@ShiningStarz Haha yes woke up at 5am! Very unlike me, think it was because my daughter who has been off school the whole time is going back today and tomorrow as it’s the last two days and they are having a leaving party/bbq (thought it was a good idea for her to have an actual last day at school) so I was worried I’d fall back to sleep and end up rushing around, so got up! Although I got back from school and had to have an hour and a half nap because I was so tired 😂😂
Thanks for the recommendations everyone.
Yes I’m the same, cannot believe in a couple of months there will be a baby!! Very exciting!

Lilice · 13/07/2020 15:44

@Emmy2020 I got the same swing as @Lazydaisydaydream joie serina 2 in 1 swing / rocker. It's 150 quid but i bought off someone on Facebook marketplace, and it's like new.
@ShiningStarz did you ask your midwife about the pain below the boob, at top of bump? Im still getting it several times a day, it's so odd

NeuroMama · 13/07/2020 15:52

@ShiningStarz yes, the whole baby being here thing hasn't really sunk in yet. I've always really wanted children but it took a long time to get to the right place in life. So still feels very surreal to be pregnant after longing for 2 decades to be here!

LatteLover12 · 13/07/2020 20:49

Hi ladies, primary school teacher here and I totally understand the worries about summer birthdays but most children have evened out by the end of Y1. My concern about an August birthday would be the influx of new doctors that month.

I'm down to 9 weeks to go now but baby's room is still just a stud wall that needs plastering before I can think about paint/carpet/blinds and my room is the same! I can't wait until it's finished!

I was up at 1am this morning as I was so uncomfortable. All I could do was pace back and forward in the lounge and I started to get a bit worried baby was going to make an appearance but things have settled down as today has gone on.

I've definitely noticed a difference in my energy levels this week. I am exhausted most days and I'm not really doing anything! 😴

ShiningStarz · 13/07/2020 21:18

@Lilice I forgot to ask!!!! I'm back in again next wed so will ask then!! My pain comes and goes and it depends what side I lie on. I doubt it's anything to worry about, prob just everything squished.
My bump has definitely got bigger last few days, feels higher up and more sticky outey!! 😊

ShiningStarz · 13/07/2020 21:24

Anyone booking themselves in for a pamper day!! The skin on my heels is so hard from wearing flip tops with the good weather last few months! They actually hurt now and are so cracked. Think I'll book a pedicure. The place I go to also does pregnancy massage and facial treatments. Think I'll go at 37 weeks :)

CNovittBolden · 13/07/2020 21:31

Hi lovely ladies, can't believe how much I've missed already! The chat goes so quick!!

I bought myself an exercise ball and it's really helping my hips and back. I just sit on it and rotate my hips, but it's definitely easing the pains I definitely recommend!

MooseWL · 13/07/2020 22:00

@shiningstarz totally with you on not being able to really believe there'll be a baby at the end of this. So bizarre. I'll be 32 when baby arrives but still don't really feel adult enough to have a baby 😂
@CNovittBolden ooh i really need to get one ordered, i can't get comfy on the sofa anymore!

So my mum asked the other day if I wanted her to come and stay for a week once the baby is here and my partner goes back to work. (I hate the word partner but i feel like now we're having a baby together boyfriend doesn't seem serious enough 😂😂)
Is this a thing? I was like sure if you want to and she was like well you'll need the rest. I can't help thinking that it will be more stressful having someone to stay. We get on each others nerves quite quickly, and I feel like I might just want to figure things out on my own!

ShiningStarz · 13/07/2020 22:53

I have the really long pregnancy pillow. I turn it into a donut and use it as a cushion on the sofa!! It's great!! Actually hurts me in bed!! Maybe will need it when I'm really struggling as get closer to due date!! @MooseWL

Lilice · 13/07/2020 23:02

@MooseWL my parents wanted to book a one way ticket for when the baby comes 🙄😬 they want to help but i definitely want to spend the first two weeks on our own. However I do want them to come over for a week or two when my husband goes back to work. It will be nice to have them help with the cleaning, cooking and shopping etc

Lilice · 13/07/2020 23:04

@ShiningStarz getting a pedicure is definitely on my to do list 😁

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 14/07/2020 07:08

@MooseWL can’t speak for your relationship with your mum but in general I’d say jump at the offer of her to come stay and help when your other half goes back to work! Just say yes to all the help offered!!!! My parents are not around unfortunately but when my husband went back to work I went to stay with his parents with baby which was a great help (and they weren’t even my parents!)

