At last ..... woo hoo. So pleased for you.

MamaMaiasaura · 13/09/2007 11:07

Becky - CONGRATULATIONS must be a huge relief!

Ladylush - really really good to hear from you. Glad that they are investigating it all properly for you. Have been watching the ttc thread to see how you are, hope you dont mind. Beanie (although decided in my sleep last night to call him Pudding aka xmas pudding!) is fine. They are keeping an eye on me & extra scan as expect him to be big and also due to prev complications. I really hope they give you some answers, good advice and practical help. x

MOtherofz - chocolate is a vegetable (cocoa beans & sugar cane ) I am being naughty and having cup of tea and thorntons fudge bar.. very tempted to snaffle my marzipan one too. Loving homous and garte carrot sarnies atm!

Went shopping for maternity jeans again no where sells over the bump ones and am getting really fed up with pulling mine up. Bought ds1 a couple of astrosaur books and PS2 game transformers for his brave boy pressie's after op. He doesnt play much on the PS2 but i figure that when recuperating it might be something he enjoys.

Ds also felt Pudding kick him this morning Higher up now so guess it must be getting cramped in there. Is that right for 24+3.

Stood next to a mum at school yesterday who had a lovely bump and similar size. I asked when due expecting a similar time.. she said in 5 days also having a boy. I now feel HUUUUUGGE!

mixedmama · 13/09/2007 11:17

So funny about the mum next to you. I said to hubby this morning dont you think I am just huge and ready to give birth. People always seem surprised when I say December

MamaMaiasaura · 13/09/2007 11:21

we do seem to be sharing similar symptons mixedmama Smiled last night reading your posts and told dp about you. Is nice as i dont feel alone with it. Actually I think this whole darn mumsnet antenatal thread is wonderful. Very of meet up. Hope you all have a fab time.

MotherofZ · 13/09/2007 11:24

Awen - love your definition of chocolate - right must have more!!

Ohhh hummous and grated carrot sandwiches sound lovely....

Have you tried Dorothy Perkins for over the bump maternity jeans? Checked on-line and they seem have a nice selection.

Lol at the mum next to you. I'm getting paronid as a few people at work have said I look small for 24 wks - going to talk to m/w about this next week.

MM - Hello and happy ramadhan (even though we're not participating!)

OP posts:
mixedmama · 13/09/2007 11:33

Hppy ramazan to you too MotherofZ. My hubby is being rubbish and not fasting, which is fine as we are both abit rubbish, but he takes it one step further and lies to everyone else (like his mum and dad) and I am like lying in Ramazan not a good start.

MamaMaiasaura · 13/09/2007 11:36

THink I will shop online with Dorothy Perkins as went to Southamptn and Eastleigh and they only had under the bump ones in

It is funny how people can get you paranoid about the bump. I have no muscle tone really left there so bulging out I will try and get a picture later of my bump. Belly button not an outie yet

MotherofZ · 13/09/2007 11:39

MM- is it because he can't be bothered to wake up? it's harder this time around isn't it?

I must say the D P jeans are great - lasted me the last pregnancy and this one too. Bought a pair of under the bump jeans from New Look for only £12!!!

OP posts:
sabinar · 13/09/2007 11:54

i knew it - it's a boy!

now, I just have to gradually let DH think that the name I want is his idea and we'll be all set.

more importantly, just back from my scan and all is well... thank goodness.

I felt like I was going to pass out half way through it through - I'm not very good with things medical and the detail they go into just makes me go all swoony. I had to roll onto my side for a while and get some cold water on my face, then all good.

ok. Now I just feel afraid for my credit card now that I know absolutely for sure who I'm buying for.

ps. please tell me I'm not the only immature one who giggles about having a penis for the first time ever, if only on the inside ;)

MamaMaiasaura · 13/09/2007 11:58

Congratulations Sabinar another blue one!!! You arent the only silly one here. I also giggle as I have 2 bottoms atm! Am also half way to beinga cow as have 2 tummys!

MotherofZ · 13/09/2007 12:06

congratulations sabinar.
Right off to Costa in a bit to meet a friend - must stay well away from the cakes

OP posts:
mixedmama · 13/09/2007 12:14

Partly, normally he only fasts when i do as i make sure i get up and then when i get my period he stops and generally that is when we both stop cos we are so rubbish... have never ever suceeded in starting again after my period. Next year hoping to be in turkey for ramazan so hoping the atmosphere will help.

