MamaMaiasaura · 27/09/2007 13:27

sorry you are poorly MOtherofz hope you feel better soon.

Just popping on as ds not allowing me out of sight or attention for too long. He is still got a slight temperature and his breath is really stinky. The hospital think he will need anti-biotics. I have to call the drs as soon as they are open at 2pm. Will need to ask for home visit as ds not allowed out of house (except back garden) for 2 weeks to avoid bugs, so dont think drs waiting room best place for him really.

over antoher london meet up

Barristermum - sorry couldnt meet in very near future but perhaps in a few weeks when ds all better and back to school (although best to avoid half term )

Pudding has woken up lots since we have been home, he has been kciking his big brother whenever the opportunity arises.

Been awake since around 4am tho dozed in bed with ds til 6am. Feel like a shocking mum as loads of tv and playstation. Usually I am very good and limit viewing etc but there really isnt much else ds is upto. NOt up to boards games, craft etc so will save those till he is a bit brighter.

MIL (well, dp's mum) is knitting lots of cardigans (already have loads from ds1 but not saying as she is soo excited). She hasnt really interferred thankfully. My mum has been really supportive. When she was invited to 20 week scan she checked that she wasnt interferring and the dp was all ok with this too . I think I am very very lucky.

Didnt even realise MrsMCJNr was off to spain, feel very at not keeping up with thread. Hope she has a lovely time. HOw long has she gone for?

MrsMcJnr · 27/09/2007 13:29

Afternoon ladies growth scan went well this morning, the baby is quite big for dates and they seemed pleased. It was kicking about, yawning, drinking etc, looked really human, it was fantastic I?ll post new pics as soon as I have time. I think the baby?s profile is just like my DH?s. This was where the fun ended though, went to see my Consultant who took one look at me and asked if we?d been away, when I said we hadn?t and that I thought being brown was a nice side effect she got quite worried and looked at my scars to see the pigment. Apparently this coupled with my sudden high blood pressure could mean that I have Addison?s disease which I understand means that your adrenal glands don?t produce enough cortisol. So, they took a whole load of blood and because it wasn?t long after my daily heparin jab, the blood wouldn?t stop flowing which was a bit messy. Then I had to have a very sore cortisol jab in my bum DH found that very funny. Then we had to wait 30 mins to see what happened before more blood tests. I felt so weird like I?d had a few cans of Red Bull and Beanie was kicking like mad! We go to Spain at 5am so they are rushing the results through this afternoon but chances are if I need medication, I?ll need to get it in Spain. What a palaver! Anyway, I shall try and catch up before I sign off for a week but I do have loads of work to do so I hope you all keep well and whilst I will try and log on during the week, I might not be able to.

Gingeme - how the scan went well. Awen - hope DS (and you) are fine xx

MamaMaiasaura · 27/09/2007 13:45

MrsMcJnr - glad your scan went well. Didnt realsie you were have a growth scan How far along are you now. Glad beanie doing well. about the blood tests for you and jab in bum (they really hurt! - had one to stop sickness the other week). Really hope results all come back ok for you. Are you in Spain for long? Cant wait to see your scan pics. Fingers cross blood test come back ok. xxx

Gingeme - didnt realise you had scan today either. Hope everything ok for you. Any news on your sons hospital dates yet?

pritchard · 27/09/2007 14:05

Hi,

Im due 3rd January with a little girlie. So excited and cannot wait until she is here, not long to go now.
Cant believe im 6 and a half months today, does anyone else think the time is flying by?

Katherine

beller · 27/09/2007 14:07

Fingers crossed your bloods come back ok Mrsmcjnr! Have fun in Spain xxxxxxx

mixedmama · 27/09/2007 14:08

hey ladies,

Awen - dont worry about playstation and TV, he deserves it, and anyway as long as it isnt what he does all the time, it doesnt matter that much.

MrsMcJnr - enjoy Spain, who will do all our updates whilst you are gone??? Sorry to hear about all those tests, what will it mean if they come back positive?

Has MotherofZ gone home?

beller · 27/09/2007 14:18

welcome susiemj and pritchard

Pritchard you have just made me realise im over 6 months pregnant now...I know that sounds silly but have ben stuck at 5.5 in my head for some reason! hahaha Im due 28th dec! x

chunkypudding · 27/09/2007 14:21

Katherine - I'm due on the 3rd too! Looks like you and Susiemj are both newbies to this thread, I've only been around for a couple of days and seems like most of these ladies have known each other for ages so it's really hard to catch up!

