binatracy · 21/10/2004 09:46

morning everyone
well ive just come back from docts appointment which was really good,he was really helpful, ive got appointment with midwife 15th nov,im really excited finding it hard not to tell everyone!! i still dont feel pregnant but doc says thats quite normal? xx hope everyone else is good!

LipstickMum · 21/10/2004 10:40

Hi Bina, glad the doc's was ok. I can't even remember what happens at this early stage except you get your blue folder and they line you up for lots of tests. I guess I should book my appt too, will take a few weeks for a slot to be availiable I should think.

Are you feeling any symptoms yet Bina?

katzguk · 21/10/2004 14:20

afternoon - have now booked both my w/f appointment the booking in one and also my 110 week scan it is on the 10th of Nov. excited about that. And even more ezxcited because they now do a 20 week scan here too didn't get that with DD.

Think managed to keep sickness quiet from step FIl so we will tell them soon but DH not quite ready yet. It will be very strange as DH's mum died this summer, so in telling step FIL he will be very aware that his mum isn't around to tell. Think thats why he's not said anything this visit.

anyhow hope everyone is feeling okay considering they're newly pregnant!!

welcome lollinoddles and lollipoplady,

noodle where in south wales?

katzguk · 21/10/2004 14:20

10 week scan even!!

muddaofsuburbia · 21/10/2004 14:22

110 weeks of pg - what an 'orrible thought

Uwila · 21/10/2004 14:27

Did you know that an elephant pregnancy lasts for two years? Poor elephant mamas...

GeorgesMummy · 21/10/2004 14:40

Hi everyone,Congratulations to you all. I found out yesterday that I'm pg I think I'm about five weeks,so very early stages at the moment. No sickness yet but I am just waiting for it as I was sick for the whole 9 months with DS! I'm not sure when to see my doctor, does anyone know, is it too early at the moment? Also, when is the first scan, I know it used to be at 12 weeks but a few people have mentioned scans at 8 weeks?

Uwila · 21/10/2004 14:49

Sorry everyone but I'm sort of lurking from the due in May thread. My due date is 28 May (by LMP) so I figured I'm sort of between the two bords.

Anyway, I think you should go to your GP as soon as you have a positive pg test. Never too soon. If you wait too long, then you could limit your choics. Best to get the ball rolling (in my opinion).

Congratulations.

GeorgesMummy · 21/10/2004 14:58

Thanks, I will make an appointment tommorow.

Sophmum · 21/10/2004 15:11

Hello everyone. Hope you are all well today.

I saw my GP last week and explained that I wasn't entirely sure of my dates (had a very light period in Sept) and she examined me and thought that she could feel the top of the fundus, so thinks I may have been 10/11 weeks not 5/6 as I thought. I have to wait for a dating scan on 8 Nov now, four days after my booking appt with m/w. Seems weird not to be sure what stage I'm at, as I usually look up the week-by-week descriptions in pg books.

On another (and seemingly popular) theme, has anyone found an effective remedy for constipation? I know Yakult and Fybogel were mentioned ages ago - any thoughts? I'm going to Boots later to see if I can get anything to sort it out. Many thanks.

MrsWednesday · 21/10/2004 16:12

Hello and welcome Georgesmummy. I've already been to see the doctor (went the day after I got my BFP). If nothing else it gets you into the system early - I've already got my scan date and notes through from the hospital.

Sophmum, I have been suffering from severe constipation. I haven't tried the fybogel as I couldn't find it in my local supermarket, and have been finishing off the Actimel I had in the house before trying Yakult. But I have found that eating tonnes of fruit (apples mainly) has eased things a bit, plus drinking loads and loads of water. It's still pretty bad (and extremely painful) so I intend to try the other options.

Sorry I can't be more helpful!

And hello Uwila

lummox · 21/10/2004 16:39

hello to all and thanks to seabird.

took your advice and just been for a scan at fetal medical centre - v nice dr found a baby with a heartbeat

could not be more excited

just the sickness and complete inability to keep awake to fret about now

hope all is well with everyone

LipstickMum · 21/10/2004 16:47

The only thing that worked for me during pregnancy in the end was lactulose

MrsWednesday · 21/10/2004 16:51

Great news lummox!!!

Very pleased for you.

Now I just need to pluck up the courage to make an appointment for a private scan myself...

LipstickMum · 21/10/2004 18:39

5 weeks today and I booked my first appt with the GP for 8 weeks. Seems like aaaaages away.

I am starting to eat for England too 4 slices of white bread with pb and marmite. I think I am going to have to really watch my diet this time round, I'm not half as fit as I was when I became pg first time round! I'm too tempted to scoff bad snacks (today, twix and 2 bags of frazzles), so I need to make sure I always have good, healthy food in the house to keep the munchies away!

How are you all doing?

katzguk · 21/10/2004 19:15

ahhhhhh, bl**dy morning sickness!!! was hoping to not be as sick with this one as was with DD but throwing up again this evening!!! wish i could fst foward about 14 weeks then i would know it was just coming to an end (morning sickness), was sick until 20 weeks with DD. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

DelGirl · 21/10/2004 19:24

popped in from April thread. Poor you Katzguk. You have my sympathy. I'e had 24 hour sickness for 2 months and its astarted to wear off now. Never been sick though until last night when I was sick 4 times blurgh. And it was after the 1st meal I;ve enjoyed since I became pg. Bloomin awful isn't it. Hope it ends for you soon

katzguk · 21/10/2004 19:30

yep horrid was sick lots with DD

DelGirl · 21/10/2004 19:31
Sad
NQWWW · 21/10/2004 19:58

Feeling sicker and sicker, though I've managed to keep it down so far (close call when I opened the fridge this morning to smell the remains of a tin of "mixed beans in a spicy sauce" - enough to make me want to vom at the best of times). My sense of smell is extremely sensitive now.

Also feeling a bit down this evening as I was supposed to be going out but had to cancel due to dp having to work late. Bloody typical - don't get to go out much as it is.

binatracy · 22/10/2004 09:32

congratulations georgesmummy
ive still got no symptoms! hope everyone is ok,sickness sounds terrible xxx

muddaofsuburbia · 22/10/2004 09:37

Morning ladies

Went out with friends last night which was great. Dh and i agreed that at the first sign of trouble (ie me not being able to eat anything) we'd tell them I was pg. Disappointingly the food was sooo delicious I scoffed 3 courses! That's the most I've eaten in 2 1/2 weeks! So we didn't tell them - I almost wish we had, but I'm only 7 weeks tomorrow, so still early days I guess.

Woke up really worried this morning because I'd been well enough to eat last night, thinking that my symptoms were disappearing, but after chasing ds around his room for a couple of minutes I was running to the bathroom and nearly nearly threw up, which was quite exciting cos I'd had no sickness at all with ds. So today I am definitely pg

Mirage · 22/10/2004 11:09

Just a quickie as I'm feeling pretty horrible & being on the pc seems to aggravate it.

Binatracy,Congratulations.Don't worry about lack of symptoms. If you look at the beginning of this thread, you'll see me whittering on about not feeling pregnant.Haha,I've got my just desserts & feel incredibly sick now.I didn't feel any different at all until I was nearly 7 wks & all of a sudden it just hit me.I had no m/s with dd,didn't even feel queasy,so this is a real shocker.

Congratulations to all the other new June mums to be,sorry I haven't mentioned you all,but feel to sick. Will try again later.
