@LatteLover12 these a tree brilliant! Love the colour, the lids, the fabric and the little window so you can even put a note with size clothing etc

ShiningStarz · 03/08/2020 14:33

@LatteLover12 I want to clean but there is zero point as we are getting the new bathroom and skirting and doors and all done !!! Starting next week for at least 3 weeks!!! So I'll be frantically cleaning and getting things ready when I'm 38/39 weeks lol 🙈 bad timing or what!!

ShiningStarz · 03/08/2020 14:37

@liquoricecravings I have a weekend hold all for my stuff and then a gym bag for babies.
I did what someone recommended (can't remember who), I put baby first outfit and other outfits together in separate sandwich bags. I'v packed some Nb and some up to 1 month, think altogether I have 8 vests, 8 sleepsuits, 2 hats, 2 cardis, 1 blanket, mittens, 3 Muslins and 1 swaddle wrap. Also nappies, bepanthen and wipes in that bag. Hopefully that's all the baby stuff I'll need!!

ShiningStarz · 03/08/2020 14:38

@OrDis I am doing the positive birth company course and it says you are within your right to decline all cervix checks.
I have never had them before and it's probably likely you'll want to know when you are fully dilated to start pushing but at the end of the day it's your body and if they do something to make you feel uncomfortable it could delay delivery and just start releasing stress hormones xx

Lilice · 03/08/2020 15:16

@liquoricecravings I've got a large weekender bag for my stuff, and i"ll pack the baby's stuff in the changing back.

@OrDis i don't think that you have to be checked if you don't want to. I was checked when I arrived at the hospital and once again later, I dont remember being it painful nor uncomfortable. I hate smear tests too and it wasnt like that. I'm worrying more about crowning 🙈

LatteLover12 · 03/08/2020 15:26

Ooh thank you so much @ShiningStarz These will be brilliant for the ridiculous essential amount of things I've bought!

@OrDis I was examined when I was in labour with my DS1. The only time I found it painful was the very first examination (when I first arrived at hospital). It's just done by hand but as you crack on with the gas and air it becomes uncomfortable rather than painful. I found them useful to know what progress I was making.

ShiningStarz · 03/08/2020 15:33

Haha @LatteLover12 they are a fab size too. I'm so happy with them. Seems expensive but each one was about £6.50 so not much more than the ones in bargain shops without the lids!

MrsA2015 · 03/08/2020 15:35

Hello all, I’m due on the 9th! Anyone else?

OrDis · 03/08/2020 15:35

Thanks guys, I do think i’ll want one at least to check how far along I am. I guess I just want to be prepared and know exactly what the ‘procedure’ is so it doesn't take me by surprise... the internet is rather vague on the details. When the time comes i’ll probably be too distracted to care lol

Lilice · 03/08/2020 15:45

@ShiningStarz those boxes look perfect. I bought wicker baskets to put in the built in wardrobe, they look really nice but they're too small and can hardly contain anything. It's in fact a waste of space. I couldn't admit it to my husband when he saw them lol (too annoyed at my mistake), I think I'm going to buy the same ones as you and swap them in secret haha!

ShiningStarz · 03/08/2020 15:48

Snap@MrsA2015 💜

ShiningStarz · 03/08/2020 15:49

@OrDis I was just thinking I'll be like you, just fecking check me and tell me when this baby is coming out so I'm in no more pain!! Yup I'd say it'll be the last of your worries 🙈

ShiningStarz · 03/08/2020 15:50

Lol @Lilice I have a dust mite allergy so I always knew I wanted something with lids. I love them and they look great too!
Haha use the wicker baskets for your nappies and nappy changing stuff :)
Win win xx

LatteLover12 · 03/08/2020 15:52

@OrDis I totally recommend the gas!

I'm worrying about the other end now - apparently I have to get swabbed for Covid 48 hours before my section. I had anything in my mouth, particularly if I feel like I might gag/choke. My dentist hates me 😂 I'm hoping they'll let me swab myself!

Bubble29 · 03/08/2020 16:14

Update! The twins have arrived at 32+6 days! My waters broke at 16:00 whilst out for a stroll in the park on Saturday, by the time I arrived at the hospital at 17:00 I was 5cm, twin 1 (💓) was born at 19:59 weighing 3lb 13oz followed by her brother (💙) at 20:05 weighing 3lb 9oz!

Both are in NICU and have already progressed out of an incubator. Neither are on O2 or require any assistance minus glucose while my milk comes in!

It's so surreal!!!! So I have August babies after all 😊

Laura1348 · 03/08/2020 16:53

@Bubble29
Congratulations -all the best to the whole family!

LatteLover12 · 03/08/2020 16:57

Oh wow @Bubble29 that's amazing news! High drama with your waters going in the park!

Pleased to hear they're doing well in NICU, keep us posted please!

@liquoricecravings I'm going to hunt down that cleaner now! I bought a Cath Kidston hold-all in the sale for my hospital bag. I had been looking at a v pricey storksak but couldn't face paying £150 for it! I'll take my hold-all for me (mostly full of food) and the change bag with baby's things in.

OrDis · 03/08/2020 17:46

Congratulations @Bubble29! So glad to hear you are all doing well!

Lilice · 03/08/2020 17:55

Congratulations @Bubble29 that's brilliant news!

MooseWL · 03/08/2020 18:03

@bubble29 congratulations! That's lovely news a boy and a girl. Super fast labour too! Glad they're doing well 😊

Smilymami · 03/08/2020 18:10

@Bubble29 congrats dear.. happy to hear both you and the babies are doing so well. We welcome our first August babies...

Emmy2020 · 03/08/2020 18:13

@Bubble29 Congratulations! 😊

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 03/08/2020 18:18

Huge congratulations !!!! Wonderful news!!!!!!

liquoricecravings · 03/08/2020 18:19

@MrsA2015 I'm due on the 9th too

@Bubble29 Congratulations! What a dramatic moment it must have been in the park. It's good to hear your babies are doing well.

@LatteLover12 They sell it in some of the supermarkets but due to the virus it was out of stock as everyone wanted to clean their washing machine! I found it on Amazon last week for the regular price. They'd cheekily inflated the prices at the height of the lockdown. It smells so fresh and I'm now going to wash my baby clothes this week Smile

Thank you all for letting me know what bags you're using for the hospital Smile
