LipstickMum · 20/10/2004 12:19

Oh My God!!! The price is much more attractive than the cost of my stupid southeren dream house

LipstickMum · 20/10/2004 12:20

Have to go now, wish I could stay and dream bout houses .... and babies

katzguk · 20/10/2004 12:25

might be cheaper but i still can't afford it

MrsWednesday · 20/10/2004 12:33

Oh god, that is a lovely house Katzguk. It's just the sort of house I'd love. Wouldn't be able to afford that price either . I think we are going to struggle on in our very, very small terraced house until we are bursting at the seams (i.e as soon as this one - touch wood - comes along).

Sorry to hear you are feeling so rough MissTuesday. I don't have any miraculous cures to offer I'm afraid, although a friend of mine who suffered from bad morning sickness suggested ginger tea (home made).

hi everyone
mind if i join in? its really early days for me,my af was late so i tested 4 days ago and had 3 positive results!! ive got docs appointment tomorrow! does anyone know if they do test then to confirm? sounds wierd but dosent feel real yet,is that normal? xxx

katzguk · 20/10/2004 13:07

will depend on surgery but mine didn't just took my home test in fact with DD was told home tests are better than the one they use!!

binatracy · 20/10/2004 13:11

thanks for that! i know im being thick! but what will doc do tomorrow?

muddaofsuburbia · 20/10/2004 13:14

Binatracy - congratulations!!

I still haven't made a GP appt and i'm 7 weeks this weekend. Last time with ds, I phoned the surgery and said "I've just found out I'm pregnant, can I make an appt. please?" and the receptionist answered "Do you want to keep it?"

When I picked myself up off the floor and made my appt. it was with the m/w at 12 wks - my GP didn't want to know (or rather the receptionist didn't )

With my first pg (m/c at 10wks) the GP didn't test, he just asked if I'd done a test myself and when my last period was - so he told me what I already knew. I think he took my blood pressure, but that was it.

We'll hopefully have moved house before 12 wks anyway, so I'll be changing surgeries - might as well wait til then. Fingers crossed...

katzguk · 20/10/2004 13:15

not a lot if he's like mine, gives you a form to fill in to get your maternity exemption certificate (nice neat credit card now) and will refer you to the midwifes, slightly different here for me because my W/F is on whats known as a one to one scheme so i see one M/W whole way through, she delivers and then does after care too.

binatracy · 20/10/2004 13:18

thanks,i guess im just really excited and its my first, maybe bit early to see doctor !!!! i thought they would do test to confirm! im so new to all this!! xx

binatracy · 20/10/2004 13:24

even though ive done 3 tests and all positive,im not having any symptoms? how long before anyone got symptoms? maybe its bit early yet eh!!!!

teabelly · 20/10/2004 13:32

Hi there Binatracey, congratulations

I' eight weeks tomorrow and got sore boobies and massive lethargy from the start, the nausea feeling kicked in about 2 weeks ago, and has stepped up a gear yesterday and today, groan! With ds however I don't remember feeling this bad and certainly not this early so as it's your first you may have a few weeks before it starts - or you could be very lucky and not get any at all

binatracy · 20/10/2004 13:40

thanks teabelly, think im just worring bit cause i dont actualy feel preg! just strange! and have been burping alot!![embarrassed] is that normal?? xx

teabelly · 20/10/2004 13:59

katzguk · 20/10/2004 14:06

bina it sill worth going to the GP because you'll get the medical exeptmtion form which gets you free precriptions, free dental care free opticians and free wigs!!

binatracy · 20/10/2004 14:08

ha ha yeah farts to!! how do you get smileys up? have tried but cant get it to work?

teabelly · 20/10/2004 14:08

binatracy · 20/10/2004 14:10

yeah i think now ive made appointment i may as well go! how far along are everyone else?

teabelly · 20/10/2004 14:11

Binatracy at the bottom of the page where you add to the messages there's a list...you just put the relevant word inside the square brackets, e.g. smile = smile / blush = embarrassed / envy = envious, etc. HTH

binatracy · 20/10/2004 14:13

thanks i tried before but didt work!!

katzguk · 20/10/2004 14:14

wigs.....i know but it was on the details last time i had one!!

me about 6.5-7 weeks

binatracy · 20/10/2004 14:17

katzguk what sort of symptoms are you getting? is this your first? sorry for being nosy!!

teabelly · 20/10/2004 14:18

re the free wigs...not particularly helpful to the majority of expectant mums...free liquorice allsorts for when the cravings kick in on the other hand would be a much better idea, ha ha ha

muddaofsuburbia · 20/10/2004 14:20

Katzgutz - last time I wasn't allowed an exemption certificate till after 12 weeks. I was told you didn't qualify until your were out of the risky 3 months. This was 2002, in Hertfordshire. Does is vary depending wher you are in the world?
