@AndddddHerewegoagain Wonderful news!! Many congratulations!! Glad everything went well.

BirdGarden · 25/05/2020 09:37

@AndddddHerewegoagain huge congratulations - so glad it went well for you and the pessary did enough of the work (you must've been ready to go anyway!). What a fantastic size for a girl too!

@Magpiefeather it's similar here, I'm in a rural county so nearly all the appointments are at the county's only hospital with an MLU and one scanning room. Then there are two clinics held at other ends of the county once a week. I doubt they'd let me go to one of the other clinics but I will ask if I can have a 40 week appointment as I'm planning on not accepting the 41+4 induction. I don't want a sweep either, but would feel better if someone had a listen in and feel of baby at that stage.

peetieswie · 25/05/2020 09:59

Also planning on refusing induction and sweep as long as baby is healthy @babybird20. Also hoping my local midwife led unit will reopen before too long so more chance of water birth.

I would still like conformation of baby's position though. Also feel like I've got a UTI. left a message but no reply so don't know if it's safe to wait till Thursday appointment. Should be phoning emergency number? . Waiting for iron tablet prescription to be sent to my local pharmacy too. Hoping that will help with worsening cramps and energy.

Rinoa · 25/05/2020 10:22

Congratulations @AndddddHerewegoagain ! 👶🏻 🤗

MissisBee · 25/05/2020 10:48

Wise words, as ever, @SerBrienneOfHouseTarth
The colostrum is the only thing I'm doing - if I'd had a straightforward term baby last time, I probably wouldn't even be bothering with that! Tried perineal massage, didn't like it.
@peetieswie can you try 111 about the UTI? It's better not hanging about with those.

BabyBird20 · 25/05/2020 10:49

Huge congratulations @AndddddHerewegoagain So exciting to hear baby news!!

Thank you to everyone who gave me advice when I was having a meltdown the other day, I'm still in two minds about complaining as I see so many other people having elective c sections I think my hospital is being a bit over cautious on them! If they had only reassured me I'd be ok I would be more ok with going for natural labour! I'm currently starting to do lots of the things advised to try and prepare for labour, perineal massage (what a barrel of laughs!! 😬😬), colostrum harvesting, ball bouncing, you name it I'm trying it, hoping to get him to appear early but knowing my luck I'll go to 42 weeks and his head will be the size of a 3 month old!! 😱

chocolate26 · 25/05/2020 11:32

@AndddddHerewegoagain congratulations 😊 sounds like it went well! 9lb too! Well done you!

chocolate26 · 25/05/2020 11:36

Is anyone feeling really hormonal at the moment? I'm so exhausted and feeling really teary and grumpy! I feel like I could cry at anything 😫 I've been having a few cramps in my lower back and at the bottom of bump and also quite a lot of watery discharge thismorning! I feel like my body is preparing for labour but I'm only 36+2 so i more than likely have weeks to go yet!

Cornishbumpkin · 25/05/2020 11:38

Big congratulations @AndddddHerewegoagain glad you had a positive induction!

@chocolate26 I'm with you on the emotional side, I spent all morning yesterday in tears because my baby shower was cancelled Confused

UKtoSK · 25/05/2020 11:43

@AndddddHerewegoagain congratulations! Glad you had a better experience with induction than expected and that baby girl arrived safely!

So excited to see everyone else’s babies start to arrive soon!

Someone mentioned someone commenting on their bump size, I’ve been getting those comments for weeks “how are you so big already” “only 8 months!?” Etc etc. I swear my bump doesn’t even feel that big to me. Photo was taken yesterday. Really curious what everyone else’s bumps look like. I’m going to miss dressing the bump. It’s nice not having to suck my tummy in whatever I wear!

35+2

Busylizzie85 · 25/05/2020 12:11

@UKtoSK you have a lovely bump and it does not to big at all it looks perfect!
This was mine last Wednesday when I was 37+5 I feel big and very heavy been trying all the tricks to get things going now, bouncing on the ball, super spicy food and raspberry leaf but nothing seems to be happening at the moment.

38+3

@umabb might be worth asking your midwife about the birthing balls. I asked mine and she said not to bother bringing your own as they have loads of them at our local hospital!

