Morning all...

Mrsmcjnr - that really made me laugh xx

Amani - Good luck for today!!!!!!!

Mixedmamma - come back we miss you!!

So what do we do for this toilet roll thingy? just biggest part , how many sections it takes?

beller · 12/10/2007 08:41

My dreams are getting increasingly bizzare! I dreamt last night the the sugarbabes were assasinated! Then i was supposed to go on holiday, but there was a plot to blow up the plane..so they put us on a train...to Dubai!!
Plus in the middle of all this i had legs cramps and was flying round the bedroom in pain......

MrsBiscuit · 12/10/2007 08:58

Morning

So many messages in one day!

MW went fine yesterday, and I finally found out what blood type I am. Not very exciting for most people but I've always been amazed that we are not routinely told.

Thanks for all the info on the nursing chair - definitely going to get one now.

Beller - nice news about the maternity pay
Awen - good news on dp's deal. Wish it were similar this end, but quite the opposite with dh unlikely to get any time off and probably unable to get up in the night to help with the baby (job-related sleep requirements - or so he tells me ).

Sideways - I mentioned slings to dh in passing and it turns out he'd been flicking through the BM catalogue and has selected that sling as being one he'd be happy to wear. I think it looks very comfy too, so we'll give it a go.

MrsMcJ - not me with Clexane. Not sure what it is..

Good luck with the job interview Amani, let us know how it goes.

FrankAwenstein · 12/10/2007 09:32

Mrs Biscuit - glad mw appointment went well Know what you mean about blood groups.

Ds not wanting to go to his dads today, first time he is going there in a month as he dad visited him here last. I am going to miss him as we have been together alot recently where he has been poorly too. Weird with him at school. I am a soppy sod

Beller - Freaky dream! Yes the widest part of bump with toilet roll.. go on and do it I am the only silly brave person to have tried it

fluffymummy · 12/10/2007 10:23

Amani - good luck hon Let us know how it went when you get back!

Not sure about this bog roll thing....altho lots of you are due before me (I'm 24th Jan) but even so, bit scared of being revealed as a great big fatty....

Angechica · 12/10/2007 10:38

SusieMJ - Have added a pic so you can see my mega bump size - and that was at 25 weeks.

I have grown about 5 extra chins as well.

susiemj · 12/10/2007 10:39

Morning ladies,

Has a very sore night! DH bought asprin instead of paracetamol last night, so I couldn't take any pain relief for my SPD at night. Now I'm feeling very sorry for myself. Ouch!

OK. I've taken the plunge on the toliet roll thing after looking at the 'belly gallery' pictures. I accept now that everyone is different and I am not a freak. I'm 9 and a bit.

Glad employers are being reasonable with DPs/Hs. I hope yours steps quietly into line Naetha.

I've got to heave my aching bones down to the MW today. I'll keep you posted.

Amani- Good luck on interview.

beller · 12/10/2007 10:53

Right im 8 toilet segments....thats the cheapo roll from work! hahaha

susiemj - sorry to hear about your bad spd night...xx

fluffymummy · 12/10/2007 11:16

FrankAwenstein · 12/10/2007 11:26

safe journey Beller. Hope weekend goes ok and dont do too much. xx

fluffymummy · 12/10/2007 11:35

I didn't think I was having cravings but have just noticed that my marmite consumption has increased exponentially. I just realised I've spent the last 30 mins on a conf call eating a pot of marmite with a teaspoon....

FrankAwenstein · 12/10/2007 11:41

marmite.. ewwww wont even risk trying it in pregnancy incase i have a taste for it. Love the paddington advert tho, i so relate to the seagull!

madmouse · 12/10/2007 12:02

Fluffymummy that is a lot of marmite . But then I am Dutch, I don't 'get' marmite, or baked potatoes,or marmalade.

