@searchingtheskies yes that is bump measurement. My hospital only send you for growth scans if below 10th centile not on it, and like you I am tracking along the same line. Surprised the bump is so small though as I feel so heavy and achy. Cant imagine how others with bigger bumps are feeling.

Wow everyone is so organised! We have bought what we need I think but yet to finish nursery (waiting on scandiborn order) or pack hospital bag. Although I think we are prepared I also dont feel ready at all if that makes sense. I think we could have everything set up and I still wouldn't really feel prepared!
What kind of clothes are people getting? I'm struggling with temperatures for summer babies/how many layers etc. Is 1 newborn cardi enough do you think? We have some rompers and a summer hat at 0-3 but mainly sleepsuits and vests for newborn.

Girlinajumpsuit · 22/04/2020 11:48

Oh also if you've not tested your car seat in the car yet I would recommend doing. We tested ours and discovered we had been sold the wrong base so car seat and base didnt fit!

Ginfilledcats · 22/04/2020 13:01

I've just discovered a load of stretch marks I wasn't aware of! Boo! Ah well small price to pay (but does prove bio oil is useless!! I've been using it religiously)!

I think we'll put the isofix in the car this weekend and try the car seat a couple of times.

Does anyone occasionally struggle to stand up after sitting for a while? Like it takes me a good few steps to get going and stand fully straight...not all the time like but sometimes!

I'm getting so excited. Still got 6 and a half weeks to go though.

Little miss seems to have shifted from head down to transverse again. Minx!

Magpiefeather · 22/04/2020 13:09

@Girlinajumpsuit I think 1 newborn cardi will be fine. I had my dd in a May heatwave and I don’t think I ever put a newborn cardigan on her. We had a couple in 0-3months - one thick one and two thinner I think. These did get used and the good thing with cardis is you can just roll up the sleeves if too big!

Busylizzie85 · 22/04/2020 13:26

@Ginfilledcats 🙋🏻‍♀️ takes me ages to get up sometimes and get going, it also hurts my knees the extra weight is taking its tole!

Gigitree · 22/04/2020 13:33

@Ginfilledcats Yes, especially in the middle of the night when I’m getting up for a wee. I have to sit on the edge of the bed for a minute to get ready to stand up 😂

Smiffette · 22/04/2020 14:07

@Ginfilledcats yes! I've just been thinking that about sitting then standing! My bump feels all tight like it needs a good stretch out!!

I read a lot into stretch marks, and whilst bio oil and other products can help reduce the appearance, there is nothing that will stop you getting them. It's all to do with genetics apparently and your skin. If you're going to get them you will... exercising and eating healthy will help with not putting on too much weight and drinking lots of water always helps with skin hydration. I'm fully expecting to get them as I have them at tops of thighs from growth spurts when I was young and my mum and sister had them in pregnancy. I've still been bio oiling day and night since about 18 weeks. now 33 weeks and just know I won't make it to term without them appearing!

SearchingTheSkies · 22/04/2020 14:19

@Ginfilledcats I struggle to go from lying down to sitting up, let alone getting up. Grin I had a scan this morning and when I went to sit up on the scanning bed, I must have looked like a beached whale writhing around. Even the sonography giggled. I really must practise making that look more elegant for next time!!

@BabyBird20 Hope all goes well at your appointment.

UKtoSK · 22/04/2020 14:33

Standing up is ok, but turning over in bed, lying down and sitting up from lying down is what I struggling with. Feels like everything shifts about and has to fall back into place.

You’re all so organised! We have a chest of drawers being delivered this Friday so then I can start washing clothes and bedding etc and start organising. Going to start packing hospital bag around 32 to 34 weeks. Only 30+4 today.

Had to take my cat to the vet today as she’s been leaking urine and she had to have an ultrasound and they think she has a stone in her bladder. Poor little thing got so scared she peed all over herself while they were doing it. We’ve also decided we’re not letting the cats in our room from now on to make sure the bed and everything is as cat fur free as possible for baby (they’ve been sleeping in her cot every night since we got it) but it’s breaking my heart, I feel like she thinks I’m punishing her somehow 😭😭

mrssunshinexxx · 22/04/2020 15:03

@UKtoSK aw poor kitty they are like babies aren't they I adore my boy. He also was getting snuggled up in the cot and I kept lifting him out and feeling so mean I've now stood the noses basket in it and draped towels over it and he seems to of got the hint but I do feel mean there's a lot of change for him coming but I will still give him lots of fuss

Gigitree · 22/04/2020 17:00

@UKtoSK I feel you on the turning over in bed! Feels like such a struggle!

