybe the size of a 5p and just clear jelly (sorry for TMI ), I know it can be clear or blood tinged but haven't had any more. Ah well if it was doesn't mean much cause it can be days or weeks until labour... back to waiting. Catch ya all later

MrsFish · 22/10/2007 08:48

Nellie & Honor - Congratulations on the arrival of your lo's

Muppetgirl - I had a great shopping trip yesterday, the big new shopping centre that has opened in Derby is fantastic, managed to find a dress for dh's works do that doesn't make me look like a fat trog this one I must have tried every other one in debenhams on, but with some firm control fat pants on underneath I look ok, just a size bigger than I normally am. Dh also treated me to a couple of tops and a new leather jacket which I just love to bits from Next

Hi All

it's my due date too today but I haven't felt any signs of iminent arrival so I'm not expecting any excitements...booo!

That's despite having a gin and tonic, a curry and 2 raspberry leaf tablets last night!

Congrats Nellie - I'm so pleased you got the positive experience you wanted. Welcome to little Madeleine - I love that name! We also have Rose picked out as a middle name if we have a girl!

MrsFish - that dress is GORGEOUS! I bet you look stunning in it I can't wait to start wearing normal clothes again - I've been pretty much living in the same 2 maternity dresses for the last month as none of my maternity trousers are comfortable anymore.

Dal - some hopeful news about your 'show' - let's hope it's a sign of things getting started for you. You must be getting so fed up with the wait.

Kittiwake · 22/10/2007 10:49

Morning everyone

41 weeks today for me and yet another morning waking up with nothing hapening booooooooo. have a sweep this afternoon hope that works.

Congratuations to Nellie and Honor - we also have picked out Rose as a middle name Colly!!! - if its a girl.

That dress is lovely Mrs F will be so nice to wear something other than the same old pairs of maternity jeans i have been wearing for the last 5 months.

Dal - Hope that something is happening for you, that is good positive thinking which is what I should be doing focusing on the fact that my lo will arrive at some point in the next week!

Kit- that sounds like good signs fingers crossed for you.

Hi to everyone else and positive birthing vibes especially to those of us still waiting

muppetgirl · 22/10/2007 12:03

Congratulations Honor and Nellie!

Mrs Fish soooo at your dress. Dresses and shoes to go with dresses are my weakness and I can't wait to get them back down from the spare room wardrobe.

Well, I didn;t get out of be until 9.45 this morning which was bliss as Ollie woke Grandma up at 6.15am....

Are going to soft play place with friends for coffee and are just going to sit in the corner and watch others dealw ith their lo's and relax!!

Might go to the cinema tonoght if I am still awake, is that film about the star on yet??

Speak later

muppetgirl · 22/10/2007 12:04

That post had REALLY bad spelling!!! Sorry!

kitcoffey · 22/10/2007 12:14

Hello everyone, hoping I can be cyber civil today as I have been a ratty nightmare so far! I really feel so grumpy and anti social with no idea why, everyone is being just lovely. I have shut myself in my room I am that awful, honestly I think my little band here are looking for ways to baracade me in! I feel like jogging through the streets naked as clothes feel constricting and I have all this pent up energy, believe me that would not be pretty, plus I don't do running! Hope everyone else is doing better!

Go to bed with tissues, tea and an old movie. Sounds weird but I find the kiddie calpol really effective! x

J20DemondaughterandDevilbaby · 22/10/2007 12:44

Hi all

nellie congratulations glad it was better than last time, love your little girls name too

inzi-you poor thing, i really feel for you, i had flu when pg with dd1 and its the worse thing not being able to take anything, these are for you

mrsF-lovely dress, i wore control pants on Sat night, although they didn't go far enough up and so i had a flat belly up to my navel and then overhang!