Frankawenstein I had loads of callipos in the early months. They seemed to help with sickness, although nobody else understood that bit.

gingeme · 12/10/2007 12:50

Good afternoon ladies. Bump measures 9 squares of Aloe Vera Andrex exactly
Though I was told by a Mum at playgroup that I have grown suddenly since last week
We have bare floor in our front room today. Dh pulled our old wood laminate up as it was all chipped and bumpy. Him and his friend are going to lay new and more expensive stuff tommorrow. Cant wait
Excelent news about your pay beller. Dont spend it all in one place!
Fruitful it sounds like your doing well too. Are you on a maternity ward or a normal ladies ward?
Re pregnancy outbursts dh is just irritating me constantly at the moment. He seems to have his 'thick' head on today. Glad Im going to get my hair cut later to get me out of his way for a while.
Im off to my gp later. Ive got thrush and its so itchy. I get it each month before my period anyway and every pregnancy so Ill get some magic cream and it will be cleared up in a few days.
Well have a good weekend all. Take care xx

MrsMcJnr · 12/10/2007 13:38

Ladies ? I am 9 squares of loo roll ? I take it most squares are the same size? I?m 26+3.

Feeling a bit low left my pussy cat to be x-rayed this morning at the vet as her leg hasn?t got any better since she started the anti-inflammtories on Monday. I?m working from home and it feels so odd at home without my big, black, fluffy cat I have to pick her up at 4.30 but I feel all queasy and have a nervous tummy from worry. So silly I know

Anyone watch Brothers & Sisters? Both DH and I were in floods of tears last night watching Thursday?s episodes.

Susiemj ? LOL see, you?re the same as the rest of us ! the brave ones that is! sorry about the SPD

Oh Madmouse ? I?ll have to look at that site LOL at your not ?getting? those things, I was brought up abroad and don?t get lots of things either ? like piccalilli, Bovril, baked beans, spaghetti hoops etc

Amani ? that?s a nice name all the best for the interview!!!!!

Fruitful ? sorry to hear about the Clexane jags, I guess they just want to keep your blood moving when you are inactive. Where are they doing them? I?m still doing them in my belly as that is what I am used to. It does sting if you let the meds out before your inject. That?s good to hear about them making people wash their hands (do you think I can insist that anyone who touches my baby does that?!) Maybe I?ll add portable fan and shorts for DH to my hospital bag list! What?s the score with the other ladies in with you? Aren?t I nosey?!

FrankAwenstein ? I am bigger and a few weeks behind you! that?s fab about DH?s paternity leave ? mine will be off for about 4 weeks too depending on when the baby is born, he gets a week paid and a week unpaid but has enough hols to carry that he won?t need the unpaid week to be off for 4 hope your DP doesn?t have to go abroad too soon after the baby arrives. Gosh ? a cross dressing husband ? that must be interesting!

Beller ? what on earth did you eat/drink before bed?! how are you feeling now? Have a lovely time in Wales x

Sorry MrsB it is another MrsB! Clexane is heparin. I inject it daily because I have a blood clotting disorder that could lead to clots and issues with the baby and me. We?re fine though ? so far so good Glad all went well at the MW. I?m fascinated by blood groups so can see why you are pleased to know now! Sorry to hear your DH won?t be able to ease the night slack for you

Fluffymummy ? don?t be a chicken!! Ugghhh marmite.

That?s a fab bump Angechica I?ll post one of mine last week!

Gingeme ? sorry to hear about the thrush

MrsMcJnr · 12/10/2007 13:40

Checking name!

MrsMcSpooky · 12/10/2007 13:41

grrr - I should be Spooky now!

MrsMcSpooky · 12/10/2007 13:41

I am Spooky

susiemj · 12/10/2007 15:30

Afternoon Everyone,

How did Amani get on?!!

McSpooky - Hope your cat is ok. My stepmother just had her kitten 'done' and the kitten now keeps clinging to her like a needy toddler. The cat flings herself in the air to get to her.

