He?s so cute Awen will look at your other thread.

Amani ? around all day and would love to see your photos. BVI is British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. This morning already I have had a bowl of fruit and fibre, a glass of grapefruit juice, a litre of water, a hot chocolate, a fruit scone and a bacon roll

Amani · 18/10/2007 10:41

Done Mrs McSpooky!

Can you believe I've got a parents evening at the nursery for DD (21 mths) think it's quite funny as I speak to the nursery staff everyday about DD progress - hope she's been a good girl!

Re meetup - I hope you all have a lovely time London is very hard for me to get too and as silly as it sounds, as i dont know london very well (more of a country bumpkin) I would feel very vulnerable travelling up there.

MIxedmamma - your list sounds so organised that it inspired me to try and organise myself for xmas - started writing out xmas cards and signed them from all of us and then bump.. now wondering what happens if he puts in a appearance early.. will i need to re-do cards I am also determinded to set myself a housework schedule as i end up mumsnetting instead of sorting house

Amani - Just had some pains and panicked. 2 stone isnt too much (i put on alot with ds1.. around 4 stone poss more iirc) So far about 10kg but was poorly for a bit. Have munched mini mars bar already today

Sabinar - PMSL at your dream.. was it Patrick Swayze in his dirty dancing days? Have a lovely time in Barcelona xx

Beller - Good for you for having cleaner. I would love someone just to come and give bathroom a clean & do the ironing & windows (my pet hates). I am hoping ot clean out all my cupboards etc... keep putting it off tho

Pink Elephant - your weight gain sounds perfectly normal and fine to me I left work with ds1 at 36 weeks iirc due to pregnancy related stuff. GOod job to as he arrived 2 weeks later! If you are really struggling you can always look at an earlier leave date.

Lilyloo - How exciting to plan for home birth. I am a little as would love a home birth. Not an option here unfortunately.

I went to sisters yesterday and she gave me 10 bags of clothes for ds1! Absolutely fab as mostly GAP, quicksilver etc and ds loves them as they were his cousins and he idolises him . THat is his wardrobe sorted for the next 3 years pretty much. Only need to get some trousers and underwear for him.

Overdid things a bit in the end yesterday (including running to school from car as was late not a pretty sight!)
Had some worrying cramps but started another thread about it.

FrankAwenstein · 18/10/2007 10:45

Meant to say as well

MrsMc - lol @ your naughty dreams! We watched Heroes last night as well. I was up 5 times in the night so no time for naughty dreams here

Housemum · 18/10/2007 10:49

Pink elephant - being a list person & anal (hi mixedmama, us mediterranean types must have something in common!) i have a chart plotted on squared paper - total weight gain to date 18lbs at 29 weeks (average for this stage 19lbs according to "What to Expect When You're Expecting") - I weigh myself every Saturday and plot my weight against the average (sad, sad individual...)

MrsMc - have you asked your local NCT about breastfeeding counsellors? You don't have to be a member to get support. Perhaps they have someone in your area. In some places the LaLeche league have drop in "breastfeeding cafes" but I think they are the militant breast-feeding army so they might be a bit scary! NCT are more "we want you to try but don't beat yourself up if you don't"

My goals are to get every item of clutter gone - easier said than done! I have chucked out a load of old photos and put the rest in albums - have bought a load of pages and a binder to store the negatives, will get my labelling machine out to put the date/place on each page of film. I figure that if I have less stuff it'll be easier to clean. Problem with me is sentimental hoarding. Daft - I kept DD1's pushchair "in case" even though I didn't think I'd use it again so of course by now it's only worth Freecycling as it's so old, whereas if I'd got rid at the time I could have got some money for it. Still, as this is the third-and-last I will eBay/NCT sale everything as soon as it's outgrown.

Housemum · 18/10/2007 10:55

Oh yes, re pictures on profiles, you can look at my DD2 on mine but it's not the best likeness

This one's better DD2

FrankAwenstein · 18/10/2007 11:04

Housemum - she is simply gorgeaus

MrsMcSpooky · 18/10/2007 11:06

Ohh Amani ? she is adorable

FrankA ?

Housemum ? I weigh myself every Weds and am keeping a list too. I?m not being very careful but as long as I am in line with the average I?m happy, actually total weight gain at 27+1 is 14 pounds (I lost 2 pounds this week somehow!) I have to say, I have been pretty disappointed in the lack of NCT presence here, I still don?t know if I am going to get into classes or not and I?d really like to. I?ll ask about BF counsellors, a good way to ask again about the classes thanks for the tip. Lovely pics

Amani · 18/10/2007 11:12

thanks spooky! . Yes she is the centre of my world (with DH of course!)

Housemum - soooo cuttteee!!!

MrsMcJnr - where I lived before we had a breastfeeding suppoort group within Surestart, not sure if these are national, but these are trained mums in a peer support group who come round and visit you and help you to get the grasp of it, there are normally drop in places as well, but my one was very scary and the MW running it was awful.

