@Lilice Thank you that was me.

Emmy2020 · 22/07/2020 13:55

@ShiningStarz Hope your scan went well today?
Had mine, thought that was the last one but apparently I’ll have one every 3 weeks.
Got them to check, it’s definitely a girl! Just wanted to make sure 😂

ShiningStarz · 22/07/2020 14:00

Hey @Emmy2020 yes all was perfect. Moved into head down from being frank breech for ages!! Weight up to 4lbs!!
What about you? X

Emmy2020 · 22/07/2020 14:23

@ShiningStarz That’s good! Mines still breech! About 3lbs at the moment x

ShiningStarz · 22/07/2020 14:26

Whoop @Emmy2020 still lots of time to turn, great they are seeing you again to check. Get bouncing on the gym ball :)

Emmy2020 · 22/07/2020 14:43

@ShiningStarz Yep my mums got one so going to go on it!

ShiningStarz · 22/07/2020 14:44

I'm bouncing on mine right now 🤣 @Emmy2020

Emmy2020 · 22/07/2020 15:10

😂😂👍

My husband works at a cricket Club so I’ve been napping under a tree while he works! 😂

pangolin84 · 22/07/2020 15:43

@OrDis I’m really surprised they’ve put you on iron if your haemoglobin isn’t under the threshold! Did they tell you what your haemoglobin actually was? I was worried about being anaemic because I don’t eat red meat so I looked up the BSH guidelines and they do expect a drop in haemoglobin in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters but only recommend iron supplements if it’s less than 105. I did don’t think blood stocks were so low that they would start people on unnecessary treatments “just in case”. I’m a little bit shocked!

ShiningStarz · 22/07/2020 16:14

Anyone else started washing baby clothes / sheets / blankets?!
I think I'll start tonight!! Would like everything washed and dried by next week (34 weeks) so I can start thinking about what to pack!! OMG 😮

ChipsAreLife · 22/07/2020 16:34

@OrDis that sounds awful, you must feel rotten today. Have you got gaviscon? If that's not working I think pharmacy can give you something else. I've not idea on the iron front but maybe call your MAU and see what they say? It's so hard somedays being pregnant as you just want to stay in bed. Try have an easy and early night x

@shiningstarz I've yet to sort out all my baby stuff! I was 33 weeks yesterday. I'll prob start doing it at 35 ish weeks and have bag packed for 37/38. Both my other babies were dragged out so I'm not in a rush lol!

ShiningStarz · 22/07/2020 16:46

Haha @ChipsAreLife
I think with the GD I'm almost treating week 38 as 40!!
It's very exciting and suppose cause I haven't packed a hospital bag before it may take me a lot longer than you 🤣🤣🤣

ShiningStarz · 22/07/2020 16:47

Ordered a few things off amazon and just waiting for them to arrive 💜

@pangolin84- yes they were 115, so not even close to low really!! Apparently the threshold in my healthboard has been changed to 120. So i’m supposed to take 1 a day as a preventative measure. They’ll take my blood again at 32 weeks so i’m thinking of just giving up with it after that as long as the level hasn't dropped. It seems ludicrous to me, but I can’t find anything which says what a safe upper hemoglobin limit is.

pangolin84 · 22/07/2020 18:03

@OrDis That is interesting. It’s definitely worth mentioning your gastro side effects and getting a second opinion about whether it’s truly necessary. I’m no expert but I don’t see how boosting your blood count by a little bit when it’s already in the acceptable range could have that much effect on whether you need a transfusion. I’d have thought most people who have a big bleed would need a transfusion, whatever their blood count was to begin with.

Emmy2020 · 22/07/2020 18:12

@OrDis Hope you feel better soon x

Emmy2020 · 22/07/2020 18:24

Is anyone having a baby shower? My mum was going to give me one until we realised you are only meant to have one for your first baby! Although I’ve never had one as they didn’t exist when I had my previous children. I’d love to have a little get together with friends and family as I’ve not seen anyone for so long, not sure what I’d call it though if it’s not a baby shower?

Emmy2020 · 22/07/2020 18:26

Never had heartburn before in pregnancy but got it really bad now. Rang the midwife and apparently eating celery helps, has anyone else tried this?
Thought I’d be able to get some medication but she said I’d have to speak to my doctor as not all things are safe.

OrDis · 22/07/2020 18:31

@Emmy2020 not heard of eating celery but willing to give anything a go 🤣

Sunsage · 22/07/2020 18:46

I've been hammering the peppermint tea and peptac recently, I don't really want to start on tablets (definitely not a judgement on anybody who does take them for heartburn, I'm just abit funny with taking tablets!!) and it does seem to be helping a bit it's not as intense now.

My SIL is doing me a baby shower in a few weeks, I'm really excited about it, especially with lock down etc will be nice to get my close friends together and eat cake 😂

Emmy2020 · 22/07/2020 18:54

@OrDis I just had a big bowl of celery 😂 Hopefully it’ll help!
@Sunsage I’ll get more peppermint tea to see if it helps. Aw that will be lovely and yes any excuse to eat cake 🍰

Emmy2020 · 22/07/2020 19:01

I just read that instead of a baby ‘shower’ you can a baby ‘sprinkle’ So it’s more casual than a shower and it can be sprinkle themed.

Sunsage · 22/07/2020 19:11

@OrDis @Emmy2020 I hope it clears up for you both soon! My DH has been reading a book for expectant fathers and declared the other night that my heartburn should stop around 36 weeks when the bump drops 😂 bless him.

Baby sprinkle sounds so cute!!! 💕

Emmy2020 · 22/07/2020 19:15

@Sunsage Aw bless him, ah that’s good if that’s true 👍

LatteLover12 · 22/07/2020 19:37

I'm on 3 tablets a day @OrDis 😳

I've had a pain across the top of my bump for a couple of days now. I'm fairly sure it's muscular/stretching pains but it feels like a bruise and the community mw has said to call the hospital if it's not gone by tomorrow.

Has anyone had anything similar?