Aww poor kitty 😢 it’s so hard that we can’t explain what’s happening to our furry friends.
Our dog is absolutely clueless to the fact that there is about to be another little thing here demanding our attention!

umabb · 22/04/2020 18:06

Hey hope all is fine with the result x @BabyBird20

Sorry to hear about the cat! @UKtoSK

Same with me while I'm in the couch I'll need the husband to drag me out - 0 core strength ! At night I have to push myself up hard with one arm - arms stronger for sure !

Had a growth scan today and all looks fine. Little B is estimated 2kilo already. He's heading down facing my left, back to the right and butt above my belly button and feet almost kicking his own head! I was told that he will be ready in two weeks then grow till 37wks for him to get ready. Can't wait to meet him x

Zoey92 · 22/04/2020 18:30

I'm pleased it's not just me struggling to get up 😂 i cannot get comfy & i get feet in my ribs unless I'm laying on setee.

@Smiffette mine tightens alot too usually when she moves all to the front

31+3

Mj2196 · 22/04/2020 18:43

@Mj2196 matalan have some fab stuff in, aswell as peacocks/george & H&M

BabyBird20 · 22/04/2020 19:05

Thanks all for the good wishes, on here ladies!! It was a very stressful wait but we're very happy with the results of the MRI, not completely out of the woods but the brain all looked normal and this enlarged bit they were worried about hasn't got any bigger which is what we were hoping for!! Basically they say there is still a low risk of some mild genetic condition, possibly autism but with the scans and growth as it is this is less than a 5% chance now!! I'll take that!! Had a really detailed scan and got to see his little face, all his limbs etc and he's just so perfect, will love him no matter what happens with these risks!! ❤️❤️❤️

On the other hand his head is still enormous, 4 weeks ahead and off the end of the growth chart 😣😣 so they've given me info on both early induction and c section so I can go to my next consultant and growth scan at 36 weeks more informed to make a choice!! 😬😬

Blimey, they like to start worrying you early don't they these babies!! Xx

BabyBird20 · 22/04/2020 19:09

@Mj2196 thanks for the heads up, I've been waiting for a Morrison's order too and not heard anything! Just logged in and they've cancelled mine too 😢😢

Pegase · 22/04/2020 19:13

Can empathise with so much of this. Sleep is rubbish, my whole pelvis locks up when I get up from sitting and have to let it 'settle' for a second before I get moving. Feel about as elegant as an elephant right now.

Is a good job am working from home as I also need the loo every five minutes - just because of the amount of weight/pressure down low!

@LillianFullStop I exclusively pumped last time. I don't recommend it but it can be done! KellyMom website is the absolute fount of all knowledge on this. You need to pump in the middle of the night though to maintain supply so it's hardcore. Confused

Gigitree · 22/04/2020 19:19

Oh @BabyBird20 that is such fantastic news I’m so pleased for you! What a relief! ❤️

Mj2196 · 22/04/2020 19:47

@Zoey92 thanks love I’ve just managed to order a few unisex bits from H&M🙌🏻

@BabyBird20 I’m so glad to hear things went well! And I’m gutted . Thought I’d got everything I need & they’ve just Cancelled without a word!

umabb · 22/04/2020 20:06

Very please for you @BabyBird20 xx 😃

APD1981 · 22/04/2020 20:56

@Babybird20 I've been checking the thread all day for an update! So pleased for you. So lovely you got to see his face and everything again x

I haven't seen my baby since my 20 week scan and feel like the only person on here not getting extra scans. Not fair!

MissisBee · 22/04/2020 21:07

Glad you've had good news @BabyBird20

I keep sitting on the floor to to play with DS, then getting stranded as I can't get up again. Have to crawl about till I can get to some furniture to haul myself up with 😂

Blizy · 22/04/2020 21:12

@BabyBird20 I'm so relived for you. I hope you manage to relax a little now. X
