Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
mixedmama · 28/09/2007 13:56

If I was going for an interview i would try to be discreet, altho at this stage that would be difficult and if asked i would be very open. I think a lot of employers will go against you, but as others have said if you do a realaly great interview no reason why it couldnt at the very least be a networking exercise.

MamaMaiasaura · 28/09/2007 13:56

I would be discreet with it. I know they arent meant to discriminate but they might without meaning to iykwim. First impressions.

Cazzybaby · 28/09/2007 14:12

MotherofZ - congrats on the interview!! Fingers crossed for you if you do decide to go.

Awen - saw the Russian baby on the news 17lbs!!! Oh my god she was huge think thats where my crazy dreams about massive babies have been coming from!

mixedmama · 28/09/2007 14:19

Couldnt believe the picture with the "average" sizedd baby next to it... amazing. I am sure my DS is only 24 pounds now.

Cazzybaby · 28/09/2007 14:49

Imagine having to carry a baby that size in your belly! Must have been very very uncomfortable!

mixedmama · 28/09/2007 14:50

It just doesnt bare thinking about at all.

MotherofZ · 28/09/2007 15:16

Cheers guys, you all are much more postive than I am.
Anyone got any interesting plans for the weekend?

MoZ what has Dh said about it? I remember he was supportive about applying.

MotherofZ · 28/09/2007 15:34

I haven't had a chance to speak to him properly about it yet. Yesterday was feeling so rubbish with my dodgy stomach spent most of the evening moping around.

I love You Tube tho.... can watch clips of old Turkish films and stuff plus I havent got Turkish TV at home yet (fingers crossed) and can watch the latest music releases and Tv show clips... never get bored.

MotherofZ · 28/09/2007 15:49

does your hubby speak turkish?

OP posts:
mixedmama · 28/09/2007 15:59

No he doesnt. He keeps assking me to translate when i speak to DS so maybe there is hope. Problem is that all my family over here speak english so he doesnt get thata much exposure... did get a film from my dads the other day that has subtitles so might attemot that.

mixedmama · 28/09/2007 16:00

Feels like LO is doing a mexican wave in my belly.

mixedmama · 28/09/2007 16:01

My typing is atrocious - can you believe that my actual vocation when not working on a bloody sswitchboard is PA - I wouldnt employ me if I saw my typing like this.

barristermum · 28/09/2007 16:59

Hi girls,
Cazzybaby - so sorry - what a horrid thing to happen. Glad you are ok now.
Motherofz am glad you are feeling bit more like yourself now - am totally with the others on going along to the interview - if they want you enough who knows what compensations they might offer for the other job, and at the very least it is good experience.
Awen - so glad ds ok and you both got thru it ok. As others have said - go easy on the cleaning - if ds is bedbound it can't be that messy anyway and you need to look after yourself.
Gingeme I have a mammoth day like yours on 18th Oct - gtt at 10am, growth scan due to gest diabetes concerns at 11.40 and drop in for an ECG to investigate possible irregular heartbeat. Will have had enough by the end of it am sure!
How long is Mrs McJnr away for - hope her tests were ok.
We are going to Bridport to stay with friends for the weekend and test-driving a Golf Estate on the way - so sensible! But mustn't forget to record the return of strictly come dancing - sad I know but I LOVE it! Dumdedumdumdum dumdumduuum, dumdedumdumdum!

mixedmama · 28/09/2007 17:36

Ohhhh does it start this Saturday????

gingeme · 28/09/2007 19:59

Thankyou Awen and thankyou for your kind wishes re ds3 ladies.
Hes got to be on the ward for 7.30 and he is first on the list GULP!!
Well if I dont get on the pc over the weekend I wish you all apeaceful and restful one. Take care all xxx

MamaMaiasaura · 28/09/2007 22:00

gingeme - 1st on the list is a good thing means he will be over and done super quick and no stress in waiting xx

susiemj · 29/09/2007 11:34

Morning everyone!

I have woken up with stretch marks on my boobs this morning! Anyone else got any?

Awen - hope you're feeling better this morning - and DS.

Gingme - hope everything goes smoothly this morning.

LilyLoo · 29/09/2007 11:56

morning all not had chances to catch up yet. I have been really busy at work so will have missed loads on here but needed some advice. Anyone know if zovirax is ok to take when pg ?
I have a massive and v painful coldsore, i can't believe it never had one in my life! Think i have been doing too much at work , did 12 hours on Thurs with open evening So looks like i am now paying price. The leaflet says check with doctor but obv i can't until Mon ?

MamaMaiasaura · 29/09/2007 14:02

lilyloo - no idea but suggest calling NHS direct for advice. THey are very good like that.

Susie - no new stretch marks here so far (lucky all mine from ds faded).

No more dodgy discharge here. Am taking it mostly easy (sneaked some ironing and hoovering in). Had mum on the phone twice already checking I am ok. Belss her. I feel a little embarrassed as sure it will all be ok. Just overdid it a bit i think. Also had one of my sisters calling (mum called her) to check in on me and to say any problems to call her. Is nice to be so cared about. Do feel; a bit silly tho. DP called from Japan this morning. Was lovely to hear from him again. I miss him so much but i think him working away sometimes makes me appreciate him more iykwim.

Woken at 3am this morning as ds ears and throat were really painful. His dad has come over to see him and they are painting airfix plane. Nice for them to see eachother. I have the rugby on and feet up (mums orders). Phoar at some of those men. Wallabies fly half is lovely looking.

MamaMaiasaura · 29/09/2007 14:03

Gingeme - guess you ds is all out of theatre now. Hope everything went well and that he gets better soon. x
