I'm due to start annual leave 19/05 which will be bang on 37 weeks. Mat leave starts on my due date of 9th June!

Can't wait! But shame we can't do anything. Fortunate to be working from home though I guess

MissisBee · 23/04/2020 16:57

I've been on maternity leave for 2 weeks already. I'd planned it early due to previous pre-eclampsia, as everything started at 30 weeks last time. I'd all these plans to take DS on nice days out everywhere 😂 instead every day seems the same as the last!
I'm thankful that there's no signs of any problems yet, but it's looking like it'll be a looong few weeks until baby arrives.

Definitely lots of moisturiser all round then! 😂
I’m wondering if the dandruff is a mix of drier skin than normal and also using a different shampoo, I switched to dove thinking it would be gentler on my scalp but perhaps just using something different has made my skin react! 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m currently not working so I’ve technically been on maternity leave since we got pregnant 😂 definitely did not plan on being stuck at home for all this time though, I had all these plans of aquanatal classes, swimming, yoga, lunches with my sister who is on maternity leave! I even got a pedicure voucher for Christmas that I was saving to use when I was further along and suffering with puffy feet! But looks like that will go unused for a long while yet!

Next Friday is my last day and I can't wait. So annual leave for 2 weeks and then my mat leave starts 18th May with my due date 6th June. Had originally intended to stay on 2 weeks later but WFH means I feel like I get no break, I'm trying to home school my step-son also and my husband is working front line so feeling a bit overwhelmed. Felt guilty too though until midwife today advised me that I should be finishing up and that I needed to listen to what my body was telling me which helped a lot. Now to tackle the cleaning, organising etc I want to do Smile

Cornishbumpkin · 23/04/2020 21:59

Usually work as a nurse so have been at home since middle of March, mat leave officially starts the 8th June with due date 15th June

Smiffette · 24/04/2020 04:50

After a run of good nights sleeps I knew it wouldn't be long until a had a bad one! Been awake since 3! ☹️

APD1981 · 24/04/2020 05:10

@smiffette I was just about to right the same thing! The night before I managed to stay in bed all night and got about 7 hours (restless) sleep. I've managed 3 hours (restless) sleep tonight. I managed to clean the house and do a longer walk etc yesterday as I'd slept so much better than normal and now I'm going to be lucky if I manage to get dressed today. I have back ache and trapped wind, too, so sat on the couch with a warm hot water bottle. Sigh.

APD1981 · 24/04/2020 05:11

Oops, tiredness has got to me.

I was just about to write * the same thing!

Smiffette · 24/04/2020 05:26

@APD1981 it sucks doesn't it! I retreated to the spare room bed so not to disturb DH. Luckily I'm working from home this last few weeks so I don't have to face the hour commute! I know come 2ish ill be flagging though! 😏 least it's Friday I suppose!

Just debating whether to get up and go watch TV as I know I won't get back to sleep at this time...

I've had a relatively easy pregnancy, but I can't wait for little one to be here so I can sleep on my back again!

@Smiffette I am so excited to sleep face down on my tummy which is my usual position but think it may be a while if I've got big painful boobs ! .. one day though Smile

APD1981 · 24/04/2020 07:25

Yes, I've just said the same to hubby. Oh the irony that I might get better quality sleep with a newborn! I might not get more sleep but if I can not wake up in agony all the time, that'd be a bonus. I'm very ready for baby to come in that respect (obvs I want to incubate it for a while longer though, really!).

Has anyone found that their sickness has come back? I'm 32 weeks tomorrow and for the past couple of days I've felt really nauseous in the mornings and evenings. I haven't been sick yet so not as bad as the first trimester but I'm feeling sicky and tired again a lot!

Gigitree · 24/04/2020 10:02

Yes @mrssunshinexxx I can’t wait to sleep on my front! Bliss!!

Yes @chocolate26 my sickness came back at around 29/30 weeks, thankfully it did go again though for the most part!

Busylizzie85 · 24/04/2020 11:11

My partner can't wait to get rid of the giant pillow so he can sleep better. 🙄
I can't wait to lay on either side, back and front and not worry about it!

chocolate26 · 24/04/2020 11:30

I also can't wait to sleep on my front again! And if I wake up on my back not to panic 😃 I love my bump and growing my baby but I am ready to not be pregnant now! I'm hoping baby comes at 38/39 weeks and not 42!!

LillianFullStop · 24/04/2020 12:22

Yes sleeping on my back again will be such a joy - a close second to my baby coming Grin

Anyone else feeling ridiculously huge now - I can't imagine 6 more weeks of this bump getting bigger!

For those having an ELCS when did you get your date booked? 36w appointment?

Happy 34 weeks to my due date buddies @Rinoa and @Busylizzie85!

Busylizzie85 · 24/04/2020 12:28

Thanks @LillianFullStop ❤️

Mj2196 · 24/04/2020 12:38

@LillianFullStop I feel hugeee! Even my stretch marks are stretched to the limit 😭 Can’t imagine 7 more weeks of growing

UKtoSK · 24/04/2020 14:15

I’m also struggling with sleep on and off. I had a couple of good nights and then past two or three I’ve been waking hourly and hips are hurting more and more.

Don’t feel toooo huge yet (despite my husband marvelling each day at how massive the bump is getting) but I’m only 30+6. Still got around 10 weeks to grow! Think baby had a growth spurt yesterday though as my belly suddenly felt really uncomfortable and stretched and then since this morning her movements look and feel so much stronger. It really is the best part of being pregnant. Makes up for all the discomfort!

AndddddHerewegoagain · 24/04/2020 15:05

I totally have lockdown fatigue today. Bored of being locked up with a hyper 3 year old and exhausted from pregnancy/ trying to sort all the baby stuff out.
3 year old has had enough as well I think. Hes bored of the garden and art and craft/ jigsaws etc

Rinoa · 24/04/2020 15:53

@LillianFullStop happy 34 weeks! Baby must know today is a milestone he's being moving so much today.

Magpiefeather · 24/04/2020 17:23

@AndddddHerewegoagain we have reached the same stage at ours. 3 year old’s behaviour has got worse as she’s so bored. I’m knackered and can’t cope with all the up and down off the floor, the house is a tip because I only get half a job at a time done before dd needs something. Hope you have a better day tomorrow. Our strategy today was to go for a really long walk early in the morning and it did work better. Solidarity, it’s tough!

LillianFullStop · 24/04/2020 17:27

@Rinoa and @Busylizzie85 it is me or 34 really feels like a milestone/turning point?

I'm there with you @Andddddherewegoagain and @Magpiefeather with a 3 year old... I really think week 4 they are bored of everything and just starting to lose it. Hope you can make the most of the warm weather this weekend as forecast is rain rain rain next week so a whole week indoors for a toddler will be challenging!!!

Busylizzie85 · 24/04/2020 17:31

@LillianFullStop it really does feel like a milestone!
I can't imagine my tummy getting any bigger feels so tight at the mo.
