@Sara7455 ah how exciting! I'm so happy for you that you're in the home straight and yes to Wren gaining weight. I have no experience on small babies and sleep. Is there anything on the Lullaby trust website? Or perhaps you could start a thread as lots of good advice on here.

@LatteLover12 those pants sound really good Although quite spenny and also white?! 😱 but I'm tempted a bit to get some.

@Laura1348 that sounds really interesting and makes my point about the onset of strong contractions starting quicker void! So that would be brilliant. I just had pessary with mine, but this sounds heaps better.

@Smilymami I'm afraid I don't have any experience. Did the dr seem concerned? I would maybe speak to your midwife and get some reassurance, I think they often look at sections for bigger babies though.

I'm feeling rubbish today. Tire, loads of pressure in my vagina, sick and tonnes of braxton hicks. Wonder if it's the heat? Anyone else feeling crap?

@ChipsAreLife i’m also a bit knackered today. Have the day off and we went to see the in-laws and then were going to head to the beach for a nice cafe lunch but we got half way there and I told DH to turn around and come home cause I suddenly felt zonked! Shame as it’s a beautiful day but really don’t want to push myself.

@CNovittBolden I had some bad nosebleeds when I was around 20weeks ish. Haven't had one for a little while now though... wonder if they’ll make a reappearance.

Lazydaisydaydream · 30/07/2020 16:26

@LatteLover12 I had those cantaloop pants from John Lewis last time - as soon as she heard I'd had an emergency c section my sister ordered me some next day delivery! They were amazing, the panel against the incision was very soothing. Other than them I just wore my husband's boxers Grin

Lorna198 · 30/07/2020 16:58

@ChipsAreLife I’ve got some huuuge ones lol.
@sianyflewog I’ve kept them hidden from hubby. I can imagine his response will be similar to your hubbys 😂

@Lilice no lol. A name is the only thing we haven’t got yet. Hubby just nods at every suggestion which is super helpful 😂 @MooseWL thanks!

I went to local Wetherspoons yesterday for an hour was impressed. Was fairly quiet. All precautions in place and it felt safe. I think however once the offers are on places will inevitably be busy so think we might swerve it unless it looks quiet!

CNovittBolden · 30/07/2020 17:11

@Sara7455 So happy he is gaining weight and will be coming home soon.

We were told that for smaller babies either use a blanket that's tucked into the side so he can't move down or use a swaddle bag/blanket.

We've bought a few swaddle blankets to try - you pop them in and then enclose the bubs. Supposed to reminded them of the womb.

Laura1348 · 30/07/2020 17:21

@ChipsAreLife
I'm hoping it's not too bad😬
I'm feeling really rubbish. Tired, lonely and bored.
If one more person tells me to make the most of this quiet time I'm gonna go mad!
Been in my house since March and following lockdown really strictly!
Actually went to my local coop today to get a costa and that was a 'brave move for me'.
I'm not seeing anyone or doing anything. It's rather poo!
Can't do any nesting at home as it's a right state- decorating and now being held up. So I'm worrying it's going to be like this when he's born- I can't even get the cot in my room (three chests of drawers in way).

Sorry for the feel sorry for me BS- it's not intended. It's just nice to actually 'say' it out loud.
Thanks for listening.

MooseWL · 30/07/2020 17:48

@sara7455 wow that's great how many weeks is he now? It's gone so fast! What does he sleep under in the hospital or is he in an incubator? Love the idea of him getting cross at bring under a blanket going to be a handful? 😂
@smilimama maybe talk to your midwife about it but also remember the plates aren't fused and babies heads can compress to come out the birth canal!

I also just went 2 sizes up in pants and my partner finds it hilarious when hanging up the washing. I tell him I don't know why he's laughing as it's totally his fault my arse is that big!

I actually managed a post work walk this afternoon - so sweaty! Is anyone else dreading the fact it's going to be 32 degrees tomorrow?! I've been making ice cubes in preparation haha. But maybe a good day to start the baby clothes washing. Is 32 weeks too early?!

@laura1348 complain away. It is rubbish being stuck inside all the time. Are you getting out for walks? I find that even a 20 minute walk round the block (when I'm not too tired!) does wonders for my mood. Today I was thrilled cos I saw 7 cats and a lady walking a pony - village life 🤣

Laura1348 · 30/07/2020 17:51

@MooseWL 😂
Thanks- that made me smile. Yes thankfully I'm doing walks but only about 30mins. It does make me feel better but can only manage one a day 😔 when really it would be nice to do a few.
Thanks very much.
Xx

Sunsage · 30/07/2020 18:03

32 degrees!!!! It's to be 20 here in rainy NI 😂 I have had any sleepsuits and vests washed for weeks now, during the last spell of good weather we had while I was on furlough. So definitely not too early at all!

I agree with the walks helping my mood but it's got the stage where 10mins and I feel like I'm going to pee myself... Fun fun.