ShiningStarz · 14/07/2020 07:11

Hi all, my cousin (primary school teacher) was saying a child born on 1st sept would start school aged 4 which she feels is too young. It would be better for child to have Aug birthday and then they start following year aged 5. Can someone explain why it's better starting age 4?? Seems like they won't get a lot of time at pre school? Thanks

ShiningStarz · 14/07/2020 07:15

@MooseWL is it your mums first grandchild? My mum is super excited!! Thankfully they only live few miles away. I know it'll be automatic for her to teach me and I'll want to learn for myself but once we straighten that out ill welcome some help!! Her last baby was me and almost 40 years ago lol
I'd say it's only a week, take the help, even if it's cooking / cleaning / having company during day while hubby is at work xx

emma278 · 14/07/2020 07:16

Hi @ShiningStarz its the other way round, my bday is Sept 1st so I was 5 when i started and was always the oldest in my
Year, some say it gives you an advantage but always evens lit eventually i think. X

ShiningStarz · 14/07/2020 07:21

Ok @emma278 so it's better to be born on or after 1st sept to be 5 when starting school! So better to be 5 then 4!! Flip I must have taken what she said completely wrong!! Thanks xx

MooseWL · 14/07/2020 10:46

Maybe I'll tell her she can come for a few days and see how it goes 😂 yeah @shiningstarz it's the first grandchild for both our parents so everyone is very excited. My family are only an hour away and my partners live nearby so I'm sure we'll be seeing lots of them.

Laura1348 · 14/07/2020 11:03

I'm so sad. Had my 32 weeks scan yesterday- alone- and today my hospital are allowing husbands in! Gutted.

Sara7455 · 14/07/2020 11:23

@MooseWL I think it totally depends on you and your relationship with your mum. Mine would drive me crazy - even having her constantly on the phone has driven me nuts since Wren was born. Have had to tell her to back off a few times where she gets wound up and starts flapping about things unnecessarily- tires me out trying to calm her down and look after the baby at the same time. She means well and is only trying to help but sometimes it’s too much. I do have a fantastic team of nurses helping while he’s in hospital though so it’s not like I’m totally alone like when he comes home and My husband has to go back to work. Maybe then I’d be more appreciative of the help so I can have a nap!

MooseWL · 14/07/2020 12:52

@laura1348 oh no that's a shame, have you got anymore coming up that he can attend?

@sara7455 I think I'm the same as you. Since my mum found out I was pregnant she's never rang so much. She's already nagging me about getting the house sorted and basically dismissed that I was going to use reusable nappies saying oh you won't want to do that 🙄 I do appreciate the offer of help, I just kinda think I want to get used to having a baby with me and my partner, and figuring it out myself.

ShiningStarz · 14/07/2020 12:56

Aww I think it's kinda cute the mums are all excited. I think the key is small doses!!!
Covid is a great excuse though if you don't want anyone else in your home staying. I think I'll be taking extra care first few months with no visitors except immediate fam.

Laura1348 · 14/07/2020 13:00

@MooseWL yes 36 weeks if he Downey appear before then!
It's just a shame to miss it by one day.

Laura1348 · 14/07/2020 13:01

Doesn't appear! Bloody auto correct.
😡😡

ShiningStarz · 14/07/2020 14:09

The potential second wave is terrifying! I hope if it comes that we are all home and safe with our babies by then 🤞🤞

Sara7455 · 14/07/2020 14:32

@ShiningStarz I’m with you, hopefully all our babies will be safely home before the second waves hit and we can just hole up in our new family bubbles!

@MooseWL exactly! I 100% want her involved as grandma and it’s nice she’s excited but also want space to figure out my own brand of motherhood I guess