Have just been to midwife. Bump is doing fine although 2cm (big deal, I know) bigger than 'big baby' measurement on the fundal doo-dah. My husaband weighed 12lb when he was born! Midwife says the baby doesn't feel like a whopper though, and there's no sign of GD, so you're probably right about the fluid Fruitful (hope you're still continuing to improve - any more noises about you going home?)

Am off to take my paracetamol. I don't usually during the day but am indulging myself after horrendous last night.

Have a good afternoon.

MomBanks · 12/10/2007 16:46

what a delight i am working from home today and can actually catch up with everyone!

even more delightful i have just had my indulgence of the day - an iced mince pie! i know it is strange to eat them in mid-October but they are in the shops so why not.

love the loo roll test - i am 8 and a half squares at exactly 28 weeks.

also interesting to hear how all of your dh/dp's are adjusting to the idea of bumps - i've found the bringing up baby series really helpful b/c we are watching it together and it sparks some good discussions about how we want to raise ours......

had first NCT classes last night - very enjoyable! not sure that the teacher was really an expert in the field, however she was very nice and more importantly all the other couples there were very friendly.

have a good weekend everyone.

MrsMcSpooky · 12/10/2007 17:29

Susiemj ? I have her back now, her leg is in plaster and she is going round in circles, poor pussy they don?t really know what?s wrong, nothing structural but a week of resting it might help. Is your stepmum?s cat a Siamese by any chance? Glad you got on well at the MW . I was 1cm over last time I was at the MW, she wasn?t worried though ? I guess babies grow at different rates. At my growth scan at 24 weeks the baby was measuring at the highest range of normal so that was good ? it weighed 1lb7 at that stage ? maybe I?ll ask them to stop telling me if/when the weight gets past 7lb! 12lb husband! what did you weigh at birth? Hope you get a better night?s sleep tonight!!

Hello MomBanks working from home is bliss isn?t it? you?ve made me feel festive I am making my Christmas cakes next weekend wow ? you are doing better than me with that waistline ? I?m not even 27 weeks yet and am bigger My DH was refusing to watch BUB but I made him this week for the very reason you stated, it does spark interesting discussions. I think DH?s main worry at the mo is financial, I know he?d like nothing more than to be able to fund me staying at home after the baby and not going back to work but I know we can?t afford that. Very of your NCT classes ? even though I enquired back in July, there are not enough teachers here to meet the demand and though I might be able to get into a weekend course in November or December, I am not holding my breath my doula is an NCT tutor though so I am sure she can give me some guidance but it won?t be the same as going to the classes with other Mums to be in my area.

susiemj · 12/10/2007 17:39

MrsMcSpooky, you are truly spooky! Yes, the cat IS part siamese (although she's ginger - very pretty combination). Cat's don't understand things like rest very well, do they? Ginger siamese kept trying to climb the piano stool with a day-old scar and wondering why she couldn't do it.

I was 8lb6 when I was born, so I hope our daughter takes after me! I am feeling like the cat's whiskers today as midwife said the baby would have a very good chance if she were born now. I know this is true for everyone at my stage but still feel like celebrating.

McSpooky and Mombanks - Glad you like working from home as that's what I'll be doing once this one is born - at least that's the plan!

MrsMcSpooky · 12/10/2007 17:51

Susiemj ? LOL, I?ve read that a lot of Siamese cats can be very clingy like babies, so can some other Asian varieties so I just wondered from what you said if that was part of the issue! She sounds very pretty you can see my furry babies on my profile if you are interested I am a sad, sad lady I know. It is totally worth celebrating viability I agree with you, those are such precious words. Friends had their baby 10 weeks early but he weighed 3lb5 and came out screaming and is doing fab! what do you do for a living? I wish I could work from home all the time but sadly, its just a pregnancy concession they?ve allowed me as I have a long commute and a stressful job and they know my blood pressure is already high and they want me to last until 37 weeks at work! Hope your baby?s weight is more like yours I was 6lb14 (month early) and DH was 7lb7 so I am hoping for something in between!