Ahhh very soon ladies we will be posting pics of our newborns.

beller · 18/10/2007 11:22

Pinkelephant- Im leaving on 30th november and ill be 36 weeks too...have a weeks holiday , then maternity leave starts...m on 4 day weeks for NOvember though..have every wed off! I am 30 weeks now and have put on 18lbs..I found this site www.paternityangel.com/Preg_info_zone/Weight/CalcWeight.htm is cool..or scary hahaha

Mrsmcspooky - must have been something in the air last night as i had a naughty dream last night too makes a change from being chased by T-rex down the street though! hahaha

MrsMcSpooky · 18/10/2007 11:24

Beller - am I going nuts? I can't see any posts from Pinkelephant?! very confused.

Amani · 18/10/2007 11:27

Great - am 1/2 stone over the recommended weight.

sideways · 18/10/2007 11:33

MrsMc - I had a lot of support from La Leche League and found them great, not militant at all. at you going to the BVI - I lived there for a few years, so if there's anything at all you want to know before you go out there, just ask . A fellow Mner moved out there last year too.

Mixedmama - I bow down before you and your incredible plan for after the baby is born. I don't do even a fraction of that now and certainly won't be starting any time soon. It's great that you can be that organised though.

Housemum - gorgeous picture

PinkElephant · 18/10/2007 11:43

Frankawenmstein - phew all normal then . I'm happy to continue with work as late as possible really. I have a week A/L then its xmas, then mat leave will start 2nd Jan. I then only have 10days to wait.....that is if everything happens to time, I could be twiddling my thumbs for a while if baby is late hense me not wanting to stop earlier. Then again if low lying placenta does not move then it will be c.section at the beginning of Jan I guess

Beller - ah thats ok then so I seem to be doing what everyone else is doing. Just can't imagine going any further than 36wks as I already feel a bit sluggish.

Housemum - you are not sad at all!! At first I wasn't bothered about weight as I seemed to put on very little, which actually worried me as you worry for baby rather than yourself don't you? But in the last month talk about rapid weight gain!!! Am worried it will continue at this alarming rate . We'll be known as "baby sumo" and the "whoppa of a mother" tee hee

MrsMcSpooky · 18/10/2007 11:43

Oh Sideways - that would be fab It's my Dad's 60th so he's organising it all but he has rented a villa on Virgin Gorda and a CAT so hopefully we'll be island hopping a lot. There will be 7 adults and 3 kids including Beanie. I will need to look into the jags we need, DH and I are boostered up with the usual suspects but I guess Beanie will need something. My folks have been there a few times and love it there

sabinar · 18/10/2007 11:43

am I the only one who is not weighing herself? Seriously... I don't want to know. Will deal with the consequences afterwards

MrsMcSpooky · 18/10/2007 11:44

Ah there you are Pinkelephant

PinkElephant · 18/10/2007 11:48

Hi MrsMcSpooky!! . How are you? I haven't been MN'ing for yonks as not really felt up to it with my Dad being so poorly, but its lovely to jump back on and see how all you "oldies" are doing. Is it all going well for you?

sideways · 18/10/2007 11:48

sabinar - I am not weighing myself either. Haven't done so for about a month and no intention of starting now!

Meant to say - MrsMc and sabinar - thanks for the info on mantego. I will happily chomp away now, probably with the odd glass of wine to accompany it .

Hmm, probably not the best time to start weighing myself anyway

sideways · 18/10/2007 11:52

MrsMc - feel free to CAT me anytime about the BVI

MrsMcSpooky · 18/10/2007 11:53

Lovely to see you too Pinkelephant - how is your Dad hon? are you keeping well? I'm good thanks and Beanie seems to be doing well too. I have a 28 week growth scan next week so though I am nervous as usual I'm excited to see Beanie again too!

PinkElephant · 18/10/2007 12:03

MrsMcSpooky - Glad to hear all is well for you. I think once you have had a bad experience like we've had earlier this year you do become a little anxious about the scans etc but we've got to be positive haven't we? These little beanies are strong....well cetainly mine must be as it has listen to my crying over my Dad at the moment....poor little thing . Thanks for asking about my Dad. He's getting frailer and frailer by the day and I think he is desperately hanging on to meet his 4th grandchild in Jan....just hope to god he can. We weren't going to find out the sex of the baby but I caved in because he asked if he could know incase he isn't around....all very exciting and heartbreaking at the same time. Must go before I start crying again, can feel eyes welling up......

madmouse · 18/10/2007 12:29

Pinkelephant I hope your Dad will hang in there to meet his grand child. We are in the same position. DH's mum is in a care home in Holland and this will probably be her only grand child. She is doing reasonably well at the moment being looked after much better, but it is DH's nightmare that she will pass away before that. Thinking of you! .

Sabinar, I have not weighed myself since falling pregnant, MW has done it once at 14 weeks. I have a complicated relationship with weight and don't want to stire negative emotions. Feeling good with bump and plan to start Weight Watchers at 6 weeks after dr's check.

Happy birthday to me . Bit of an odd one, as I am working til 8 tonight (home by 10) and DH is on placement tonight and home even later...

mixedmama · 18/10/2007 12:36

Happy Birthday Madmouse.

Madmouse... I have a small list of ladies on the December thread that are going to be being weight loss buddies once we are all ready... you know tips and ideas and stuff as well as weekly weigh ins and things.... i can add you to my list for when i start the thread... I suspect i will put it in weight loss rather than the post natal, of course any one else who wants to join can of course. I was overweight before I got pregnant and had just started losing the weight so have quite an emotional attachment to it all..
