Cazzybaby · 02/10/2007 14:26

Hiya Juicy - we are due on the same date! And I also have a very small bump!

sabinar · 02/10/2007 14:31

hey Juicy.

I have a smallish bump but have noticed if I wear a black top, no one notices I'm pregnant. If I wear a colourful or better still, white top, it's much more obvious. So, I wear black for work all the time and colours in non-work time

Amani · 02/10/2007 14:32

small meals often mean you eat more!!

I've started to have peppermint tea with my evening meal, which is helps digestion otherwise I usually feel really bloated afterwards.

Just went out and bought a lovely deep blue top for my interview, which covers my bump nicely. Fingers crossed now....

What day is it Amani so i remember to ask how it went??

Amani · 02/10/2007 14:40

Friday am - please send me loads of postive thoughts...(I just know they will judge me based on my bump - but at least I've tried)

Good experience regardless and at least you know that if you want these kind of jobs later on you have what it takes to get an interview and then ultimately the job.

chunkypudding · 02/10/2007 14:52

Ooo new thread...

Haven't managed to keep up this morning, my tuesday whinge is that I'm having a horrible, horrible day at work and my brain seems to have forgotten how to sleep properly so I'm stupidly overtired and don't really feel like coping with it!

I WANT TO GO HOME!!! end of whinge. for now.

Know what you mean about small meals Neuro - where's the fun in that? I tend to stuff myself and then have to eat half a pack of rennies to calm the acid indigestion/slightly sicky feeling....

beller · 02/10/2007 14:58

found you all!

Welcome Juicy!

Will be thinking of you friday amani!

Im off to see Ricky Gervais tonight..I really liked the office, but never seen him "stand up" hope he is funny. Its a friends 40th birthday and we have a box! really looking fdw to it...also have tomorow off as i have midwife apt, blood tests and carpets being fitted! Still no computer at home, so wont be on tomorrow..bet it takes me all thursday mng to catch up!

With the BF thing, im a bit nervous about feeding in public too..but hoping a BF top and well placed blanket/muslin will help?

mixedmama · 02/10/2007 15:00

enjoy beller....

Amani · 02/10/2007 15:01

chunky - hope u feel better soon.

Got a 'general ability verbal test' on Friday am too - what the heck is that? Is that just a posh way of saying another interview?

OP posts:
Cazzybaby · 02/10/2007 15:02

Beller - he is ment to be really good live have fun evening!!

mixedmama · 02/10/2007 15:05

blimey- no idea what that is, prob one of those ptests where they ask you questions and the answer will be obvious "i am tidy etc"

MamaMaiasaura · 02/10/2007 15:23

thing i found hardest about bf in public to begin with was that i had a fast let down at which point ds would pull off and i wuld spray milk Ds never drank from bottle as completely rejected dummys and bottle. Not even buying bottles this time. Might get another avent hand pump for when engorged.

Ds has another milkshake for lunch. Lots of tears this time. All he says will make him better is cuddles. Been cuddl;ing all day. Just having quick breather! He has spent all day on sofa again. I did get a giggle out of him tho.

Love the new thread

Re feeding in public a tip i have been given is to weara vest top under top as vest top will cover tummy. Ds nudging me for more snugs so going to have to go again.

mixedmama · 02/10/2007 15:26

Ahhh missing hugs with DS now... pleased he seems on the up.

MamaMaiasaura · 02/10/2007 15:29

fingers crossed mixedmama Am not pushing food at all now. Just drinks. Still high temp but still has antibiotics to take so i guess to be expected.

mixedmama · 02/10/2007 15:32

He sounds like he is perking up tho if not feeling better physically. Did you get the homework off the school in the end? I remember you werent too keen? Presumably he wouldnt be able to do it anyway at the moment.

beller · 02/10/2007 15:33

quick question...

Braxton hicks....are they not painful, just a "tightening" of the tummy? keeps happening..

mixedmama · 02/10/2007 15:35

yep. glad your meeting went ok, sorry you have so much to do in such little time tho.

MamaMaiasaura · 02/10/2007 15:37

beller - tightening, uncomfortable at times. Been having them on and off for nearly 2 weeks.

Mixedmama - got an extra reading book. Done nothing tho and dont plan too till he is back to himself. Mood wise he is perking up a bit i think

Def going now. xxx Speak later

Cazzybaby · 02/10/2007 15:42

Awen - poor DS hope he is enjoying all his cuddles

Beller - I think I have been having them for a few weeks my bump goes rock solid its sooooo wierd!

beller · 02/10/2007 15:42

yeah ive had them for a while...was only happening when at the gym..but happening during the day now...

Yeah, not going to be easy at work...get up at 5.45 then entertain after work.Would try and make some of them lunches, but have to introduce them to the desk..so desk has to have cover....Will work something out!

sabinar · 02/10/2007 15:53

Good luck Amani!

I'd be feeling the same as you are re: the bump... the only advice I'd suggest is to have thought through the possibly inappropriate (and perhaps appropriate re: leave etc.) questions they'll ask and have worked out how you're going to respond. Stay cool

juicylovehandles · 02/10/2007 16:26

Cazzybaby, I'm glad there is someone else out there with a small bump, I was starting to get paranoid like people don't actually believe I'm pg! Do you know if you're having a boy or girl?

Neuro I know what you mean about feeling sick if you haven't eaten for 2 hours. I thought it would have stopped by now but there you go! I can't do small meals either, I love my food too much!

Sabina that's a good idea about top colour co-ordination. I tend to just wear tight tops in hope that I will get offered a seat on the tube....fat chance!!!

sabinar · 02/10/2007 16:47

lol. that's another of my strategies... if I'm having a day when I really can't bear the idea of standing on the tube, I always go for a white top. Makes the belly look about three times bigger, that combined with appalling posture generally scores me a seat on the tube.

(lol. how terrible am I!)
