@LatteLover12 I am just taking the pregnacare 'original' prenatal vitamins, and will confess that I don't always remember Blush. I think Vit D is the only one the NHS recommend after 12 weeks (and iron if recommended). You can get Vit D on its own in most supermarkets/boots so you could just take that and the iron if you don't want to take full multivitamin on top of the iron tablets.

ShiningStarz · 17/07/2020 10:46

@LatteLover12 I'm still
Taking my pregnacare multivitamin and omega oils. I'll continue until pack finishes and switch to the pregnacare breastfeeding ones.

NeuroMama · 17/07/2020 10:46

When I say only one the NHS recommend, I mean the only one they say is needed not that taking a multivitamin/others is bad.

MooseWL · 17/07/2020 11:02

I've been out and about a bit seeing people but just being careful! I live in a village but been travelling to my hometown a few weekends to see family and always shocked at how busy everywhere seems compared to my village!
@neuromama I'm a massive introvert too but lockdown has made me realise how much I do actually need to see people for my sanity!

For vitamins I'm just taking vit D now (when i remember eek) everytime i see the midwife she goes on about a pregnancy vitamin but i think if you eat a balanced diet they're unnecessary. I'm mostly vegetarian so eat lots of veg so feel like a multivitamin is a waste of money

WillowT · 17/07/2020 11:32

Hi All!

I've started going out and about a bit more but selective where I go and what time. Went to the local pub for a meal last night which was lovely but booked an early table so it wouldn't be so busy. I've been the the shops where I've felt comfortable (no big supermarkets!!) I'm finding most places have been really good for social distancing (maybe the bump helps!) We've seen friends outside but seeing family inside but no hugging which I miss!

I've booked myself in for a pedicure for when I start Mat leave. I've let them know I'm pregnant and they have lots of rules in place so feeling confident!

And completely agree on the mental health aspect, it done me wonders to get back out...I was really struggling being in all the time and I've noticed a difference now and feeling much more positive :)

LatteLover12 · 17/07/2020 11:39

Thanks ladies!

Roxy8203 · 17/07/2020 12:32

@LatteLover12 I'm still taking my pregnancy multi vit. The midwife commented last week how good my iron levels are and that they have hardly dropped which was really surprising but good to hear.

I've been going out to shops, mostly because my other half is so busy at work if I didn't we wouldn't have any food but also to garden centre and a few shops in town.
We are going out for lunch with my parents next weekend and Mum called ahead to let them know I'm pregnant and a little cautious. They were really happy she called and said they would sit us away from others and let the waitress know

Lazydaisydaydream · 17/07/2020 15:47

@LatteLover12 I've just started taking iron tablets. They are really affecting my stomach Blush

NeuroMama · 17/07/2020 15:57

Has anyone found any good nightdresses for labouring in?
As hospitals are super hot I am thinking I will want something short sleeved. I am fussy about texture at the best of times, so I want something super soft (probably a cotton/bamboo jersey). I'm thinking button down at the front for skin to skin once baby appears is a good plan (and then works for nursing too). Oh and in a dark colour! I usually try to buy secondhand or ethical brands, but struggling to find anything suitable so open to all suggestions.

WillowT · 17/07/2020 16:16

@NeuroMama I've got a extra large t-shirt and a button down nightie that feels really soft...both from primark and black!! Not sure what will be better so went with both!

LatteLover12 · 17/07/2020 16:34

Me too @lazydaisydaydream ☹️

I bought this one from JoJo @NeuroMama (I'll not be labouring now mine but will use it postnatally).

LatteLover12 · 17/07/2020 16:35

in mine 🙄

Laura1348 · 17/07/2020 17:15

Has anyone got any thoughts about a gro egg?
Thanks

Smilymami · 17/07/2020 17:39

@ShiningStarz I had my scan last Tuesday at 32+2, baby is now 4lb and 1oz or 1.83kg.. gained over a pound in 2 weeks. I am so pleased with that. Looking better on the charts already, nearing the 50th centile. Hope ur baby has picked up too at next scan.
Anyone else struggling with hip pain at night. I can only lie on one side for about an hour or so before it starts to really hurt and I have to change to the other side. I think my continuous movements are disturbing my poor hubby but he won't say anything.. lol.
I started packing babys hospital bag. For those who have been mum's before can you please tell me if I need to pack some formula milk to the hospital incase my breastmilk doesn't flow right away?

ChipsAreLife · 17/07/2020 17:43

Hi guys, sorry been MIA as so busy. I feel like times going waaaaay to fast and it needs to slow down so I can get organised!

Catching up a bit but we've got a baby bjorn couldn't find one I wanted on Fb so treated this baby to something new.

