Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ayrshirelolo · 27/09/2007 22:30

Hi ladies!
wow! just take nme over an hour to skim read everything since Monday....and it's only Thursday night! Bloody hell! What are we all like? what have i missed? more names, strep B, tampons, mat leave dates, windsocks baby experts (wasn't that woman INSANE???), PND, the definative curry recipe.... good grief, i'm not even gonna try to catch all that up!
Welcome to all those who i don't yet know, (wee wave from the frozen north!!) we are a friendly lot!
Awen, glad ds is on the mend, and don't feel bad about playstation / tv stuff! I remember recovering from appendix op aged 12 and being allowed to play with Atari games thingy (wow... that dates me!!) as a big treat and it was FANTASTIC and made me feel all special! (I wasn't usually allowed to play stuff like that in bed..)
Anyway, i'm knackered and going to bed, just wanted to say hi and solicit general envy, we've just booked a cheapy on the net and are off to Majorca a week today for 10 days (not too long on a plane for dd, as she still goes free but doesn't get a seat yet!)
Hope everyone ok, not that many more Monday mornings! lolo xx

Gingeme - all the best with your DS operation.

OP posts:
beller · 28/09/2007 08:47

motherofz- my kicks are very strong now....feel really weird when s/he kicks "inside" and not against outside if you know what i mean ?
Still love them...only going to get stronger! x

MotherofZ · 28/09/2007 08:50

OP posts:
MamaMaiasaura · 28/09/2007 10:58

gingeme - hope everything goes well tomorrow. Sure ds will be fine xx

Beller - your weekends always sound so exciting have a lovely time.

I have ex-p coming over tomorrow to see ds. Will be nice for ds. THey are going ot watch movie together and do some airfix. Means i got to think about making house presentable. Am trying to rest as much as I can as had a bit of a scare this morning (funny discharge), tightenings and also freaky birth dream.

Ds has earache today but does seem brighter He managed a small glass of Yop and a weetabix with milk (as a few chocc buttons!) I havent started the penicllin yet as his temp was ok this morning. IF it goes up today will start them anit-b (am tempted to start them just to make sure but not sure if i should)

Watching Mary Poppins atm, stretched out on sofa with ds & fleecy blankets.

Baby was doing alien impressions in bed this morning and ds had fiun poking him as baby kept kicking him back. Went on for ages actually

beller · 28/09/2007 11:25

Awen - Bless lo and ds! Read your other Post, sod the house and rst hun! thats an order. not good having a scare when your on your own either, I remeber when i had a scare earlier on. Thinking of you hun xx

mixedmama · 28/09/2007 11:35

Morning ladies,

Awen - glad to hear Ds seems to be feeling a little better.

Gingeme - good luck with DS op tomorrow. Shame about the meet up, but you still may be able to make it and the date may well still change.

Re: Curry, Dh always says the tumeric is more for ccolour anyway and toomuch of it and it has an overpowering taste.

I also am havign the diabetes test, but apparently only a finger prick test this time instead of the horrible lucozade one.

Not much up for this weekend, am doing some shopping with my mum tomorrow just some more bits for the bag, and lots of form filling,.... taxx credits that I have to date not bothered to apply for, maternity allowance forms... horrible.

Sunday just chilling really, but there is a new soft play thingy opened up near us so will be taking DS there.

susiemj · 28/09/2007 11:36

Morning all!
Lucky you Beller - I'm a gooner too.. Very envious as don't even have Sky.

Awen - I hope you're feeling ok. I read your other poet. I'm really sorry you're on your own at this point. If the midwife is being reassuring, try and trust her. I had a bit of a scare last week because the baby wasn't moving and the midwife came round straight away (everythig fine). So if she doesn't want to some, it should be a good sign.

I know what it's like to be on your own when you're worried, and it's horrible. Thinking of you. Rest!

Yes I agree with the others. Flutterings are definitely turning into KICKS now. And last night I'm sure LO's head was trying to nestle up to my lungs. Could not breathe properly or get comfy. Thisis the only time in life when that could possibly be exciting!

MotherofZ · 28/09/2007 11:40

MM - this a bit late for you

Cazzybaby · 28/09/2007 11:41

Morning All!! (well just about still morning)

Havent been on for a few days, my UTI turned into a Kidney infection, also had some bleeding so ended up at the hospital, must say the midwife?s where brilliant and felt really looked after. I am all dosed up with anti biotics now and on the mend. Had anyone else had growth scan at 28 weeks or have one booked? My LO is a bit on small side so I have been booked in for one, guess it?s a good thing as will get to see her one last time before the birth!

