@baggies another website ive used who have been really good are natural baby shower xx

baggies · 20/07/2020 12:37

Thanks everyone. I'll pass the names you suggested on to her. John Lewis have long delivery times as she's checked. Just annoying that they've had her £1000+ for 2 months and haven't had the courtesy even to say they're not coming today. Obviously the delays are due to COVID 19, but think m&p should have been more transparent at the time the order was placed. Delays for the Pram system from Baby Barn and partial Order from Online 4 baby cancelled she's feeling stressed. Actually you're right the nursery won't be used for a while, it's just as ftm plus under peri natal team for anxiety it's getting to her. Thanks again for your kind and useful comments.

OrDis · 20/07/2020 13:02

Ah yea I totally get it @baggies- it’s so frustrating when things are delayed and you wouldn't mind so much if they just let you know beforehand so you had realistic expectations!! I’ve also brought things from natural baby shower and can second that they have been good. I hope she manages to get something she likes soon 😊

Lilice · 20/07/2020 13:08

@Baggies I hope she's OK, I understand the disappointment! M&P should have been more transparent, you're right.
I ordered the nursery furniture in April from online4baby and still waiting for it. It should be dispatched this week, I hope there won't be any more delays.

baggies · 20/07/2020 13:19

@OrDis thank you. Actually she's already found a furniture bundle on Babyabdchildren store, phoned them, got through(!) and confirmed they're in stock. Think she's going to cancel M&p order and order from b&c store. It's way cheaper too!
Thanks again to you and everyone who commented. Thanks

OrDis · 20/07/2020 14:15

@baggies oh fantastic!! I’m glad she’s found something. Delivery was nice and speedy for me so hopefully she’ll find the same 😊

Lazydaisydaydream · 20/07/2020 15:54

we have a poang chair in the nursery, I tended to feed lying in bed during the night, but it has been very handy for sitting and rocking, and now my son is older we sit in it and read our bedtime stories. My friend has one of the proper glider nursing chairs and matching footstool which I am very jealous of, but it just wouldn't fit in our nursery as it's just the box room. The poang chair will at least just come back down into the living room once we don't need it in the nursery anymore Smile

MooseWL · 20/07/2020 20:24

I have a poang too but not sure it will fit in our nursery once the furniture arrives! I plus imagine will feed in bed a lot at first!

My pregnancy ball arrived and I love it! I also booked a spa break at my fave spa for me and my partner in August which I'm a little nervous about but looks like there's loads of safety measures in place, plus the sauna/steam rooms still aren't allowed to open so I won't feel like I'm missing out by not being allowed in them! I just felt like I needed to do something nice before the baby arrives especially after spending most of my pregnancy in the house!

ShiningStarz · 20/07/2020 23:17

@MooseWL that's a lovely idea. We aren't going away but I said we should go out for dinner to a couple of our fav restaurants towards mid aug. Maybe a drive for a seafront walk and a Sunday roast :)
Simple things iv really missed. Where are you going?

ShiningStarz · 20/07/2020 23:41

Nappy bin / no nappy bin?!

My changing station will be upstairs in nursery so weighing up buying angel care / tommee tipee sangenic.... or just an ordinary bin and emptying everyday?! Mmmm thinking it'll be autumn/winter for the higher volume nappy changes so popping out daily with nappies doesn't sound too pleasant ?🤔

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 21/07/2020 06:46

Mmm you will need some kind of bin receptacle with a liner so you have somewhere to put them as they pile up. Don’t need to get anything special though ...

MooseWL · 21/07/2020 08:16

@shiningstarz too that sounds nice too. We both have a week off work mid August and toyed with the idea of a break by the coast but everywhere is so expensive mid summer especially as ever one is taking UK breaks this year so we'll do the overnight spa instead plus a trip to the Yorkshire sculpture park which is near the spa and i love it there and then some day trips/walks eating out etc. I've really missed all that stuff too!

LatteLover12 · 21/07/2020 08:54

@ShiningStarz a couple of my friends had the nappy bins with the cassettes in and they were binned quite quickly because they stank.

I've always just put nappies straight in to the outside bin but a normal bin you empty every day (that's easy to clean!) is probably a good option.

I've started frantically booking things in with friends over the next few weeks. This week is fancy afternoon tea at a local hotel!

I'm was hoping to book a spa afternoon with a pregnancy massage and use of the pool but what does everyone think about such close contact with someone? Realistically I'd be in a little room with the massage therapist for an hour. I'm not sure?

MooseWL · 21/07/2020 09:31

@lattelover12 the spa I'm going to has outlined their safety procedures. I'm having a facial as they're offering reduced options atm so no pregnancy massages :( but they're all going to be wearing face shields, everything disinfected between clients, all staff temperature checked before they come to work etc. Reading them made me feel like they've taken it very seriously and I'm happy with them. It's just personal choice I guess if it's going to make you feel anxious then it's probably not worth it!

Emmy2020 · 21/07/2020 09:35

How is everyone feeling? I’m 31 weeks tomorrow. Just feel completely exhausted and like I can’t breathe, just not feeling great at all.

LatteLover12 · 21/07/2020 09:53

Thanks @MooseWL I haven't called them yet so I can ask what's in place, I'm sure that will put my mind at ease!

I'm 31 weeks too @Emmy2020 and I find myself having to take really deep breaths, especially when lying in bed at night. What with that and my pregnancy related stuffy nose, I sound like an old steam train! Poor DP 😂

Lilice · 21/07/2020 09:59

@ShiningStarz i got a nappy bin this time. With my other two i used to put the dirty nappy outside each time but sometimes my husband wouldn't and that was a source of conflict so this time i decided to give the nappy bin a go to avoid any useless arguments. It's not expensive anyway so if i dont like it thats fine.
@MooseWL the spa break sounds amazing ! I went on a boating holiday last week and really enjoyed it, i so needed a break away and so did the kids.
@ChipsAreLife your friends are sooo nice for throwing you a baby shower!

Lilice · 21/07/2020 10:02

@Emmy2020 i feel out of breath when i go up the stairs and im sleepy all day. Im back to taking micro naps if i can manage 🤤

Emmy2020 · 21/07/2020 10:03

@LatteLover12 It’s hard isn’t it? I think the heat doesn’t help especially with sleeping, I always feel a bit better when it’s cooler.

Emmy2020 · 21/07/2020 10:04

Only thing that’s gives me a little boost is having a Diet Coke! Gives me a bit of energy 😄

MooseWL · 21/07/2020 11:30

@emmy2020 I feel exhausted too I don't think I've had a good night's sleep in months! Was falling asleep at 9 on my pregnancy ball last night 😂
Also walking is getting harder and I also get out of breath walking up the stairs! I've been so bad at keeping up exercise and I wish I'd done more now I'm going to be so unfit! Doesn't help working from home all the time, at least when I was in the office I walked around town on my lunch etc!

MooseWL · 21/07/2020 11:31

@lilice boating holiday sounds lovely! What kind of boat? Glad you got a break!

WillowT · 21/07/2020 11:56

@Emmy2020 Exhausted here too!! And get worn out easily when out for a walk and need pit stops! Maybe this is why I crave sugar so much as a pick me up!! Just started doing an online yoga class and could have easily fallen asleep in it last night when it was the relaxation part 🤣

Tough job growing a little person!

OrDis · 21/07/2020 11:57

I’m always knackered walking up the stairs now and we live in a three story house 😩. I’ve also resorted to a post-work power nap lol

LatteLover12 · 21/07/2020 13:16

I'm definitely a fan of a 3pm snooze these days!
