@Blizy I'll be at Ayrshire Maternity Unit, with my corned beef rolls 😂

MissisBee · 30/04/2020 09:10

I've stocked up on granola/cereal bars. During my induction for DS, I wasn't allowed to eat, so survived on lucozade. (Don't panic, I don't think this is standard, mine was not a typical experience!!)
DH can sort his own snacks and any other stuff he wants to bring - he's a grown man!

Chels2 · 30/04/2020 12:17

Hi guys 😊 I was part of the 1st thread but due to the most horrendous pregnancy I haven’t spoke on here since lol! However reading these everyday has kept me sane so thanks lol!

I’m 32+4 with my 3rd boy 💙 my other 2 are 10 & 8 this year so this wee one was definitely not planned but we’r so excited 😊

I did have hyperemesis in my previous pregnancy’s however it went away at 16weeks but for some reason I’ve had it from 6weeks with this one all the way through 🤢 my work have been great considering I haven’t been there much since November! But still on full pay & now off on furlough until 4days before my due date lol!

Also for anyone in scotland... have u recieved your baby box? There brilliant lol loads of wee bits I never thought of buying 🤦🏼‍♀️

Cornishbumpkin · 30/04/2020 12:42

Welcome back @Chels2 sorry to hear you've been having a rough time! Not long to go now. Would you mind posting a list of the bits in the box that you thought were useful but you wouldn't have thought of buying, I think it's a lovely scheme that sadly isn't done in England

Blizy · 30/04/2020 12:59

Hi @Chels2 sorry to hear you've had a rubbish time. I should be getting my baby box this week, so excited!

Chels2 · 30/04/2020 13:01

@Cornishbumpkin thanks 😊 my 2 boys were early by a few weeks so I’m hoping this wee one will be the same & I can get back to feeling human 😂

I got exactly what is listed in the link below .. probably stuff everyone has but for me stsrting again after 8years it’s been great!

Cornishbumpkin · 30/04/2020 13:16

Thanks @Chels2 looks like a really good selection of bits. I'm with you on wanting to feel human again 😂

runfastrun · 30/04/2020 13:19

Hi all,

First time posting here, I’m 33+4 and due on 14th June.

Had a panic about how organised you all are- I’ve got a flat being renovated that’s a complete mess due to corona-related delays, a few bits and bobs for the baby but lots still to source... I need to get a move on, so thanks for the inspiration Smile

Rinoa · 30/04/2020 13:45

34 week midwife appointment today. First face to face in 2 months! Baby measuring at 50th percentile thank God. I asked about water birth and they said it is available. Next one will also be face to face at 38 weeks. It's all happening!

Chels2 · 30/04/2020 13:52

@Rinoa all my appointments have still been face to face not much has changed except I need to go alone which is hard with 2 kids off school & a partner who’s still working full time 🤦🏼‍♀️!

For anyone bottle feeding what milk are you using? I used SMA Gold with my 2 but after 8years it’s all changed & I’m just not sure which one to use!

Also for anyone in Glasgow do yous know if the hospital still provide the milk whilst your there? I read some comments & people are taking in there own formula & bottles which I didn’t do before so wondering if it’s all changed lol?

Blizy · 30/04/2020 14:12

@Chels2 what hospital? I
Will be giving birth in the princess Royal, as far I'm aware they give out milk.

Chels2 · 30/04/2020 16:21

@Blizy yea I’ll be going to the queen elizabeth & had my last 2 baby’s there & was giving milk lol! I’ll ask my midwife on Tuesday just to be sure cause they we’r bottles are great to take home for the first night 🙈! Maybe it’s only Glasgow hospitals that supply milk 😂 xx

peetieswie · 30/04/2020 16:27

Feeling a bit bored. Not had as much work this week but husband constantly super busy with his, and lacking motivation and energy to do house jobs. Trying to remember I am not going to have the luxury of being bored when baby comes! Still doesn't feel real. How are you guys staying busy?

Smiffette · 30/04/2020 17:23

@peetieswie I'm still working, from home now, but the last 4 weeks have been so busy and now I only have 2 weeks to go and my work diary is rammed! glad though as it makes the days go quickly. Most of the stuff for baby girls arrival is sorted, DH is painting the wood work in her room right now! Then we can start putting canvases up and doing all the nice touches!

Her bag is packed, mine is about 80% there! Being at home has made getting things done easier and home for all the online deliveries we've had to place seen as we can't go out to get bits. So I really don't know what I'm going to do with 3 weeks holiday before due date! I'll try and get out for a walk everyday.... weather dependant!

