@LillianFullStop I'm 34 weeks on Monday and I've always had that as a milestone in my head for some reason!

I think in my head that's when I wanted everything ready by, nursery, car seat, my case and babies! so if anything happened early I wouldn't feel unprepared

AndddddHerewegoagain · 24/04/2020 17:48

We were getting out for a morning walk every day at the beginning but i get such bad Braxton hicks and breathlessness now, and the 3 year old just wants to run! Luckily his birthday bike turned up today so thats filled an afternoon!

Luckily next week husband is off work (shift worker) so we can tag team. Also ds loves jumping in muddy puddles so will actually enjoy the change of weather

@Smiffette @Busylizzie85 @LillianFullStop definitely feels like a milestone . I am a big girl already so don't feel like I got many more stretch marks lmao I already had some. Glad the itchiness has gone though.

Bedside cot and car seat/buggy set are due to come next week. Asked DH to move some furniture around for me tomorrow to make space for the cot. Once all that arrives I'll be more at ease. Oh and after we can test run the car seat. I hope it fits!

Smiffette · 24/04/2020 18:25

@Rinoa I really need to give the car seat another try this weekend, it's not easy getting in and out!

Ginfilledcats · 24/04/2020 18:53

We've finally done the lions share of the nursery! Cot and snuzpod erected and bedding in, shelves up and dressed, dresser/changing table up and organised. Car seat unboxed and tested, just need to fit the isofix in the car then we're away.

Pram is still at mums but they'll bring it over once she arrives.

I can't believe I have potentially 6 more weeks of growing to do...feel huge! Ready for some baby cuddles (and the ability to lie on my front) again - but not too soon!

Hope this weather lasts a while longer to eh?

APD1981 · 24/04/2020 19:28

Can you believe that those of us due at the beginning of June only have 3 weeks to go til we're classed as full term? It freaks me out a bit! I have a few things for my hospital bag to sort but other than that I think I'm all done. I too am wondering how I can get bigger. Baby is still sitting really high and my bump is tight and hard under my boobs. I assume it'll start to drop a bit soon. I'm really looking forward to meeting my baby and finding out the sex! I keep daydreaming different scenarios, trying to get my head round how my life is going to change.

33+5

Blizy · 24/04/2020 19:36

I hear you all with the entertaining a little one, my ds is 5 and just awaiting an ASD diagnosis. He is full on 24/7. We are living this weather as he loves to be outside, my days are full of water play, trains and bug hunts. I'm exhausted!

umabb · 24/04/2020 19:57

I didn't think I was too big until I saw the photos the husband took of me today 🤪 my face is like doubled the size and I look like an elephant 😂

32+5 today

MissisBee · 24/04/2020 20:53

34 weeks will be a big milestone for me - only made it to 33+6 last time!!
Had an antenatal appointment today. Blood pressure a little high, baby measuring 50th centile, 4lb 5oz, which was DS's birth weight. But one of the umbilical artery measurements was a bit high, which can indicate a risk of the placenta not working as well. So I've to go back in a week for another check on that and a CTG, then antenatal clinic in 2 weeks.
We had a preliminary chat about delivery options, nothing concrete decided, but he agreed with my thoughts of vbac if spontaneous labour, otherwise section.

32+2

Rinoa · 25/04/2020 06:26

@MissisBee was it a scan? How can they check umbilical cord functions? Sorry just curious! I've got my 34 week appointment next week. First in person appointment in almost 2 months! Looking forward to getting out and checking baby lol

Rinoa · 25/04/2020 06:33

Anyone else get woken up by their rumbly tummy? Lol I had a big dinner as well! Last few days I've woken up soooo hungry. Maybe I'll have some cereal

MissisBee · 25/04/2020 07:33

@Rinoa Yes, it was on the scan, they do a Doppler measurement of the blood flow through the cord

BabyBird20 · 25/04/2020 07:42

Just experienced another pregnancy first being woken by the worst leg cramp ever!! Ouch!! Has anyone else got these yet? Apparently really common but is so blooming painful. Any tips on avoiding them or easing them when it starts? Poor DH thought something was seriously wrong when I woke him up in agony!! 😬😬

Busylizzie85 · 25/04/2020 07:46

@BabyBird20 I have had that twice it's horrid and so painful! Not sure how to stop it as such but I do make sure I have water next to the bed so I can drink throughout the night as I think being hydrated helps.

BabyBird20 · 25/04/2020 07:52

Thanks @Busylizzie85 it was so so painful!! At one point I think I said to my husband there's no way I can do labour if a cramp is this bad!! 😂😂

peetieswie · 25/04/2020 08:45

I had leg cramp last night for the first time too. Woke me up in the middle of the night and tried twisting around but didn't ease immediately. I thought the same - I've heard a contraction is like a cramp and that was awful! 😩

peetieswie · 25/04/2020 08:51

Oh also, have signed up to hire a tens machine. I asked my midwife and he said it's worth it. No idea what to do with it though.

Mj2196 · 25/04/2020 09:17

I suffer horrifically with night cramps due to my anaemia . Seriously recommend foot& leg stretches before bed girls! Sit up on the edge of the bed& get dp to massage it (if possible ) & stand up if you can. Make sure your having lots of water in the day, I also have a banana & melon before bed .

Pegase · 25/04/2020 10:01

Does anyone else sometimes wake up on their back in the night? Not sure what to do about it- always go to sleep on my side

Busylizzie85 · 25/04/2020 11:11

@Pegase I sometimes do no matter how hard I try not to!
I was told that if you wake up on your back not to worry and just turn back on to your side. We can't control fully what we do in our sleep so we have to assume our bodies will do right by us and waking up is it's way of saying you need to move.

Gigitree · 25/04/2020 11:38

@Pegase this happens to me too, but try not to worry. I found this q&a on Tommy’s really reassuring.
The important thing is going to sleep on your side and as @Busylizzie85 says if you wake up on your back just turn over then. I think I end up on my back sometimes purely because my hips are hurting so much from being on my side.

Gigitree · 25/04/2020 11:38

Oops here’s the Tommy’s link

MissisBee · 25/04/2020 12:08

I'm not getting as many leg cramps as I did first-time round, but have really restless legs. I got a magnesium spray on Amazon which I think is helping. And Epsom salts in the bath when I can be bothered to have a bath.
Honestly, no need to panic if you wake up on your back, just turn round when you realise. You've probably woken cos your body realises it's uncomfortable. I get completely breathless if I'm on my back, even if I'm propped up a bit.

UKtoSK · 25/04/2020 14:15

@Pegase I’ve been waking up on my back more often recently, despite propping myself up with my pregnancy pillow, and like @Gigitree said, I think it’s because my hips hurt so much.
A couple of times recently I’ve given up around 4am and propped myself up with pillows and slept half sitting up when I couldn’t take the hip pain anymore.

Pegase · 25/04/2020 15:51

Like the tip on that link to tie your hair in a bun to wake you up. Might try that. Wouldn't mind if it were occasional but seems to be every time I wake I am on my back.