MrsBiscuit · 13/09/2007 12:14

Awen - you've probably already looked in H&M in S'hampton, but I'm sure they do over the bump jeans.
I got a pair from Blooming Marvellous, but the button in the side digs in quite a bit so I'm not sure I'd recommend them. There's a branch in Winchester if you want to try them though.

beller · 13/09/2007 12:14

Ladylush - Hi!!!! Good to "see" you, Hope you are well. Im really pleased that you are being seen and hope you get some answers hun...massive hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Beckyau - Yayyyy for you Good luck witht he packing, but dont over do it! make sure you rst and have some brownies x

Awen - blooming marvelous and H+M do them too? Mayeb try them? Blooming marvelous do come up quite big though.

Motherofz - Happy ramadam!!xxx

Sabinar - Yayyyyyy for you scan!! And congratulations on your boy...statistically that must mean a few of us "suprises" must be due girls?

beller · 13/09/2007 12:53

Oh...and does anyones baby have a certain "area" kicking pattern?? Babybel either kicks really low or to the right of my tummy? have hardly felt any kicks to the left? Just wondering really?

barristermum · 13/09/2007 13:04

Hi guys,
Am so so pleased for beckyau - you are going to be one tired puppy by the end of tomorrow with all the emotional strain and then all that effort. Don't do too much will you?
Mixedmamma - that birth plan really opened my eyes - like you say, didn't think the tone of it was designed to help you build the most constructive working relationship with your medical team and I laughed out loud at the bit where if you are overdue you can tick a box about trying sex under the guidance and supervision of your doctor to bring you on!!!
Happy Ramadan to you and mother of Z - I saw countdown chocolate calendars to Ramadan in Tesco last weekend - seemed to me a cruel contrast to our Christian advent calendars but there you go!
Hey ladylush - good to hear from you. Glad things are upbeat.
All this talk about bras makes me feel very left out - I haven't changed at all, save vast tummy which as dh kindly said last night is now huge! Beller - I seem to get lots of kicks lower down and not much elsewhere.
Am feeling friday-ish - taking tomorrow off to travel to wedding in Scotland - no application to work at all!

sabinar · 13/09/2007 13:05

beller - no discernable pattern here... this one is all over the shop.

Everyone was very impressed that he was in such a good position and so quiet for his scan this morning... little do they know that he's usually going off like a frog in a sock. I reckon I saw leg muscles already ;)

Naetha · 13/09/2007 13:10

Wow - note to self - don't go away for a week and then try and catch up with this thread!!

Holiday was lovely - weather was great, although Jersey was a bit odd to say the least - average age seemed to be 83! The hotel was set in lovely grounds, however the walls were paper thin so we were kept awake all night by snoring and coughing! I got the ultimate compliment as well - "you can't tell you're pregnant from behind" which absolutely made my week! Unfortunately, I did spend the whole week eating nice food and ice-cream (Jersey ice-cream is yum!) - I weighed myself when I got back to find I'd gained 4lbs in a week!! Thankfully one of those naughty pounds has already been lost since, but I was a bit scared to say the least - no more ice cream for me for a while!

I've definitely come back with a bump though - my first day back at work and my boss is being an absolute dick. I sent one personal email at 8:45 (my boss didn't even turn up until 9:20) and then send another at 12:40 when I was about to go on my lunch, and he sent me an email having a go at me for sending personal emails during work hours!!!!! I often work through my lunches, and was planning on working through most of today's but screw him, I'm going to spend my full hour with my feet up, and two fingers up at my boss.

He then has swanned off for a lunchtime drink at the pub

mixedmama · 13/09/2007 13:18

Asshole bosses. (sorry didnt mean to swear but he deserves it).

barristermum · 13/09/2007 13:31

Hi Naetha, welcome back - missed you. Don't bosses really know how to get the best out of their workforce!
Sabinar - love the expression frog in a sock - going to use it regularly from now on!

beller · 13/09/2007 13:44

Welcome back Naetha!! Glad you had a good time. Your boss sounds an absolute dick! Talk about strict...do they track all mails?

Enjoy the wedding barristermum! Love technical fridays xx

Sabinar - loved the description of frog in a sock
x

MotherofZ · 13/09/2007 13:59

Thank beller and barristermum for your warm wishes!

Beller - Likewise, LO only kicks in my pelvis region and on the right hand side.

Naetha - yoour boss sound like a right lazy sod - nothing to do other than monitor people's e-mails and long lunches????

Have a nice time in Scotland barristermum

Managed to stay away from all the cakes in Costa!!!