Hope everyone is well, have tried to catch up with thread!

Awen ? hope your ok after your scare this morning, I have been having crazy horrible dreams about the birth, and also having a MASSIVE baby he he. Glad DS is feeling a bit better after his op.

MotherofZ ? I am feeling the strong kicks now its really strange sensation, amazing really!

Hi to Everyone else xxx

mixedmama · 28/09/2007 11:42

Started at 1030 today MoZ, plus train delays, plus had to ctahc up first.

MotherofZ · 28/09/2007 11:43

Cazzy - how awful - hope you are feeling a little better, you poor thing

Awen - saw your posting on the pregnancy thread and posted a reply.

forget the house cleaning - you have other priorities!!

OP posts:
mixedmama · 28/09/2007 11:45

God - cazzy how awful. hope it wasnt to horrendous and glad you are back.

Awen - sorry about your scare, it is awful isnt it when you think something might be wrong. glad they have managed to put your mind at rest a little.

It is strange that first time around i didnt worry about anythign at all and this time i am so jittery, calling up for the littlest ache or pain and even going in to get checked out for braxton hicks....

mum2sons · 28/09/2007 11:54

Feeling kicks quite strongly now too
Hope everyone is ok. Sorry to hear about your horrible UTI/bleeding experience Cazzy. Hope you are feeling better now and glad you had such nice midwives xxx

Cazzybaby · 28/09/2007 12:15

Thanks for the support i am feeling much better today

Only thing getting me down is the weather it hasnt stopped raining all morning!!

gingeme · 28/09/2007 12:22

Awen I hope youve got your feet up. Lots of cuddles with ds on the sofa today and lots of kids dvd's are in order.
Cazzy glad your on the mend. Kidney infections can make you realy poorly cant they?
Ive got a 28 week scan but because baby is a bit big not small
Ill try my hardest to come to the meet up mixedmamma. Would love to meet up with you all again.
Well off to Morrisons soon to get a few bits in. Then I guess Ill be packing ds3's case ready for tommorrow.
Have a good afternoon al xx

MotherofZ · 28/09/2007 13:16

Just to let all those lovely people who gave me advice and asked, a while ago I applied for another job which was the next step up for me in this wonderful field of data analysis - I've got an interview!!

But thinking I might not go for it, as I don't want to want to lose my maternity package here....??

OP posts:
beller · 28/09/2007 13:17

cazzybaby loads of get well wishes! Glad they looked after you x

beller · 28/09/2007 13:24

well done for getting an interview Motherofz....tricky..but would be a shame to lose pay?

MamaMaiasaura · 28/09/2007 13:40

Cazzy - sorry to hear about your uti going ot kidineyts too poor you. Glad you are feeling better, the midwifes sounded lovely too.

MOtherofZ - Fantastic news about interviewv wouldnt do you any harm to go to the interview. Even if you are offered job you dont have to take it, but another dorr opened and all that.

Susie - thanks for message These little ones are really getting stronger arent they. Really lovely to feel them tho.

MIxedmamma - I havent even got a bag yet to put stuff in! Have got breast pads tho as were on special offer.

Gingeme - re packing ds3's things, I dont know if he has a games console but I wish I had taken mine in for ds to play on. Fav teddy is a must, also I should have bought pillows. Fleece blanket was invaluable. Your dp is unlikely to get fed (I managed to cos of bump, although the food was awful anyway). Op was really really quick so not much hanging around when they are in.

LOts of us have extra scans, I am viewing it too as another chance to see him before he arrives. Mine are 30 & 34 week scans.. same as gingme, they think I am likely to have another large one (tho hopefully not like that russian woman .

Have held off housework but am going to scoot hoover around (the kitchen floor is very messy). Later on I will put ironing board at sitting level and have a go at some of it but will not over do it.

I am tryting to remember my pelvic floor now as sneezing is getting dangerous!

Remembers... CLENCH ladies

p.s. heard from dp - he is fine and missing us lots. Working very hard tho! ...

also argos are delivering nursery furniture on Wednesday very excited about that!

mixedmama · 28/09/2007 13:54

Awen - i am putting all my bits in my Louis Vuitton weekend bag that Dh bought for my birthday - cant imagine gettign another chance to use such a bag.

Glad you are feeling a little better. Do the hoovering and ironing tomorrow - no rush.

MotherofZ · 28/09/2007 13:54

If i was to go to the interview should I be bold and proud of my bump or discreet?? I know it's illegal, but it doesn't stop employers from thinking against you, after all they are looking out for thier own interest.
Oh so confused!!!