Kez437 · 30/04/2020 18:30

I've been working from home since March and it's been hectic so I moved my leave forward and tomorrow is my last day, 5 weeks before my due date. Part of me feels guilty for some weird reason and as if I have to justify it but on the other hand I am TIRED and I can't wait for some proper sleep, time to do some Hypnobirthing and yoga, some time to clean and get the house ready without having to knacker myself doing it all at the one time. Other than that I intend to go for walks, read a few books and generally take some TLC time, I feel like I've been pregnant forever! I am going to lap it up before baby comes along and I have no me time at all Grin

Busylizzie85 · 30/04/2020 21:57

The pulling/stretching of the tummy and surrounding muscles this evening has been hard! 😳 Baby has been trying to stretch out the belly from the inside very uncomfortable.

BabyBird20 · 30/04/2020 22:01

@Busylizzie85 I've had this for the last couple of days, it feels like there's just no more space available! I have a foot firmly wedged in my ribs and he seems to be rearranging my internal organs while trying to push out of my stomach!! 😩😩 Had a very grumpy day because of it!!

Busylizzie85 · 30/04/2020 22:21

@BabyBird20 any time I put my hand or something near top of bump she's pushing it off! Feet up top and hands down low stretching out from every angle I'm sure she's star fishing 😂

Missgemini · 30/04/2020 23:44

Hey ladies. I've been following the new thread. Having very similar experiences to most of you.
I am absolutely huge and uncomfortable. I literally sleep on pillows now, which I have to say is heaven. Having a pillow underneath the bump and one at the back relieves a lot of the discomfort.
Getting out of bed, walking, sitting, standing, anything is quite uncomfortable otherwise. I have over 4 weeks to go and quite worried about being uncomfortable for so long.

Anyway, it's looking like my lodger will be going in the next 2 weeks, so at least the baby will have his room soonish.
We've bought pretty much everything now. Just need to actually organise them now and finish with the hospital bag.

APD1981 · 01/05/2020 05:26

Just to say...

We're having our babies NEXT MONTH! Some may even arrive THIS MONTH!!

😱❤☺

RPPs · 01/05/2020 05:32

Hello Ladies
I've struggled to keep up but never want to miss a post due to the value they bring in reassuring me that we are all experiencing the same things. I've 3 weeks of work left and just under 6 weeks to DD. Have MW 34 wk apt this morning and Im hoping Bambino has turned but I get kicks and punches left and right so deep down I know Bambi is still in breech. Tried a reverse breech position last night which basically puts you into a crab position but with pillows. It was awful. I had a horror headache for 30mins after. Don't do it.

Do you think our sleeping days are over?

Anyone get stiff hands/knuckles when they wake up?

APD1981 · 01/05/2020 05:43

@RPPs my new time to wake up is between 4&5. I do also wake periodically through the night to turn over as I have to be awake to do that but I struggle to get past 5am. I did fall back to sleep about 6am yesterday and it was fab! Not the norm though, sadly. Ironically, i wonder if i might get better quality sleep when baby is here? Doubt I'll get more sleep but hopefully i won't wake in pain all the time. Probably wishful thinking but got to have hope!

Hope your MW appt goes well. I've been lucky in that since i started seeing MW regularly at 26 weeks baby has been head down and so they think it'll stay that way now. Fingers crossed it has moved for you.

newbyxx · 01/05/2020 05:59

@APD1981 @RPPs I do think our sleeping days are over 😂 I've also been up since 4am wide awake, for me I feel it's down to hip pain. I literally wake up with the indents of creases in the bed sheet all down my left hand side of my body. Being awake so early means I'm starving my 5am ! Currently sat eating cereal in bed next
To still sleep OH x

APD1981 · 01/05/2020 06:04

@newbyxx it's because of hip pain for me too and I'm always starving as well! I often just get up and go downstairs and have food down there so as not to disturb hubby but haven't so far this morning. Been able to amuse myself on my phone for a while instead!

Does anyone else spend the insomnia hours daydreaming about what labour/birth/bringing baby home etc will be like? I do it all the time. I think about the first time my baby is put on my chest and I'm told if it's a boy or a girl a lot. Getting very real now!

Busylizzie85 · 01/05/2020 06:37

I'm also awake at between 4-5am getting used to it now! I have really bad tail bone pain if I am in one position for to long can not get comfortable.
I like to day dream to @APD1981 about what it will be like once she's born 😊
