@peetieswie you don't have a mark on you either! You might not get any/much bigger, and your bump is also quite high I think (so is mine!) which makes it look more obvious I think.

I'm afraid I'm another one with no stretch marks, used Palmer's cocoa butter in both pregnancies, this is my second in two years. Crucially though my mum didn't get them with me, which I think is the real answer, even though she was huge with me in the end.

We all carry differently; my relative is 10 weeks less pregnant than me but bigger, I've couriered her half my maternity clothes because she needs them more than me. One more person says "oh you have a boy bump" to me though and I may swing for them. I had a "boy bump" with my daughter and I can assure you she definitely has a hoo-hoo and an attitude.

Gigitree · 25/05/2020 16:05

Ahhhh everyone’s bumps look gorgeous!

I’m firmly in the absolutely-covered-in-stretch-marks group! I think it is definitely more to do with genetics than what cream you use. My mum and sister both got lots and I already had lots from puberty so I knew I would get loads.
Interestingly they’re more round the sides though where as I thought they would be across the top of my bump and maybe even underneath 🤷🏼‍♀️

peetieswie · 25/05/2020 16:10

I'm sure my mum has stretch marks so I'm surprised. I've religiously used oil in the evening every day (not bio oil as it smells of petrol to me. Think its called omega oil). I have got stretch marks on my boobs tho so not got away with it completely. Could still get some bump ones but hoping not. Definitely feel very high still as you said! Friends keep saying boy bump but then others say girl cos my face and ankles are huge so it's all a nonsense.

MissisBee · 25/05/2020 16:45

I've very few stretch marks too, which is weird, as I have loads on my thighs from my teens. I think my bump's on the small side, and definitely was last time. I'll get a picture later

Busylizzie85 · 25/05/2020 16:50

Apart from ones I already have from growing up, I have only had a couple more stretch marks appear in the last week so so far so good, hopefully they don't all appear afterwards 🙈

Cb31 · 25/05/2020 16:51

@AndddddHerewegoagain congratulations!!!!

It's lovely to see all the bump pics 😊. Here's mine taken yesterday (38 +1). Its probably good that I've not seen many people because everyone I have seen has been shocked at how huge my bump is... I have to remember that they don't mean anything bad by it.

Ginfilledcats · 25/05/2020 17:09

Envious of you all with few stretchMarks! I had non until about 30 weeks. Now at 38 I look like my underbelly and hips have been mauled by a tiger with purple dye on his claws!!! My bump is aaaaalll in the front, can't tell I'm pregnant from behind so that's why. Was previously a size 10. Been using bio oil since 15 weeks twice a day. Done bugger all haha!

Magpiefeather · 25/05/2020 17:18

Yeah I’ve loads of stretch marks but they don’t bother me really. I did well not to get any right up until about 39 weeks with my first and then they all appeared! This time they’ve appeared sooner but My bump is all front too.

I agree it’s all genetic. I’ve got quite dry skin, already had stretch marks on my thighs etc so was expecting it.

All the bumps looking lovely ladies, each beautiful in all different ways! Just goes to show how differently different women carry.

Mj2196 · 25/05/2020 18:29

@peetieswie another lovely clear bump!

I’m stripier than tigger these days 🤣 tbf they are old ones from the first time round that have just re stretched& have stayed fairly silver, they were angry red welts last time. But I feel better knowing that 12 months after dc1 you could barely see them . My belly button on the other hand has got its own thing going on !!!! My dp has a right laugh about it lol

Zoey92 · 25/05/2020 19:03

I'm loving seeing all these bump pictures 🥰 you all look fantastic

@Cornishbumpkin looking fabulous!

Cornishbumpkin · 25/05/2020 19:58

Aww thankyou @Zoey92 your bump is so neat!

HaichMal · 25/05/2020 20:02

This is me last week at 36 weeks and my bump has dropped. I always carry in the front and quite low but there is a definite noticeable drop this time. I have tiger stripes from my first, which did go a bit red again with my second, but have so far stayed silver this time. I've not really used anything on them though. I've had some on my legs and hips for years though so I expected them.

I felt so sorry for my SIL when we were at my brother's step-dad's funeral because all she heard were comments about how large she was, was she sure her dates were right, was she sure she wasn't have twins, etc.? And she was there on crutches too because of her SPD. There's just no need.

Yep, a but hormonal, tired and grumpy recently. Feeling quite drained the last few days as well. Lots of BH - sometimes it feels like my bump is constantly tight/cramping but nothing else happening that I can tell.

I have the midwife tomorrow (37+4). At the moment, the appointments are the only time I leave the house, so they're a bit surreal.

