mixedmama · 17/10/2007 12:01

I am new to Facebook myself. I think when i accept you as a friend then you are able to view my friends then you can just click ADD or REQUEST.

Amani · 17/10/2007 12:04

Beller - if you go to MM profile and find Neuro and Angechia profiles, then click on them and it should give you an option to invite them
Cazzybabes- have a lovely holiday, enjoy it before the LO arrives.

Anyone watched Bringing up Baby last night? Although I disagree with CV, I did the couple whose twins slept from 7am - 7pm - we still haven't achieved that with DD who is 21 mths!

Didnt watch it last night. Watched spooks instead which was fab.

madmouse · 17/10/2007 12:13

I finally got to watch it last night and all parents seem really happy with what they have achieved. I guess it depends on what your goal is. I am not sure it is so important for me to throw a big party in my house that it is worth forcing my baby in a routine for. I have waited long enough for this little one. I found it interesting that both the routine couples and the continuum couples had their bedroom lives back on track, with the Sock couples struggling.

mixedmama · 17/10/2007 12:14

I didnt watch it, DH has just completely vetoed it... also funny but I am not finding it that interesting when I do watch, which is strange cos normally I cant get enough of things like this. I sort of agree with the thought process of CV, it all makes very logical sense....it is the fact that compassion and mothers instincts etc are ignored and the length of time the babies are left to cry and the lack of comfort I have a problem with.

FrankAwenstein · 17/10/2007 12:16

just uploaded some more pics of ds1 he is sooo srcummy

nicky6 · 17/10/2007 12:17

Beller i think on kiddicare they ave those chairs for less than £100 that was the cheapest i could find.

Antenatal class tonight dealing with "the birth" including video of a birth. Unfortunately also the england game so Dh is saying that he is not coming. Got very cross yesterday when he said this, but given that the info handed over in the 2 hour slot could actually be done in 15 mins i will try to beat him up only a little bit. Very annoying though.

Feeling a bit better today but still not great.

Hope everyone is feeling well. x

mixedmama · 17/10/2007 12:17

That is interesting, but I think those kind of things depend on so much more than just whether baby is in a routine or not, altho I guess that helps. I think they all have good logical thought processes, just some of the methods are (to me) slightly strange including the continuum method and what exactly is the Spock method, seems to actually be saying do what feels right - find it weird that a book was needed for that.

Neuro · 17/10/2007 12:18

Morning all

I feel really odd today. I am a bit hypo glycaemic usually but in last 24 hours all my energy has been zapped. Had to get up and walk out of a presentation this morning just to sit outside and gulp fresh air. All i wanted to do was lie on the ground and breathe deeply. Perhaps I should call midwife and get blood pressure and stuff checked?

I'm not sleeping particuarly well but doens't feel necessary like tiredness.

Beller Amani's advice on how to add me and Angechica on FB is good. I just tried adding myself to a network so you could narrow your search of me, but FB is playing up on me.
As for what gift to buy ourselves, well, as I am totally thinning out my worldly possessions, something i have wanted to do for a longtime is buy myself a (probably) expensive all rounder handbag. I have lovely cream coloured one from Karen MIllen that was about £150, so would love a new black one. I'm thinking of a very simple medium sized Chanel bag that i'll use for years and years, which i'd cherish much more than buying say a new handbag every year for next 10 years.

Basically i just want one of everything that i need in life, but am willing to spend quite a bit now so that i\ve got it for a very longtime.

Actually i'd love a decent watch - is anyone on here knowledgable about watches? I'd like something Rolex-y in style - so i can wear gold and silver jewelwerry with it, but a good enough watch so i don't have to ever buy a new one.

I'm totally rambling. sorry.

Amani · 17/10/2007 12:19

Awen - your DS is cute with the missing front teeth. .

mixedmama · 17/10/2007 12:19

Ohhh I love his hair.... DH wont let me grow DS's

i am going to upload one of my little one now as my cousin has sent me soem pics... from last october but hey....

Neuro · 17/10/2007 12:22

Or a nice diamond ring since i don't have a chap to buy me one!

By the way, I'm far from rich everyone, but i am in process of selling my flat so quite fancy treating myself to something really special to mark my soon to be motherhood. Would be lovely if i had a daughter and then could pass on whatever i decide to buy to her later on when she turns 21 or something. I'd have been over the moon if my mum had given me a (vintage) Chanel bag!

mixedmama · 17/10/2007 12:25

Rado watches are fab.... I agree with the one of each fab things thinking Neuro.... have just added designer handbag to my list that DH could buy me as a pressie.

Neuro - ladies on Dec thread were looking for you.

FrankAwenstein · 17/10/2007 12:27

mixedmamma - tell me when uploaded Ds has refused all haircuts except he mentioned having it cut this morning! I am not going ot take him to hairdressers immediately as he only just mentioned it. I said that he needs to think about it and decide what he wants.

Amani - he has an adult tooth just peeping through and he is trying to push it back as he wants to be a little boy and doesnt want to be big boy.. my little peter pan

I have a facebook profile, not piublic tho as yet as not done it all properly and also sounds addictive when sorted will post name.

I just popped onto new december thread and they are talking about lists for planning for xmas - sounds like a very good plan and will be doing similar i think as not long to xmas, do not want to trapse around shops and also baby due around then.

Neuro will give that a go...
I was lucky enough to be bought a diamond rolex 3 xmas's ago by my then fiance..Must admit i do like it, but not the best time keeper
I would get your blood pressure checked out..im just back f
rom the gym and felt a bit faint today, but i had just been on treadmill..you were stationary! Always best to be on the safe side x
I think I will buy myself a ring...Would it be REALLY weird if i used the diamond out of my engagement ring (from marriage, offered it back but wanted me to keep it), and design a new one with it? Its such a beautiful diamond and wasted at mom as it dosnt fit on the other hand?
