Beller - I've been considering that sling too in addition to the Baba and Hugababy one. Still haven't decided whether to go for it though...

Nicky6 - that's great progress! Funny you mention the Hauck - I was aimlessly wandering round Mothercare on Saturday and saw a couple of Haucks being wheeled around; they really caught my eye - shame we've already got our hand-me-down!

Barristermum - fingers crossed for a good outcome on the diagnosis. Don't feel guilty; think of all positive things you've been doing to keep the baby healthy so far and feel proud of yourself.

Naetha - thanks for the link. I've just swapped all my MBNA credit card points for a Thorntons hamper full of naughtiness. DH has resorted to putting it on a high shelf out of my reach to stop me gorging on it. I have no self control

I had a bit of a hormonal wobble yesterday, sitting despondently on the sofa for hours then bursting into tears onto a bemused dh. He thought he'd done something wrong, and was very sweet, but there was no real reason. I think I'm a just slightly overwhelmed by all this and worried about life after the birth, money and being lonely. A bit of a sleep and some Thorntons toffee cheered me up a bit though .

Amani - my dad has done a few "weird" holidays...they never have a full on sunshine hol, as my step mum suffers with skin cancer, so they never lie in the sun and she always stayed covered. They are both retired now..and doing one of these type holidays every other year! They have whitewater rafted etc as well...they crack me up! xx

mixedmama · 22/10/2007 09:48

I really want to go and stay in the Ice Hotel - I think it is in Finland or soemwhere round there. But I am a lazy hols person.

beller · 22/10/2007 12:17

Mixedmamma - my dad stayed there last feb! said it was amazing..they did dog sleighing etc...loved it...Have seen pics, looks great.

mixedmama · 22/10/2007 12:33

de want to go. Dh and I have a few on our list.

We wanted to do the Burj in Dubai and went for honeymoon... very surreal experience.

Ice Hotel - really looking forward to one day doing that.

Thailand - there is a hotel where you can learn to drive an elephant for a week and it is like your taxi from hotel to everywhere and they get to know you and stuff, cant remember name off hand, but def want to go there too.

Amani · 22/10/2007 12:52

I'd love to stay at the Burj, seen pictures of how wonderful it is.

OP posts:
beller · 22/10/2007 12:56

I stayed in the BUrj too..fantastic hotel...rooms are out of this world arnt they...found it weird having a butler at first..but we ended up having a laugh with him..The hotel in Thailand sounds fab..havnt been to Thailand, but would love to go at some point

mixedmama · 22/10/2007 13:00

TBH amani altho I enjoyed the luxury and pampering we transferred our last night to their new hotel in the desert as it is silly the attentiveness. At times felt a little invasive, but appreciate the experience and would go again (for a short time) jsut to relax.

MrsMcSpooky · 22/10/2007 13:01

Morning ladies I?ll catch up what I can before I head out to get some lunch in a few minutes ? busy morning working of all things!!

FrankA ? hope the scan goes well today all the positive responses to my question about the hospital bag has spurred me on to get mine organised so I have ordered a bag (yes, I did have to get a new one! ) and spent loads on Boots? website buying such things as anti-bac wipes for the loos, moist toilet tissue for me, ear plugs, cooling face spray and bottled water

Barristermum nice to have you back sorry to hear you are worried about GD. Glad your baby is growing well I have a growth scan this Thurs. How do you work out the centile against the measurements? Don?t beat yourself up or feel guilty hon. Good news about the heartbeat thanks for your positivism for me!

Ah, food time ? more later

mixedmama · 22/10/2007 13:02

The room was actually bigger than my flat and had 9 telephones... it was insane.

Amani · 22/10/2007 13:04

We stayed at Shagri-la in Penang, Malaysia which was pure bliss with the pampering and you feel like you are away from the whole world, would love to go again one day hopefully.

OP posts:
mixedmama · 22/10/2007 13:04

tasha21 · 22/10/2007 13:43

lol soz havent got the hang of this yet

angelcake99 · 22/10/2007 13:58

Hi Tasha21

Not sure whether you will read this, but my son who is now nearly 3 was born with a cleft lip and a notch in his gum, although his palate was not affected. I was under the care of the Nottingham Left lip team, who were good, and kept an eye on how much milk he was taking, and also gave me advice and support. Are you being looked after by a team locally to you? You could also go on the clapa web site, which has loads of info and a chat board where people who have clefts or have children with clefts usually post, it can be good to chat to others in a similar position. Hope that helps a little bit xx

angelcake99 · 22/10/2007 13:59

Sorry... that should be the nottingham CLEFT lip team lol xx

nicky6 · 22/10/2007 14:10

just a quickie as at work and meant to be working but at the baby show they had this Premaxx sling bag which looked quite good as it was like a normal sling but had pockets and stuff at the ends to put stuff in i thought very handy and just babies were doing them for £20 i think .... just a thought.

Glad you saw a hauck and thought it looked ok - it just seems for the price and the features and extras that its a really good deal?????

MrsMcSpooky · 22/10/2007 14:47

Back again

Hi Naetha those chocs sound like a plan (thing is will they last in my house to be given away as pressies?! ) how are you feeling? How are the ulcers? Any better?

Hello Lilyloo ? I am hopeless at ebay, I haven?t won anything yet No one came to our open viewing again this Sunday how are you keeping?

Ayrehsirelolo ? nice to see you back, did you have a nice holiday? Where were you? good point about the number of Mondays left before mat leave, I have 8 left now! I finish up on 21/12.

Madmouse ? have a great trip and take care

Nicky6 ? that?s great that you got to the Baby Show, I am v I mentioned it to DH ages ago, said we could drive down, stay with my sis and make a weekend of it but DH was worried that it was going to be too expensive ? though he is probably right! that nursery furniture sounds fab ? well done!! does this mean that the spare room is now officially a nursery? I saw that buggy in a couple of shops I?m impressed by your stamina at that do!

Beller ? the naughty dreams have turned into nasty ones, I had a dream I was mugged and was being kicked on the ground last night bring back the filth!! wow, your Dad is off to Antarctica, in Jan! business or pleasure? - I see it is pleasure, bet it will be amazing! Those fleece slings look very snugly I cuddled my friend?s 4 week son at the weekend, so sweet, made me really eager to meet Beanie

Hello MM I like the look of that ice hotel too, think it?s in Sweden? DH?s b?day is 13/2 and I?ve always dreamed of taking him there one year but I haven?t managed it yet I saw a programme about the making of the Burj, amazing!! We were in Thailand on honeymoon. We saw and fed elephants but I was glad we didn?t go on one, just sort of felt it wouldn?t have been fair to them ? incredible creatures though

Hey Amani I remember my nephew being like that when we took him to the safari park too! I know what you mean about the hospital bag panic, it hit me too! I?d love to go to Malaysia.

Hello MrsBiscuit ? MBNA points? I?ve had a card for years and don?t know anything about points ? maybe I have a stack saved up I was feeling a bit emotional this weekend too.

Welcome Tasha21 but I think this is the wrong thread for you hon, we are all still waiting to pop! congratulations on your new baby

What are your thoughts on a child having the initials ?ARM? is it an issue??

mixedmama · 22/10/2007 14:52

Amani · 22/10/2007 15:02