I had a 40 week appointment with my second, and a 41. They only do their clinic around here on a Tuesday and I think with my toddler, my dates lined up perfectly with that. I know I'll have one at 39+4 this time and was assuming I would have one at 40+4 as well, but I will make sure to ask tomorrow.

@umabb I wasn't planning on it. I have one but I really need to start using it more. Maybe I will actually get into the habit now I'm not working any more? My last 2 labours were really quick (toddler and MMC) so in my head, I'm not expecting to be there too long. I'd really like a water birth if I can manage it though. Been saying that since pregnant the first time.

@AndddddHerewegoagain congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I'm glad induction didn't go too badly and hope you'll be home soon (and that you managed a nice rest)

@Girlinajumpsuit I haven't done those things either. I do pelvic floor exercises because they're meant to help my hips and stomach muscles, and I did notice a difference between my 1st and 2nd in terms of tearing and pushing, and I'm not sure whether that's because of them or not, but figure it couldn't hurt. Finding it a bit more difficult to squeeze at the moment though. I do have a birthday ball this time as I was recommended it for my hips and pelvic girdle but haven't used it much. I'm hoping to use it a bit more as I'm too sore to walk this time, which I did do last time. I might try and harvest colostrum but probably not just now, as I have nothing to put it anyway.

HaichMal · 25/05/2020 20:15

@NakeliP yep, this is me quite often too. Along with what @LillianFullStop describes, especially the middle of the night part. Going so often at night at the moment, as I have to go if I wake up even if the amount is tiny, that the trips are often not worth the effort.

@BirdGarden I will add breast pads to my bag, anti-bacc gel, along with nipple cream and barrier cream. I wasn't sure if I should take it and use it that early, I don't know why but you and @Magpiefeather have reassured me my instincts were correct as I packed it the first time.

I'm going to add those necessary bits, as well as a few more bits for baby, and then create a second bag for if we do end up in longer. With my first I was in just over 24hours and second was about 12hours, so I don't want to take too much yet at the same time take too little.

BabyBird20 · 25/05/2020 21:45

Just catching up on all the lovely bump pics!! I was feeling quite optimistic about stretch marks but have definitely got some tiger stripes in the last couple of weeks!!
Here's a pic of mine and me when my work friends dropped round a surprise baby shower gift and sash for me before a zoom meet up!! ❤️

Happy 37 weeks today @Cornishbumpkin and @umabb!! We're reached full term!!

Happy 37 weeks @BabyBird20 and @umabb Grin can't believe we're here already!

BirdGarden · 25/05/2020 22:11

Gorgeous cat @HaichMal Smile Mine gets so weird with me being pregnant - typical bloke Grin I know what you mean about only leaving the house for midwife appointments. I keep panicking I'll forget how to drive/park!

Lovely bumps everyone Flowers

LillianFullStop · 25/05/2020 22:23

Loving all these bump pics! Here's mine I can rest a cup on it when I'm sitting down Hmm I'm very short so with my short torso bump is all out front!

Hip pain is so bad now I dread going to sleep as tired as I am. Trying something new tonight I'll try sleeping with a bump band to see if it helps. Bet I just get uncomfortable and end up taking it off in the middle of the night.

Have re-packed my bag (again). Swapped out PJs for a night dress and added a 0-3 size outfit in case baby is bigger than newborn somehow!

Added last minute things: cough drops (to avoid coughing after a section), hair grips and packets of facial tissues. Cabin bag is bursting at the seams I think the lucky midwife to help me get something out after my section will be in for a shock when they open it!

For some reason I am getting the feeling I might go into labour before my ELCS date next week!

Loving the bump pics! You all look fab!

@MissisBee Thanks! I'm exactly the same re colostrum, DC1 had a NICU stay due to low sugars otherwise I wouldn't bother. Saying that, I'm 37wks and haven't ordered the syringes yet Grin

Kez437 · 26/05/2020 01:32

Loving all these bump pics and how different we all are, from 'high' to 'low', big' to 'small', stretch marks are none I think they are all beautiful. The female body is truly incredible. Celebrated my first wedding anniversary today and went for a walk with hubby to the sea close to us and took this pic, I definitely looked more elegant this time last year 😂 Feeling like a whale now and happy for baby to make an appearance sooner rather than later but also feeling very lucky and grateful 🥰 38+2

Ahh what a 24 hours, had two triage visits yesterday due to reduced movements the monitor trace were fine but I wasn't happy with my movements so ended up staying in hospital over night, got a scan this morning at some point and talks to bring my induction forward from
Saturday, baby still quiet over night/ this morning so I'm thinking of pushing for this! Hopefully they listen
