Anyone else find out there due in April 2021. Just found out yesterday that's I'm pregnant with our first baby, we only started trying about 6/7weeks ago so this has been the best news ever. Would love to have some other mummies that are due around that same time to experience this with.

I've got stronger cramps this morning, but I am extremely dehydrated. Trying to not worry, no spotting or anything else, will try to drink loads of room temp water today and see what happens!

Tiff94 · 06/08/2020 08:22

@Ltay2 I think cramping is rather normal as long as it's not too painful. I've had them on and off since I found out and there like twinging pulling stitch like feelings mostly only in one side. I've read a lot on here on other thread that most have cramping during early days and even throughout and it still be okay. I'd say it's fine unless there really worst then AF ones. Hopefully everything g is fine for you xx

@Tiff94 Yeah I think so too, still can't stop worrying though even though I know it's normal 🙈 mine aren't really painful definitely nowhere near as bad as my actual period pains were!

Sals27 · 06/08/2020 13:29

@calimommy I'm the same, the 8 week scan is the "ok this is real, its happening, get excited" point for me.

When is everyone telling registering for their midwife? I was thinking about 6w which might be a bit early but I've moved between babies and i'm in a different trust now, but I want to give birth in the same hospital as last time so I don't know where I'll go for scans and stuff - I don't mind at all if scans will be home town or hospital town but I want to give them plenty of time to sort it out - I was unsure on hospital to start with last time and it seemed like it might be awkward if I opted for the out of trust hospital, which is exactly what I'm doing now but in reverse Grin

Ltay2 · 06/08/2020 13:36

@Sals27 I've already done a self referral to the hospital, got a call to say they've received it and now waiting for a call from the midwives in the next couple of weeks. I thought it was best to get in there early!

Sals27 · 06/08/2020 13:51

@ltay2 How far along are you/were you when you referred? Maybe I should do it now. Especially as I've moved drs (I moved towns early March just before lockdown) and I've never been to my newly registered GP! Where I am now, you have to go via the GP, before I had to call the community midwives. Its so different everywhere!

Last time when I called to register they were a bit dismissive that I was calling "already" when I was about 6 weeks so it's put me off a bit

Ltay2 · 06/08/2020 14:51

@Sals27 I'm 4+4 today and I filled in the referral form when I was 4+1 and got a call back the next day. The lady did say it could be a couple of weeks before I get a call back from the midwives as they will prioritise the ladies who are further down the line than me first which is understandable, but she did say it's best to refer as soon as you find out you're pregnant.

Sals27 · 06/08/2020 15:08

@ltay2 Omg of course you are, we were literally saying yesterday about our EDD being 11th April. Doh!

Ah ok, I'm off work tomorrow so I might find out the details for my GP surgery - I honestly can't remember which one I registered at and I've not had any confirmation although the local HV did write to me about my LO so I'm assuming they did register me. Really do need to check though!

Ltay2 · 06/08/2020 16:22

@Sals27 Oh yeah I forgot myself we had the same EDD! Yeah probably best to find out then you can get things moving!

Teapotdespot · 06/08/2020 16:27

My midwife called me today to check how I am and book my first appointment with her when I’m around the 8 week mark. I told my GP about the pregnancy at 5 weeks and they sorted the referral and everything for me Smile

Ltay2 · 06/08/2020 16:31

@Teapotdespot Exciting you've got that booked in now!

calimommy · 07/08/2020 04:19

I'll book my 8week scan soon. I've been putting it off as once the date is booked I tend to think on it a lot. I'm abroad so the system is all private. It shouldnt be difficult to get an appointment. If the scan goes well they do the Harmony test afterwards.

I'm feeling very negative about this pregnancy so far, I keep imagining that there will be an empty sac or that there will be no heart beat again. I hope it's just protecting myself against disappointment rather than a premonition 🙈 Last time felt so unfair as baby was measuring bigger than dates but the heart had stopped. Anyho! Trying not to dwell to much on it either. I'm having a dreadful time sleeping though and we've just returned from 3 nights of camping during which I barely slept at all haha so I'm probably just over tired.

Tiff94 · 07/08/2020 09:58

How's everyone today ?

Nauseous this morning first up but seems to be going by 9 so at least I can be doing things through the day without the sickness

Teapotdespot · 07/08/2020 10:23

Morning @Tiff94! I’m not feeling nauseous at all today which is a bit of a worry, my nipples have changed colour though so that’s something I think? Confused

I’ve been taking tests every day since my bleed and I think the lines are definitely getting darker. I’m having a scan tomorrow morning at 9:30 and I’m really really scared Sad

Tiff94 · 07/08/2020 10:26

@Teapotdespot your last test looks lots darker. I'm sure everything will be okay for you. I have my first scan next Thursday I'm feeling just as anxious too. I'm sure we will be relieved when we see them xx

OP posts:
Teapotdespot · 07/08/2020 10:36

@Tiff94 I hope so. I know I didn’t ovulate until day 24 so I’m about a week behind my gestational age in terms of development, so hoping to see a sac despite technically being 6 weeks 2 days. The main thing is to make sure it’s not ectopic. So far all my cramping and pain has been on one side.

I have a private scan booked on the 19th August which will be 7+6 (or just 7 weeks for me) so hopping to see a heartbeat then?

Tiff94 · 07/08/2020 10:56

@Teapotdespot I should be 6+5 next week when I got I know I ovulated early this month on day 12 so I would say My dates are pretty accurate. Hopefully everything will be good at the both scans for you. Xx

Teapotdespot · 07/08/2020 11:51

It just shows the difference in women’s bodies doesn’t it, 12 days difference in when we ovulated! That’s a huge variation at this stage in pregnancy yet if we had our last period on the same day, we’d be dated the same!

Nichelette · 07/08/2020 14:50

Hi all. I got BFP yesterday so I thought I'd join in. I was 10 days late when I tested so I'm due on the 4th like a couple of others. Am a bit paranoid something will happen as this is my first and it took 13 months, but hopefully things will be okay. I self referred and got an email back saying there have been a lot of referrals so I expect it will be a while before I see anyone. I know it's silly but I've already been thinking I bet school places will be a bit of a nightmare if there are lots of extra lockdown babies lol.

Teapotdespot · 07/08/2020 16:21

@Nichelette apparently there’s actually a decrease in pregnancies during lockdown because people haven’t been able to meet casual partners! Not sure how much I believe that to be honest!

KeepSmiling89 · 07/08/2020 16:24

Can I join this club please! Got my first faint BFP this morning and NHS calculator says my due date is 15th April.
Testing over the weekend before self-referring to midwives on Monday so fingers crossed for stronger lines!

calimommy · 07/08/2020 16:41

@Teapotdespot and being at home all the time means you are sick of the sight of each other 😂

Sals27 · 07/08/2020 18:09

So it turns out I wasn't registered with a GP in my town as they didn't process my registration Hmm I have now registered with another one just have to send copy of ID over the weekend so I'll call Monday to discuss referring to midwife

Teapotdespot · 07/08/2020 18:14

@calimommy first thing my mum said to me when I told her was ‘bloody hell teapot you can’t have been THAT bored with you both at home??’ Grin
