@MooseWL @ShiningStarz We've just had our bathroom done and I'm so glad!! Made such a difference. I just went to live with my parents for a few days!

Welcome and congrats to the newcomers :)

@Laura1348 there's a form on hmrc you can do online or print and send off, I cant remember the website but I'm sure it's easy found!

My belly button still hasn't popped!! Sometimes it feels like it's going to and other times it's so soft, so I know what you mean about bump feeling smaller

Laura1348 · 21/07/2020 21:13

@Sunsage thanks- will see if I can find the form.

Yeah belly feels odd- not sure if I should be worried?? He's still moving!

MooseWL · 21/07/2020 21:33

@shiningstarz @willowT it's our only bathroom but I have family can go stay work at their houses in the day and they've said plumb the toilet in at night if needed! We've lived here 3 years and always known its needed doing but just put it off and off until the last minute!

My bump has definitely not got smaller! I saw some work friends for a picnic today first time in I've seen them since March and they were like woaaah your bump is huge. Honestly 5 weeks ago I barely looked pregnant. One even went in to touch it (why is that a thing so inappropriate!!) @laura1348 your baby has probably just shifted positions don't think it's anything to worry about! Mine is so long as well its like it starts directly under my boobs!

ShiningStarz · 21/07/2020 21:55

@WillowT I can't wait for a bath once little one is here!! I haven't had one since I found out I was pregnant!! I like them hot and was worried about it doing harm. Eeeek randox and candles bliss!!!

liquoricecravings · 21/07/2020 22:09

A long hot bath would be lovely. The baby moved towards my ribs in the bath I had recently so it wasn't as relaxing as I'd hoped it would be!

ShiningStarz · 21/07/2020 23:11

My partner isn't keen on spending a load of money on the joie sansa rocker / baby bjorn They are very expensive. Both around £150 new. He doesn't think baby will know or care whether it's a £50 rocker versus an expensive one. Any thoughts from previous mums on here?? X

Laura1348 · 22/07/2020 07:39

@MooseWL thanks. Just found it really odd. To be honest his movements didn't hurt as much last night so yeah probs moved!
@ShiningStarz so glad I'm not alone. Thought I'd be the only person in the world not to have a bath since finding out. I really miss it and think it would help with my sore legs but dare not! 🙈🙈

Roxy8203 · 22/07/2020 08:18

I've been having cool baths. It's been lush in the hot weather 🥶

NeuroMama · 22/07/2020 09:22

I had been avoiding baths, but a few weeks ago I was so uncomfortable in every possible position a human body can be in I gave one a go. A little sad to have a warm rather than hot bath and no bath salts, but turns out floating is so much more comfortable than existing on land during 3rd trimester haha

Has anyone got recommendations for thermometers to take baby's temperature if sick? I remember the old strips you put on the forehead from my childhood but it seems technology has progressed since then!

ShiningStarz · 22/07/2020 09:26

Hehe maybe a bath will get this baby head down!! At the hospital now waiting on my scan 🤞🤞

ChipsAreLife · 22/07/2020 09:33

Defo have a bath. Pregnancy is the only time I do, it's been stopping my braxton hicks. Just keep it cooler. We actually have something built into the bath which means the water can't go higher than 37 on our hot tap. It's a safety feature for kids and a great idea I think.

Glad I'm not alone with the heartburn! @NeuroMama @MooseWL @Iheardit @Piper1879 ! Agree Neuro i read to avoid greasy, fatty, spicy food which I have anyone. I had spaghetti and sauce the other night at 5pm, my heartburn was off the scale by 8! Thank goodness for Gaviscon!!

@NeuroMama I've got a Braun inear one. I'm a bit mental constantly checking temperatures with my kids as I have a sepsis/meningitis fear! It's really good.

@shiningstarz I think they're crazy expensive too! I only splashed out as have barely had to buy anything for this baby. In your shoes I'd get a second hand or a cheaper one. We had a bright stars swing chair with my first that she loved. That was about £60 from John Lewis

@neuromama I've got a calpol in ear one. I think I bought it in boots. It's good because it beeps if it detects a fever and the display is lit up so you can see the reading at night without switching all the lights on!

ShiningStarz · 22/07/2020 10:21

@NeuroMama I bought the Braun thermoscan 7 ear thermometer. It was £49.99 in Argos but I figured it would something I'd need for years to come.

ShiningStarz · 22/07/2020 10:24

Baby weighs 4lbs and in the 50th percentile. 33 weeks today.
Just waiting to see if I'll be started on insulin to help control the Gestational Diabetes.

LatteLover12 · 22/07/2020 10:32

Ooh, that's a good weight @ShiningStarz are the docs happy?

Does anyone know where I can get some decent leggings from? I'm thinking some over the bump ones for the last few weeks and some for after my section? Everywhere I look they're out of stock. Probably need a size 12 and size 10/12/14 all seem to be out of stock 😭

OrDis · 22/07/2020 10:56

Morning all. I’m feeling rotten today. Had such a bad bout of heartburn/acid reflux last night that I had to get up and sit downstairs for an hour in the middle of the night. Feel like I could constantly burp and my throat is sore from all the acid 😫. Also i’ve been put on iron tablets which give me such a dodgy stomach. I’m quite loathe to take them to be honest because the midwife said that pre-covid she wouldnt be giving them to me as i’m not anaemic but since covid they have changed the threshold as blood stocks are running low so they want to try to avoid bad bleeds in labor. I keep worrying now that i’ll be having too much iron!!! I hate the side effects, I go from backed up to raging stomach ache so fast. Yuk.

Feeling miserable today. Currently sat on sofa with work laptop as like others, my makeshift desk at the dining room table is getting horribly uncomfortable 😩

ShiningStarz · 22/07/2020 10:59

@LatteLover12 yep doc was happy, in the 50th percentile so perfect. Starting the nighttime insulin now tho but I knew it was only a matter of time. There's only so much I can control with diet alone.

I got lovely leggings from H&M. They have few different types, mine are a elastane gym type

Lilice · 22/07/2020 11:08

I cant remember who was looking for a nighty that buttons at the front. Ive just bought a couple from bohoo, reduced to 7 quid! www.boohoo.com/maternity-polka-dot-button-front-nightie/BZZ46160-105-20.html

Lilice · 22/07/2020 11:10

@LatteLover12 i got my leggings from h&m, got a pack of it which are okay and an individual one which is much better. I also bought a couple from boohoo, the quality isn't as good but good enough to stay at home. I got a size 12 but could have gone for a 10 as they're quite spacious

Lilice · 22/07/2020 11:11

@LatteLover12 I usually go for a size 12 at the moment with the other brands
