Hello

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
pussycatmomma · 26/09/2007 09:59

ooooh - thats what I came on here for, just remembered! Is there a lady called Lulubump on this thread? I have just found the rather useful mumnsnet local button and found this lady, she is also due january, and is a nottm lady like me. Are you on here lulubump? if so, would be lovely to be in touch or meet for a coffee.

LilyLoo · 26/09/2007 10:21

morning all hope everything ok.

Sorry you not too good motherofz but i am sure she will be absolutely fine now, justy you who will feel guilty all day. It's so hard working with dc's at times sin't it. But not long to go now until you can be off with her

I think there is someone on here called that pussycatmomma , good luck

bettymama sounds painful.

Welcome chunkypudding

LOL Beller at the dream

Glad most people going with the spock thing. TBH i was shocked that the lady with a daughter already would be prepared to let that woman in her house. I thought she was vile. Surely not giving your baby any love or affection for the first few weeks of it's life could have a long lasting impact on the bonding process for all of you.
I was even more at the clip next week where she wants to put the twins in the garden and shut the door when there is a fox there
No way would she get in my house and near my baby no matter how tired i am. I think that advice for new mums is quite dangerous tbh. As for the baby sleeping through at 6 weeks so did my dd who had loads of love and cuddles! Although didn't work with ds

Hope everyone else has good day and hope all went well Awen with ds

Bettymamma · 26/09/2007 10:29

She left baby twins outside with a fox in the garden . The woman is mad!

She also didn't have children herself - did you notice that. I don't think anyone could actually properly follow her ideas.

Bettymamma · 26/09/2007 10:33

Just read that this crazy woman is on The Wright Stuff on Channel 5 at the moment. Oh how i wish i was at home to watch!

mixedmama · 26/09/2007 10:42

MotherofZ - sorry didnt mean to make youfeel like it was your comment... it wasnt. I have been quite irritable last few days, and feeling utterly rubbish yesterday and then talking about them put me over the edge. Every now and then i have a worrying time about how things will be this time since the situation is now different and just so worried about going back to being depressed, since it has taken so long to get to where we are now, it would feel like a massive step back.

Sorry you are feeling low today tho.... could you just go home do you think. i had a lovely bath and felt much more relaxed after that, then you could get DD early and have a nice long evening.

MotherofZ · 26/09/2007 10:48

thank MM, Bettymama and Lillyloo. You guys are soooooooo lovely.
Feeling a bit better now, defo was hormones this morning. Young girl in the office cheered me up loads as she was on a quest to find out official meaning of 'transvestite' (don't ask how we got to that subject..!)
Missed that programme on C4 last night - was so tired last night, after putting DD to sleep, went to bed at 9.30pm.
hello chunckypudding

Bettymamma · 26/09/2007 10:57

It is an emotional rollercoaster isn't it with these bloomin' hormones!

Motherofz - early night for you tonight.xxx

pps - anyone heard from Awen? - wonder how ds got on.

chunkypudding · 26/09/2007 11:00

Hello ladies, and thanks for the warm welcome! Sure I'll get my head around who's who soon enough!

MotherofZ, glad you're feeling better, I don't have any DC yet (just the bump) and I'm finding work hard enough! Just sooooo tired this week could easily fall asleep at my desk - have any of you ever actually done that?

Wish I'd seen the prog last night tho it sounds v scary... I was catching up on the last 2 episodes of 'Heroes' that I missed. Ok, not so educational...

Going to pilates at one. Haven't practised for week so feeling naughty. Really helps my back though, just wish I could be more dedicated...

MotherofZ · 26/09/2007 11:16

MotherofZ · 26/09/2007 13:17

so ladies are we all going to try the curry to get things moving??

OP posts:
Bettymamma · 26/09/2007 13:20

only if you are cooking......

MotherofZ · 26/09/2007 13:32

Well Bettymama , I can actually make a good curry (learnt off my MIL) - now what would you like: korma, jalfrezi, balti, dopiaz, tikka masala??

None of the jar stuff malarkee, mind you, all fresh ingredients...

OP posts:
beller · 26/09/2007 13:40

mmmmmmmmmmmm love jalfrezi x

Bettymamma · 26/09/2007 13:48

ohhh lovely - a proper curry. Bet you'll be the first to have a baby on this thread.

I'll have anything on offer but korma is a little too mild for me!

Bettymamma · 26/09/2007 13:50

Just seen skibump's is on the due June 2008 thread. Fabulous news!

Lulubump · 26/09/2007 14:30

My goodness, seems like LOADS went on yesterday . Haven't had a chance to catch up properly, but saw pussycatmomma's post - I am in Nottingham, and would be great to meet up! I finally bought some baby clothes, YAY! So excited. Although I always used to think newborn clothes were really tiny and cute, they now seem rather large when laid across my bump, and when I imagine that the baby's who's going to fit in them has tocome out somehow!

LilyLoo · 26/09/2007 14:30

are we back on the food topic again ladies honestly

Some advice please for anyone around this afternoon.
We are going to get fitted wardrobes in the next couple of weeks and wondering what to do with all our others.
I will have two three drawer bedside tables, five drawer chest of drawers, 3 single wardrobes in various combinations some with drawers etc.
Would you try to sell, they pine from argos or what else could i do with them.
TIA

p.s that programme last night is a series in four parts so watch next Tue.

barristermum · 26/09/2007 14:36

oooh motherofz can you put a recipe for tikka masala on here? It's my favourite and I use a really good ready made (but fresh ingredients) sauce - to do my own would be fab! Glad you are feeling better babe.
There is definitely a lulubump who pops in occasionally pcm - I will be in Nott'ham at Xmas too with my folks - where are you giving birth - if I start early we cd be alongside each other?

barristermum · 26/09/2007 14:38

oooh spooky - lulubump crossed with me!
Lilyloo - try ebay, buyer to collect, but in the end freecycle if you just want shot of them.

Lulubump · 26/09/2007 14:57

that would be so funny, barristermum!!
MotherofZ, please do post a curry recipe - am really craving spicy foods atm, and they're even worth the heartburn, because then I have an excuse to have ice cream afterwards

For anyone who loves italian food, apparently eggplant parmigiana (one of my favourites, yum) can speed up labour! Check out this link, to Scalini's restaurant

Bettymamma · 26/09/2007 15:03

am looking forward to this recipe!

Lilyloo - you'd definitely get a taker on freecycle. Its amazing what goes there.

Right off to my first meeting with hr lady about going on maternity leave and all that stuff - wish me luck!

Lulubump · 26/09/2007 15:04

Oh, and Lilyloo, you could post them for sale on the Gumtree pages of your town/city, with buyer to collect, and add photos too
