Aw sorry to hear that @newbyxx. But hopefully you'll get to see your baby even sooner now. Good luck with your scan. Keep us updated x

AnonyHB · 26/05/2020 06:09

Busylizzie85 · 26/05/2020 06:39

Good luck @newbyxx ❤️

HaichMal · 26/05/2020 07:31

Good luck @newbyxx keep us posted!

newbyxx · 26/05/2020 07:33

Been on the monitor this morning, movements still not as usual but I've felt him so that's the main thing, waiting on when they can fit me in for
A scan. I have a feeling they will want to send me home but I just don't feel comfortable but then again does 4 days make a difference? I'm not sure x

umabb · 26/05/2020 08:09

@newbyxx very critical last stage, you got to be comfortable with any decisions to make as you know the pregnancy /the baby best. Best of Luck! Xx

Busylizzie85 · 26/05/2020 08:44

Hopefully had my last midwife appointment this morning although I am booked in for the 9th of June when I'll be 4 days over due. Blood pressure fine, baby still head down but on the right hand side still which is fine but makes a quicker labour if she's on the left. I guess I'll have to keep going on the ball to encourage her to move 🤞🏼 the end is near!!

I've replaced my chair with the fitness ball in my home office today 😀 he's head down but still back to back. I was told leaning forward would help him turn. And maybe I can bounce him out earlier too! Haha

BirdGarden · 26/05/2020 09:53

Good luck @newbyxx - definitely tell them if you're not quite happy about anything; mother's intuition is important.

@umabb I put my ball in 4 weeks ago and ditched the chair; my hips are so much better and my spd much less likely to catch me unaware. Feel much better this pregnancy for it - was on crutches last time.

Might be last midwife appointment this morning! Baby currently thoroughly unengaged, bum under ribs...

newbyxx · 26/05/2020 09:59

Seen the doctor I feel more reassured now, going to have another sweep today and if that is done ok they will bring my induction forward. If cervix still to high then I will stay in to get monitor untill induction on Saturday. Feel better I'm being monitored instead of worrying at home
X

umabb · 26/05/2020 10:01

Very sensible plan @newbyxx good luck with the sweep ! Keep us posted x

umabb · 26/05/2020 10:03

@BirdGarden have you heard about peanut balls? I'm using the usual round fitness ball but apparently peanut shaped ones are very good for labour. Not sure if should get one of those too

MissisBee · 26/05/2020 10:15

@newbyxx glad you've got a plan you're happy with and hope everything goes well.
I've just arrived at maternity with reduced movements and of course baby has started having a party the moment I got here!

Millettmum · 26/05/2020 10:20

@MissisBee
Same happened to me, got really upset and then got to hospital and felt silly. But best to be safe than sorry.

chocolate26 · 26/05/2020 10:23

@newbyxx glad you have a plan you are happy with! Good luck with the sweep 😊 it is so worrying when you don't feel like they are moving as they usually do!

Gigitree · 26/05/2020 11:16

@newbyxx glad to hear you’ve got a plan sorted and you’re much happier with it. Certainly sounds like a sensible plan to me. Good luck and keep us posted as much as you can!

HaichMal · 26/05/2020 11:18

@newbyxx glad you have a plan and hope all goes well with the scan and the sweep.

@MissisBee this was me on Thursday - exactly the same!

Been to see the midwife. She thinks I might be in early labour. Baby is 3/5 engaged and her head is fixed (she tried to wriggle it with her hand and it did not budge - not the most pleasant thing) and I've had constant hip and back pain since I got up, as well as some Braxton hicks. I've added the extra bits to my hospital bag this morning so we'll see what happens I guess.

BabyBird20 · 26/05/2020 11:29

This may be a daft question but when packing the hospital bag, have you got a separate bag of bits you need during actual labour or will you have the big bag with you the whole time? I have no idea how any of it works!! Just thinking about making it easier for DH to get the right stuff out at the right time! Can't believe how close it feels we are all getting now!! 😍😍

UKtoSK · 26/05/2020 11:33

Love all the bump photos! Thinking back to November when I first found this thread... feel so lucky to be here.

For anyone suffering with hip pain at night, I was having a really hard time with it, almost being brought to tears in the middle of the night and barely able to sleep more than a few hours. I started propping myself up in bed due to acid reflux and found my hip pain got a lot better. I have attached a photo of my crazy pillow mountain set up that forces my husband to sleep in the spare room most nights 😂 I now only wake up maybe twice to pee or turn over and otherwise sleep straight from 11pm to 6am which is a lot better than I’ve had in months! Think being propped up takes the pressure off the hip joint, especially having the cushion under my bump/waist.

Home again now, thankfully everything fine. Even though it's the right thing to do, it's hard not to feel like the world's most embarrassing fraud when they start having a disco on the monitor 😆

Exciting @HaichMal, hope things make swift progress for you!

@BabyBird20 I've one bag for my stuff, but there are 2 compartments - smaller one for extra stuff if I have an extended stay. And a separate bag for baby.

@UKtoSK that pillow mountain looks AMAZING!!

Mj2196 · 26/05/2020 12:33

@BabyBird20 I’ve got one huge bag but a large zipper bag with my “labour essentials” (lip balm, cooling spray ,mints ,hair brush ,bobble, grips ,pads ,straw ,spare undies ect )

I’m thinking to leave my going home clothes & baby’s bag in the car then dp can just bring Those when he comes in when I’m moved to labour ward .

Really trying to pack minimum But then thinking if I have a 3 day induction again il need most of it !🤦🏻‍♀️

HaichMal · 26/05/2020 12:40

At the moment I have a bag for me which has during and after in, and I've packed the changing bag for baby which has nappies, clothes, muslins, and a few other little bits.

LillianFullStop · 26/05/2020 12:55

Wow @newbyxxx glad you got your scan and you have a plan in place you're comfortable with. You could be very soon. @HaichMal early labour wow could be very soon!

I've got very frequent BH now occasionally with some cramping to go with it but def not regular yet. I think my body is on alert alert mode now - I need to make it to my ELCS and my sister coming over to look after DD! I'm as prepared as I can but if things kick off quickly in the middle of the night I might have to go in by myself until my sister gets there - there's a chance DH could miss it if it's true what they say about second babies coming quicker!

3 bags for me:

  1. backpack (my essentials, baby's first change of clothes and nappies), bottles and formula for first feed, maternity notes)
  2. Bag of snacks and drinks
  3. Cabin bag with all the rest

I keep seeing people bringing a towel and a pillow but I don't see how I could fit them in Confused

BabyBird20 · 26/05/2020 13:03

@MissisBee that happened to me the last two times I went in after not feeling him for hours!! In fact the last time he was then so overactive on the monitor I had to stay til he chilled out again to check his heart rate!! 😬😬

Thanks for the advice on baby bags too, and @Mj2196 and @LillianFullStop , I feel like I have no clue what I'm doing!! Sure it'll all come together in the end! Fingers crossed I'll actually be prepared when he does decide to arrive!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻
