RE: SPD Sideways.

Can I advise you to look up SPD on the thread I started called 'SPD What to expect?'. There was great advice given there.

At first, I looked it up on the internet and freaked. It's not really scary though

everyone always seems to be 'lucky man!!!' to my DP about the humongous bosom thing, sadly he just finds my new shape amusing rather than alluring!!! Feel like a weeble on sticks

mother of z have decided to make chicken curry as working at home may need to improvise a bit as no tumeric and not sure if 1tsp of coriander and cumin but heh how bad can it go ??????

good luck nicky6 - honestly until the sonographer actually physically pointed out penis and scrotum I would not have known.

Nicky 6 - when I had my scan I thought I had accidentally spotted it was a boy. I wanted to know so the sonographer showed me. It was a girl. I had seen the cord!

Afternoon ladies.
Awen just read about your ds with dread. My ds going in for 7.30 Saturday morning. Op should be about 9.30. Bought him some Bob slippers for when hes walking around the ward but judging by what youve posted it doesnt seem hell be doing much of thatHow is your ds this afternoon?
Yes I had a growth scan this afternoon. Babys bit big but the sonographer was a bit worried about the amount of amniotic fluid. Too much. She asked if I ever had gestational diabetes. I said no but told her Im being tested for it on the 23rd Oct when I will be 28 weeks. Im also having an anti natal check up that day so shes booked me for another scan. Wow what a day out that will be
While I was at the hospital I saw some proud parents bringing there brand new ickle baby out to take home. Aw I gave them a big smile
Not sure about the meet up just yet as not only will I have my fun day out on the 23rd but its my ds4's 1st birthday on the 24th plus dh having his snip on the 31st so hell have to do some juggling with his rest days and holidays. Ill let you know. Im a real wuss when it comes to curry though. IM afraid I dont do anything spicy so I usualy opt for the Korma

Just wanted to say that I am due on January 15th, though I haven't been on any list!

Had to talk to obstetrics today about my birth in hospital. Apparently I may have to stay in for three days because of a medical condition. dh can stay as well though. Had a uterine artery scan yesterday as well. All was fine.

Nicky6 - shouldn't be too much prob too miss tumeric out. You might want to put more garam masala if you want an extra kick! I actualy put double/treble amount indicated on the recipe!

Ooh btw I'm another curly haired person, although my hair is really frizzy as well as curly, and because I have dermatitis on my scalp, the hair is really fragile and brittle

It drives me mad!! I can straighten it, but it takes me about 2-3 hours so I only do it for special occasions! Thankfully, I've just got to the point where I can tie my hair back, so although DH says I look a bit like a frizzy-haired dominatrix () its a lot easier than coping with the wildness that is my hair!!

I'm sure there's a little hair demon that lives in my bedroom as well, when I go to bed my hair can be lovely and manageable, and then by the time I've woken up, the hair demon has messed it all up again

gingeme - try not to worry too much about op. I think ds is just unlucky as dr been out this afternoon and prescribed penicillin as they think he has infection. See how he goes tomorrow. About 3 hours after op ds seemed pretty upbeat although i think that was partly down to excellant pain management too. How he is now is similar to when he had bad tonsillitis. Actually managed to get him to have a whole cup of fluid. Warm sweet milk. His ears have started hurting now, referred pain tho from op and is likely to get worse tomorrow and then get better. I am trying to view it that it will hurt for 7-10 days but it means in the future he wont get recurring tonsillitis. I am really glad he didnt have sedation before GA and that he closed his eyes to go to sleep when they gave him medicine. The night in hosp is tough tho, as lots of noise and very early waking. Also you dont actually sleep as you are keeping ear out for child. He is better today in himself than yesterday and is very cuddly. Also although 7.30 is very early they do see them quickly. Also lovely playroom in most pead wards and the nurses were lovely. He got to drive a jeep to theatre! Your ds will love his slippers I am glad I got ps2 game as although i usually dont let ds play much on ps2 it has been invaluable today! I am pretty sure that ds will pick up soon. Didnt realise that they had to be kept inside for whole of 2 weeks as they are at risk from any infections. Ds is fast asleep now in my bed with sore ears. Been using a soft towel over pillow and also a little face cloth as lots of dribbling.

Re your scan, I too am having glucose tolerance test (mine is on 10th October). The mw thinks i have excess fluid and the team think will be having another big baby. I had gest diabetes with ds1 and everything was fine. Blood sugar after birth was a bit dodgy for ds1 at first when he was born but son levelled out. He was 8lb 12 at 38 weeks.

Awen you are lovely to put my mind at rest and thankyou. My dh will be spending the night with him Saturday night.My parents ate coming down Saturday too to see him. Can you actualy refuse the pre med then? I am always sick if I have that before an op and so is my Mum. We have been told to take in some of his favourite crisps too. Thing is his fave crisps are Quavers which are fairly soft and melty
I had the glucose test with my last 2 ds's as my Mum is diabetic. I hate Lukozade normaly let alone 28 weeks preg and on an empty stomach.I think Ill just put baby down as a big one again. ds4 was 8lb 13. Good job its my last one eh

curry recipe very easy very quick and very nice - my idea of cooking - even without tumeric. Dh most impressed.

My friend justhad little boy v cute called jasper he is 11lb 20z - that sounds like ouch to me. Am hoping they tell me tomorrow tht the baby is a little on the small side - i can fatten the lo up later as far as I am concerned.

quavers should be fine. the info leaflet from ours said to avoid sharp foods like crisps and nuts. Quavers arent very sharp tho so i reckon they will do nicely. off to bed now. nite all xx