sending vibes to all those that need them to get lo's moving

Dalrymps · 22/10/2007 13:46

Hey everyone, 6 days overdue now, humf! Love your dress MrsF! would definately wear that myself, well, not at the moment! I too have been living in 2 outfits for longer than i remember, jogging bottoms are my only comfortable trousers and only have a few tops that cover my bump, can't wait to go buy a new pair of jeans once lo has been born and i've shrunk a bit!
Hey kitcoffee, know how you feel, i felt similar last night and had to frantically bounce on my birthing ball whilst naked much to dh's amusement... then my hip started to hurt from all the bouncing so had a relaxing bath... felt a bit better after that. Hope things get moving soon for you . Kittiwake - hope your sweep works, one of us will have to pop soon! Wonder if i'll get offered one tomorrow? Inzi - that flu's a real bummer, hope you get over it quick, get plenty rest! Colly - fingers crossed something happens soon for you. Muppet - glad you've caught up on some sleep, hope you have a relaxing day.
(((((((((((labour vibes to all those overdue))))))))))

ChocolateHobnob · 22/10/2007 14:29

Hi all

Inzi poor poor you! Lots of hugs! Stay in bed - hope you feel better soon.

CONGRATULATIONS HONOR AND NELLIE! How exciting! Two more little girls for our list...

Mrs Fish, I love that dress. I can't imagine being able to wear it at the mo!

Muppet, enjoy your peace without Ollie for a couple of days - hopefully you can rest.

Overdue ladies - thinking of you! Hope one lo comes soon. Kitti, the sweep may well do it! Dal - are you a week over tomorrow?

1st day of leave for me. Have packed hospital bag, made an industrial quantity of chilli and another industrial quantity of bolognaise sauce, and defrosted the freezer. Need to chill now and have a Wispa! Oh and have had 2 work calls so far (hmm!).

Time for Wispa!

Kittiwake · 22/10/2007 15:47

AAARRRRGGGHHHHHHHHHH!

Just back from midwife and she couldn't do a sweep because my stupid cervix was so "posterior" i.e. shut as tight as a clam!

The baby's head is really low but no good if there's no way out I guess booked in for induction a week today when I will be 42 weeks OHMYGOD I will go mental if I have to wait until then.

kitcoffey · 22/10/2007 16:16

Oh Kitti, what a pain! [SAD]

kitcoffey · 22/10/2007 16:23

Ok ladies, how do you cope with hormonal DP? My Mum wants to head to me (2 1/2)hours away tonight, to aid with kids and iminent arrival (one hopes)as it's half term etc.

I mention it to DP who flips his lid 'oh you won't be needing me then'

Next door neightbour has offered to watch chaps until folks arrive in an emergency, but this way if anything happens it is covered, plus lads are lively, 2 elders have ADHD and eldest Aspergers so surely better to have experienced Grandma on board?

unicorn · 22/10/2007 17:07

Dalrymps · 22/10/2007 17:32

Oh my god unicorn CONGRATULATIONS!!!, that was quick! one minute you were saying you were fed up of being overdue and now here your lo is, wow. Bet you're so happy, can't wait to hear the details once you've recovered a bit. Was starting to think we were all stuck in overdue land, maybe you've broken the spell

Hillbilly · 22/10/2007 17:54

CONGRATULATIONS Unicorn!

There's hope for the rest of us who are overdue!

Collywobbles · 22/10/2007 18:25

Fantastic news Unicorn! Congratulations Must have been only about 24 hours ago that you were setting up that overdue thread and now here you are back home with your LO!

xx

gemmamc · 22/10/2007 18:46

Cogratulations unicorn!!

We must all go hang out on the overdue thread - perhaps it will work for us too... (mind you, am not actually overdue yet as LO is due tomorrow...)

I had a bit of excitement today which ended up in nothing. Went to see community midwife for my 40 week appointment and she sent me immediately to hospital because my blood pressure had shot up and there was protein in my urine.

At the hospital they took bloods, urine and blood pressure but in the end sent me home because the blood pressure had meanwhile gone down again....have to call tomorrow though to check the blood results, because in the meantime they got concerned about my blood sugar being high.... Quite an adventure, esp because the community midwife looked so alarmed and suggested they might keep me in tonight...

Guess she overreacted, but to be honest I'd rather get checked than worry about it. Hope nothing's going on with the blood sugar though.

alicet · 22/10/2007 19:20

Congratulations HMP, nellie and unicorn! No babies for ages then loads of news at once! Look forward to seeing you (and the rest of you lovely ladies) over on postnatal very soon....

Inzi - sorry you're full on flu - hope you're better soon.

Big hugs to the rest of you! And Choc - call screen to avoid the work calls!

Lots of love x