The nightie I think with my first I just had a bra on and no pants. I was so hot.... in late December ... which turned out to be sepsis driven temperature 😅 I would get a nightie just in case you have a section as you won't want anything near your scar.

Re going out I've been going to supermarkets, friends and family gardens and went to a big shopping centre yesterday. I've felt fine the whole time! My girls have been back at school since beginning of June and no problems there either. I think it boils down to you as an individual, your local risks etc. however I think it's good to try push yourself to go out if you can. Even just having a coffee in a cafe garden, it really helps your mental health.

@Lorna198 I'm so sorry you've had a bad time. Sounds like they're on it. I hope you're ok?

My friends threw me a baby shower last weekend in the park. Was sooo lovely! Got some Gorgeous gifts too!

@Laura1348 yes we've a gro egg and it's good. We needed it more in our previous house as it was older and got cold at night. But they're good!

My ankles and feet are starting to swell now 😢 anyone else?

Also supermarkets seem to have white baby grows back in if anyone needs them still.

Hope everyone else is well and looking forward to the weekend! X

@ChipsAreLife
Thanks. Think I'm going to invest... my house seems to be super hot and I like the fact you can see it instantly- also use the gro bag so I think they're linked
Thanks

ShiningStarz · 17/07/2020 18:35

@Laura1348 I bought the gro egg 2 and I actually have it plugged it to see out of interest the temperature of our room. The light glows to be a night light but not that bright although there is a button at the side to turn it up and down which I haven't tried yet.

@Smilymami that's great need!! I'm sure you are so relieved!! I'v my fingers and toes crossed for my appt on wed!! Then I'v one the following wed so it'll really hopefully show me growth at both and put my mind at ease. Hip pain, calf pain, lower back pain all in the middle of the night / early morning!! Oh I moan and groan with every turn and I couldn't care less what my DP thinks loll!!!

@NeuroMama I bought a 2 pack of nighties from Matalan for I think £6 ish. Yes they are thin but they are only for the hospital! Haven't tried them on yet but I'm usually a 10 and bought them in 12-14, they aren't maternity. I did get a maternity pj set and black button nightdress from
Boohoo.com
Before they made the news for
All the wrong reasons!!!

Laura1348 · 17/07/2020 18:38

@ShiningStarz
Thanks. I'm
Pleased you can change brightness I didn't want anything too bright!

Lazydaisydaydream · 17/07/2020 20:17

@Smilymami I wouldn't bother packing formula if you want to breast feed. You'll just produce colostrum to start with, that's all baby needs for the first days until your milk comes in. Just let them feed as much and as often as they want so that your body knows to start producing milk. If you give the baby formula than your body won't get the message to produce milk, but if there was any issue with feeding the midwives could help you express or with latch etc.
The best thing I can advise to anyone wanting to breast feed is to find some local support - join the local la leche league facebook page for your area and get the name of a good IBLC who could help with any issues. Smile

Lorna198 · 17/07/2020 21:20

Thanks for the love ladies, needed it!
Scan today was perfectly fine. Fluid around the baby and Doppler reading was all clear so looks like I didn’t need to panic so much! Next one on Monday so fingers crossed all continues well!

I went to primark for strappy cotton nighties. I’ve only ventured to shops once other than supermarket. Dying for an afternoon at the pub. Thinking next month when people have had a while for the novelty to wear off and it’s quieter lol

ShiningStarz · 18/07/2020 06:07

That's great @Lorna198 glad all is ok 💜
You must be so relieved. How do they do the Doppler check on the placenta?

ShiningStarz · 18/07/2020 06:30

@Lilice are you still getting the pain under boob? Mine seems to be constant now! I'll ask midwife next Wed xx

ShiningStarz · 18/07/2020 06:59

Which baby bjorns did you all get?
There seems to be ones that are mixture polyester and 100% cotton 🤔 so confused as was sold on joie Sansa rocker that was plus in. The bjorn in comparison has none of that and extra £35 for toy bar 😢

Bubble29 · 18/07/2020 07:47

@ShiningStarz my friend has borrowed us this one and we managed to get another one from FB market place (including the toybar).

www.johnlewis.com/babybjörn-bouncer-balance-soft-grey/p4205065

Someone I follow on IG posted that you can get universal toy bars on amazon that fit the bouncer, which is a lot cheaper. I took a picture of the post and it has thousands of reviews.

ChipsAreLife · 18/07/2020 07:51

@ShiningStarz we've got a bouncer bliss mesh. I wanted that one as you can wipe it clean and I'm all up for reducing washing when we become a family of 5 😆

If you wanted the rocker get that! I had those with the girls and they were fab! I'm getting the baby bjorn as it's more portable and I'll need to move around more with the other kids so makes life easier for me!