Everyone is very friendly though, I've been desperate to have contact with people who can handle you going on about preganancy and babies cos they're going through the same stuff! (this is my first, quite scary isn't it??)

Naetha · 27/09/2007 14:23

Welcome SusieMJ and Pritchard

Congrats on even more scans, mine was 8 weeks ago and I want another one!!

Sorry you're having all that palaver with the blood tests MrsMac - not what you want before you go on your hols!

Glad DS's op was a success Awen, even if he's a bit down and grumpy - I know I would be in his situation!! Hopefully you can nip any infection in the bud.

I'm very about another meet-up!!

How many people would be interested in attending a meetup in Leeds or Manchester in the next couple of weeks? Leeds is preferable as its only a 15 minute train ride for me, and there's a few lovely curry houses there. I'm salivating at the very thought of it! I know there's a few northern lasses here, but I think we're all a bit spread out!

Argh will have to cut short - boss set up in meeting room behind me!!

chunkypudding · 27/09/2007 14:28

Has anyone had the horror (which I experienced last night) of going for a bath, leaning forward a bit and feeling boobs rest on belly??? So weird. and just not right

susiemj · 27/09/2007 14:31

Hello everyone. I'll try and catch up with who is who . I'm glad there are some newbies too. I'm expecting a girl on Jan 11th. I call her 'bella' as her nickname. I'm 25 weeks tomorrow.

It is going quickly. BUT a friend with a 6 month old girl came round yesterday (much excitement - this is my first too chunkypudding). I said I felt enormous already but she just looked at me with the cool eye of experience and said 'no, you look about right' - I guess there's a way to go yet!

mixedmama · 27/09/2007 14:33

Chunky - i bought mat bras at the weekend so my breasts (which are not tiny) now seem to permanantly rest on my belly.

susiemj · 27/09/2007 14:33

You made me laugh chunkypudding. Haven't had that pleasure yet, though trying to find a maternity bra is driving me nuts. Nothing seems comfortable and I seem to go up a size every week (slight exageration). I'm housebound at the moment so i have to order everything on the internet. DH is getting a it touchy about return postal fees...

chunkypudding · 27/09/2007 14:34

makes me feel like a sumo wrestler. They weren't too tiny before but certainly not massive, now the norkage just seems ever-expanding...

mixedmama · 27/09/2007 14:35

susie - i am am 27 weeks and feel enormous... and this is my second. I think it is just one of those things you feel in pregnancy.

chunkypudding · 27/09/2007 14:35

I'm in size-huge sports bras, only things I feel comfy in

chunkypudding · 27/09/2007 14:39

how come you're housebound susiemj? you ok?

beller · 27/09/2007 14:41

Mine sit on tummy too now..only when i lean forward...but hey ho! quite like the boobs

susiemj · 27/09/2007 14:46

DH quite likes big boobs too!

Thanks for asking, chunky. I've had hyperemesis (if you've heard of it) and now have SPD (which I think should be called 'kicked in the crotch syndrome' which is what it feels like at the moment.) I have to wear a very attractive white elastic girdle!

susiemj · 27/09/2007 14:46

I mean my new big boobs. . That sounded a bit wrong...

beller · 27/09/2007 14:47

which in turn has dawned on me im in the 3rd trimester now too! hahahaha derrrrrrr
Woo-hoo!
xx

pussycatmomma - I get back pain too but at the very bottom of my back, and slightly to the right most of the time. I will check with my mw, as I am supposed to be seeing her next week. I don't know much about spd but will read up on it.

susiemj and pritchard - welcome

sideways · 27/09/2007 14:52

pussycatmomma - meant to add that babygrows and sleepsuits are perfectly acceptable for months and months (if not years ), as anything else can be too fiddly and too much effort. Take no notice of your friend and do what you want to do.

MotherofZ · 27/09/2007 14:53

Thanks to all you lovely people who wished me well , feeling emotional now, you guys are sooooooo brilliant!!
MM - Have gone home and bed resting, had a good sleep but still cannot keep anything down
Went to Asda to buy some peppermint tea and nearly passed out, so sat in the 'George' dressing room until I felt better.

Hello to all the newbiew, welcome!

Don't talk to me about hair - since the disaster at the hairdressers, I just keep it back in a pony tail and starighten when I feel like.

Mrs McJnr - hope you are ok and have a lovely time in Spain. - send some sunshine this way

Awen - hope your DS get's well soon.
