NQWWW · 18/10/2004 21:39

Hello and congratulations to everybody - mind if I join in? I'm all of 5 and a half weeks, and reckon I'm due on 15th June.

This will be no. 3 - ds is 3.5 and dd has just turned 1 (aaarrrggghhh - am I mad?)

I'm feeling sick and tired (but what's new?). I'm also a bit worried about the visit to Thailand I've got booked for the end of Feb - taking the 2 kids across with my mum, but she's staying on when we come back - a 12 hour flight with a 4 year old and a 1.5 year old on my lap when Im 5.5 months pregnant? I suddenly feel a whole lot sicker........

NQWWW · 18/10/2004 21:40

Whoops - managed to post 3 times - sorry!

LipstickMum · 19/10/2004 08:44

Wow NQ that plane trip will be very interesting! Hopefully the air crew will be mega helpful towards you. You'll have to be super organised
Welcome to the due in June thread too btw, I am due at the end of June.

teabelly · 19/10/2004 09:08

Good morning, how is everyone today? I'm still having the all day nausea feeling...unless I'm eating in which case I'm fine - but if I carry on like this I'll be the size of a house by the time I'm five months, lol!

Mrs Flowerpot and Lipstickmum I know what you mean about the tiredness, I'm just sooo tired all the time...although dh says he hasn't noticed any change as I fall asleep at the drop of a hat normally anyway, ha ha ha.

Hello and welcome to Yellowbelly and NQWWW.

LipstickMum · 19/10/2004 09:37

Hehe teabelly, I'm not sure if I am noticing the tiredness more because I have a dd now and before I was obviously able to nap whenever I liked. I was in bed by 930 last night

Apart from that, I'm ok, keep getting brief waves of nausea, teasing me until i get the real full blown morning sickness

Still, not bad considering am barely 5 weeks pg

MrsWednesday · 19/10/2004 09:41

Is it nearly bedtime yet? Another one suffering from exhaustion - not helped by the fact that I keep waking up at night to go to the loo.

Hello to Yellowbelly and NQWWWW. Yellowbelly, I've also been having those type of cramps, and I definitely remember them from last time. I think it's just the little bean digging in.

NQWWW - your flight to Thailand sounds like fun!!! The only thing I'd say is try and sit near other people who have kids - they won't mind if there is any noise, and often the kids entertain each other.

LipstickMum · 19/10/2004 09:51

LOL Mrs Wednesday, only 12 hours till bedtime-ish!! Hurrah!

MissTuesday · 19/10/2004 12:29

Morning everyone

Mrs Wednesday my ds is a very gorgeous 16 months old bundle of blond curls and giggles, just so so sweet we could gobble him up. Its funny, sometimes I think we couldn't possibly love another little person like we love him or that another little person couldn't be so perfect (very biased parents) but everyone reassures me that you just do and that as soon as number two, three, four etc come along you love them just as much as different as they might be. What has been other people's experience because I know its silly but it worries me a little..??!!

pleeeeeeeeeeeeeese tell me someone has found THE magic remedy for morning sickness. DH and ds and I went away for 4 gorgeous days in the country side and I spent most of it moaning and lying on the bed with morning/all day sickness. I'm going to turn into a bottle of lucozade shortly as it does seem to help but very temporarily.
Dh finds it highly amusing that at 8 weeks pregnant I am already doing the fasten-the-jeans-with-rubber-band at the top button trick. Definitely don't remember having to do that quite this early last time!
xx

teabelly · 19/10/2004 13:07

Miss Tuesday - I'm the same with the top button. In fact I've just bought one of those belly belts and dh ripped the piss out of me saying I was getting it far too early...now he's the one telling me to use it as it's embarrassing having me hoist my undone jeans up all the time, he he he.

muddaofsuburbia · 19/10/2004 13:13

Anything with ginger in it helps my nausea - dh came back home last night with a huuuuuuge packet of ginger nut biscuits for me - awwwww I'm also pondering trying "preggypops" which are herbal lollies. Will have to Google for them though.

katzguk · 19/10/2004 13:15

let us know if you find the preggapops i was going to try some last time with DD but never got round to it. I found that the fairtrade crushed mints (like extra strong mints) were really good because they contained peppermint oil which is good for sickness. If you can stomache it then peppermint tea is good too.