Hope everybody is keeping well xxx

LatteLover12 · 30/07/2020 18:18

Haha, that's amazing @Lazydaisydaydream DPs boxers might be an option this time round - my exh has legs like a sparrow so defo not an option back then 😂😂

Think I'll compromise and see how I'm getting on with the M&S giganto pants and if they're uncomfortable then I can get the cantaloop ones ordered. I defo agree that they're spendy @ChipsAreLife 😳

Sara7455 · 30/07/2020 19:10

@CNovittBolden thanks, tucked in blankets may be the way to go. Have had a look at the lullaby trust like @ChipsAreLife suggested and it seems to be my only option if I’m not convinced I’ll get away with swaddling. That way he can still sneak his hands out if that’s what he’s decided he’s doing.

@MooseWL he’s 6 weeks now! He sleeps in a regular cot on the ward but because he’s hooked up to monitors they don’t have to follow the safe sleep guidance and he’s mostly been sleeping in a nest on his tummy Or side or with a positional pillow When he’s on his back. He has a pile of blankets and sometimes even a hat and cardigan! Basically the opposite to what we’ll need to do at home so not a helpful learning tool for FTMs but necessary for preemies for various reasons while they’re still small.

Chanel05 · 30/07/2020 19:27

@MooseWL not too early! I'm 33 weeks and I've done all my baby washingSmile

Lilice · 30/07/2020 20:08

@MooseWL I'm 32 weeks tomorrow and nearly finished washing all the baby's clothes. In fact I consider 37 weeks as my due date 😬
@Sara7455 so happy to read Wren Is making good progress and that you'll all be home soon, how exciting!
@ChipsAreLife I'm also feeling rubbish, sleeping terribly. I don't seem to be able to fall asleep before 1 or 2 am at moment. Last night, I think it was nearly 4 am. I'll be fully prepared for short nights in September. I'm thinking of stopping work sooner than planned, I've had enough

UrsulaSings · 30/07/2020 20:26

Hi everyone. I posted on a previous thread ages and ages ago but struggled to keep up with all the different people.

Am 34 weeks now and really feeling the need to connect to people who are experiencing similar things at the moment!

Our baby boy is due 7th Sept. Am really struggling now with swollen feet, bad back, leg pains at night, exhausted even from walking round the house, and a huge belly that is just in the way all the time and making me feel squished!

Cant believe theres only August to go and then we will be in September!! How scary and exciting at the same time!!

Hope it's ok for me to join you - I know you've probably all been chatting to each other for a while now.

LatteLover12 · 30/07/2020 20:32

Welcome along @UrsulaSings!

Sorry to hear you're feeling so rubbish, you're right though, not long to go now!

I'm 32w now and my bump is sooooo tight and I feel out of breath most of the time.

UrsulaSings · 30/07/2020 20:41

Thank you @LatteLover12

Yes I get the tight bump! Feels rock hard sometimes!

Does anyone's baby still get hiccups? I read that after 32 weeks this might be concerning and now I've really worried myself!

OrDis · 30/07/2020 20:48

Welcome back @UrsulaSings! Sorry your feeling rough. I’m pretty knackered now too. I think we are all starting to feel that way but not too long to go! I’ve started getting some stretchmarks today.... annoying as I thought I had dodged that bullet lol!

OrDis · 30/07/2020 20:51

@UrsulaSings mine hiccups about twice a day for ageeeeess... it’s quite strong! I’ll ask the midwife tomorrow but I don’t think it’s usually anything to worry about (despite what google says)

LatteLover12 · 30/07/2020 21:05

Mine has had the hiccups a few times too. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about and it's usually after I've eaten!

I never noticed it when I was expecting my other two.

UrsulaSings · 30/07/2020 21:08

@OrDis and @LatteLover12 thanks that's reassuring. I do worry myself sometimes!

@OrDis I've also noticed stretch Mark's in the last couple of days and thought I'd dodged that too!

sianyflewog · 30/07/2020 21:19

@Sara7455 Such good news about Wren, it will be lovely for you to have him home! In regards to sleeping, I would behave as you would if you’d bought him home from hospital born at full gestation and just pop blankets over him (but don’t swaddle him in them) until he’s big enough for the sleeping bag?

I have just had a surprise, socially distanced baby shower with my group of friends ❤️

MooseWL · 30/07/2020 21:20

@OrDis @ursulasings oh man I thought cos I'd got to 32 weeks with no stretch marks I wouldn't get any. To be fair my bump isn't that tight yet and I'd guess that's when they'd appear. Oh well, they fade.

@lilice I keep realising that 37 weeks is technically full term then realising that's only 5 weeks away 😬😬 (i know its less for a lot of you!) can't believe how far we've come

MooseWL · 30/07/2020 21:24

@lilice just realised we've got the same due date as I'm 32 weeks tomorrow as well. Think I'll make the most of the heat then and do some wash loads. I want to get some boxes from ikea to separate clothes into sizes etc in the drawers before I put them away though, otherwise they'll end up like my drawers just a big mess!

Lilice · 30/07/2020 21:42

My bump is soooo tight as well, permanently. It's like it's trying to extend but my body wont let it. It is also very high, starts right underneath the boobs. It's very uncomfortable, like ive swallowed a rugby ball.
@UrsulaSings ive only just recently started feeling baby hipccupping (im 32 weeks).

Sara7455 · 30/07/2020 21:46

@sianyflewog that makes sense as a plan. Think it’s what I’ll go with, hopefully he’ll keep growing well and be in the sleeping bag before I know it! Surprise baby shower sounds really lovely! Such a great thing for your friends to do 😊