@uktosk your bump looks so lovely! I don’t understand those comments at all because it looks like a perfectly neat bump to me!
I really don’t understand why people feel the need to comment on people’s bumps, so long as mum and baby are happy and healthy who cares!?
I was already big to start with so my bump is enormous but it took so long for me to have a proper bump I’m just embracing it and loving it!
Not sure why my arse needed to grow about 5 sizes bigger though? How’s that going to help? 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Rinoa · 25/05/2020 12:15

@UKtoSK you look great! Ugh hate when people comment about size, I'm sure they mean well. I think they think if they say bump is big that baby is nice and healthy. And others that say it's small mean to say you haven't gained weight and still looks good. It's hard to say anything about size, I think now going thru pregnancy I I will reserve any comments about size. I've learned the hard way lol I feel so huge and swollen. I've had really hot hands and feet lately apparently that's a thing in pregnancy. 38+3 today. Get tired very easily but I try to stay active as I'm not going out out for walks. I make the most of cleaning, laundry, etc to keep me moving. And of course light exercises. Happy Bank holiday ladies

@Busylizzie85 thanks for sharing, you look great too! I love seeing other people’s bumps, I think they’re all so beautiful. I’ve always been fascinated by pregnancy and baby bumps and so happy I am getting to experience it for myself now when I was worried I never would.

Babymaher · 25/05/2020 12:38

@UKtoSK you have a beautiful perfect bump. I used to take so much offence when people would say your really small or your really big and now I don’t care my baby is healthy, I’m healthy it makes no difference what my bump looks like. Photo is of my bump at 37+3! Also embrace all those stretchmarks someone commented on mine and I just said I didn’t care I’m growing a little human in there and it ain’t easy it doesn’t make me any less beautiful!! Had my first try at harvesting colostrum today managed 0.25ml DH was impressed 😂 like others my mood has been very up and down I’ve cried at the most bizarre things.

BirdGarden · 25/05/2020 13:13

I think @Rinoa is right; when people say big bump they mean what a lovely healthy baby you've grown Smile you'd like to think fellow mums would be sympathetic because this is not a comfy time for anyone!

This is mine at 38+3 (today). Growth scan at 36+4 for only measuring 30 revealed baby was largely measuring two weeks ahead - not behind! There is no room left for my vital organs Sad

I've not been emotional at all recently, last wobble was weeks ago. But I really want husband to help me to through a pile of "stuff" that needs sorting into recycling/charity/ebay etc and I've threatened him with an emotional wobble if it doesn't happen today because I've got the day off work to do it!

Mj2196 · 25/05/2020 13:44

37+2 . & feeling surprisingly good !
Spending the day scrubbing my carpets & washing baby clothes while it’s sunny . Can’t cope with how cute they look on the line 😭

Mj2196 · 25/05/2020 13:44

37+1 sorry* .getting ahead of myself 😂

newbyxx · 25/05/2020 13:52

Loving all the bump pics here's mine at 38+2 x

UKtoSK · 25/05/2020 13:53

Love all the bump photos! Thanks everyone for sharing and the nice comments too. I love my bump whatever people say about it or not. I don’t take offence. I think most korean women wear very baggy clothes to hide their bumps whereas I wear quite fitted things to show it off so that might be why they comment on it. I love showing it off, it might be the only bump I ever have (not sure if we’ll ever try for a second baby).

umabb · 25/05/2020 14:05

Awww lovely to see the beautiful bump photos! Honestly you look amazing @UKtoSK ! People who have not been pregnant before tend to respond this way "your bump is big " they just don't know how to express how amazed they are xx
I don't mind my bump I quite like it but my boobs bother me a little. Never been this size!! Hehe

Mj2196 · 25/05/2020 14:36

@newbyxx ur bump is lovely ! How did you get so big with no stretch marks 😬

@AndddddHerewegoagain just seen your update congrats and well done on the 9lb ! If u don’t mind me asking Did you need stitches or anything ? X

newbyxx · 25/05/2020 14:51

@Mj2196 I'm Really not sure I'm surprised myself I really thought I would get them as I have got a big bump and was only size 6/8 before! I've just used the vaseline coco butter moisturiser twice a day, apparently it can be down to genes my mum didn't get any either x

peetieswie · 25/05/2020 14:55

I'm the one who was bump shamed at the park.. This is 36 weeks and measured off the scale last time. Still worried about it but woman didn't help!