Step FIl arrives soon so just have to try to not be sick tomorrow morning or dash down stairs and close the doors and use the kitchen sink!!

muddaofsuburbia · 19/10/2004 13:16

Here we are girls

Morning Sickness miracle cures hopefully?

welshmum · 19/10/2004 13:33

Late with my welcomes but hello yellowbelly and NQWWWW.
Anyone else suffering with the odd really nasty headache, I had a terrible one last night - don't know what caused it.
Yellowbelly I've had the cramps too but they seem to have eased off now.
As for the tiredness I could hardly drag myself home last night from work...I am a pathetic specimen at the moment - all of it not helped by dd deciding to wake up a few times a night for a 'reassuring' visit from mummy....aaarrghh..she was sleeping right through no probs before I got up the duff.

MrsWednesday · 19/10/2004 14:41

MissTuesday, your DS sounds absolutely delicious.

I'm also suffering from an ever-increasing stomach, by the end of the day it is enormous. Had to lie on the settee wearing baggy pyjamas for most of last night, but think people at work might not approve if I do the same during the day.

Welshmum, I'm also having headaches (not quite as painful as yours sounded though), and I remember having them with my DS, so I'm taking this as a good sign for me. And strangely, my DS was also up last night - he wanted to watch Toy Story at 2am. Arrgh.

Sorry to everyone who is feeling so sick, that must be really miserable. I'm having the odd wave of nausea but nothing like some of you (not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing, if you know what I mean).

teabelly · 19/10/2004 16:43

Mrs Wednesday have visions of you at your desk in your jimjams, lol...have even funnier visions of the faces here if I were to do it too

MrsWednesday · 19/10/2004 17:19

I might as well be in my jim-jams for all the work I've done today. Just can't concentrate on anything unless it's pregnancy related.

Still, it's nearly home-time. Then tea-time. Then sleep time!!!

Yellowbelly · 19/10/2004 17:26

Thanks so much for all your welcomes and reassurance about the cramps. I'm only 6 weeks pregnant and already I can't imagine how I managed without the internet when I had my daughter 4 1/2 years ago. It's so nice to be able to communicate with people who are at the same stage as you.
Sorry to those of you who are being kept awake by little ones, although it wasn't planned I guess that's the advantage of a 5 year age gap!

LipstickMum · 20/10/2004 08:58

Hello Yellowbelly, welcome from me too

I had terrible pains last night (bearable tho), just like ov pain, on my right side. I think I got them last time too, along with general cramps. Not sure what triggered it, if anything. I had cycled into town, about a mile, not very strenuously, maybe that was it..? Went to bed all worried and dreading the next 240 days of worry and anxiety about EVERYTHING!!

katzguk · 20/10/2004 09:03

morning all!

managed i think to disguise morning sickness from step FIL. DH said he could hardly tell and he was listening out (finds it reassuring). Come into work early as have dentsist later need a fillinf so not sure whats going to happen there, know from last time have to have a milder anisthetic but not sure about filling material? would ask at work (dental hospital) but no one knows!!!

LipstickMum · 20/10/2004 09:21

Eeeek! It's always difficult in the beginning to make things up to disguise sickness or why you can't do certain activities!

AM not feeling sick yet, but I think it's still far too early! Dp will be very happy when I am, hormones etc.!

MissTuesday · 20/10/2004 11:32

morning everyone

Well I managed to make it in to work only 45 mins late this morning, thats an improvement on yesterday! I'm just about to crawl under my desk and curl up in a ball now though as I feel so wretched and there are only so many ginger nuts you can eat in one sitting! Any other magic remedies crop up overnight??
xx

LipstickMum · 20/10/2004 12:10

COMPLETELY off the subject of babies... I have just got the details for the most perfect house for us. We are currently in a 2 bed house, way too small for our growing family. This new place has 5 bedrooms!!! 3 bathrooms!!!! 4 reception rooms and a huge kitchen- diner!!! I am trying to stop myself from mentally moving in It will be snapped up I know it and we will be really stretching things if we attempted to buy it. But it looks so perfect We also hadn't planned on moving so soon... I am knocking through walls and creating en suites and all sorts

katzguk · 20/10/2004 12:12

sounds great is it online can we all have a drool!!

LipstickMum · 20/10/2004 12:14

Yes... not sure I can do a link at the mo, my computer is very sick

LipstickMum · 20/10/2004 12:14

...actually, it's way out of our league lol I am dreaming by about 200 grand over budget
