Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

@TunnocksTcake omg I just did the same thing waiting for 3-4 weeks. But I think I now know why It doesn't say it.
I am also coming up to 5weeks. But that goes by your last period so your actually not pregnant for two of those 5 weeks. Where the CB is measuring the hcg which would make it right. I think anyhow x

xSLPx · 24/12/2019 08:46

@TunnocksTcake try not to worry that's a really strong line you've got there - I know it's hard not to worry though. I'm desperately trying to hold off testing again until tomorrow morning or boxing day so at least by then i'll have missed AF (hopefully!!!). I've only done 1 FRER so far so I really hope I've not set myself up for disappointment.

@BoughsOfHolly Congratulations!! It seems there is definitely baby dust in the air this month as quite a few of us have come over from the other chat Smile

@GalaxyGirl24 I think i'm going to call the GP on the 27th as I still can't convince myself this is happening until I've missed AF.

IslayBrigid · 24/12/2019 08:56

Congratulations @BoughsOfHolly! Such great news. Definitely baby magic in the air as so many of us over from the last chat 🥰
@TunnocksTcake hope the Christmas festivities can take your mind of testing a little :) I fully understand the urge to test. Just did another one! But I am now going to lay off. I have a doctor's appointment on Friday so hopefully that will confirm it all even more.

I love this thread as so many babies due around my birthday (I'm 28th August) including mine!

Merry Christmas everyone! Xx

TunnocksTcake · 24/12/2019 09:09

Thanks ladies, I am going to step away from the tests. You have all made me feel loads better, I'm so glad we have each other. It's so so hard in these early weeks before you can tell anyone you know in real life. Hubby is super supportive but he will never feel it as much as I do. I'm definitely going to start putting snacks by my bed, woke up feeling soooo sick this morning 🤢

TunnocksTcake · 24/12/2019 10:24

@Zm2019 omg what you said just clicked in my brain! CB digis count from conception and I'm thinking of ovulation! conception happens 7-12 days after ovulation silly me! So for me this would have been around 13th/ 14th dec so that is only 1-2 weeks! I really AM a wally! 😂

Mrs71 · 24/12/2019 10:57

Hi ladies. Feeling so worried today I'm having the tiniest amount of brown spotting like it's so tiny but I just get so worried !! I can't cope with this. X

misslaura90 · 24/12/2019 11:21

Hi ladies came back from my scan and all fine despite my spotting I've had the last 2 weeks. Approx 5 -6weeks and seen the heartbeat flicker! Wow makes it so real now. It's all on to tell grandparents to be tomorrow. Merry christmas everyone! Hope everyones preganacy is going well xx

Mrs71 · 24/12/2019 11:36

@misslaura90 aw that's great. What was your spotting like I'm experiencing the same sort of thing? Can't help but worry I'm only 4+4 though x

misslaura90 · 24/12/2019 11:48

@Mrs71 thank you. It was brown red discharge only after wiping apart from occasion when there was blood in the toilet and I did have mild cramps. This week no cramps but still of and on spotting. Just said got to monitor it constancy midwife if gets heavier x

TunnocksTcake · 24/12/2019 12:23

@Mrs71 sorry you are spotting that is concerning but I am sure it's fine, lots of ladies get this especially if it is dark or very light. Fingers crossed it stops before tomorrow so you can enjoy worry free xx

Minniemee · 24/12/2019 12:35

@Mrs71 when I went for my early scan the sonographer said there was a little amount of blood there which was from the implantation bleed and if that did come out it's likely be brown blood rather than red as it's old blood. Perhaps that's what yours could be??

Maggie272 · 24/12/2019 13:17

Hi girls
I posted this on the main page but then thought it might be best to come here for some reassurance as we are all at the same stage. Not feeling good, and I should be over the moon.

My biggest worry is the decorating we had done last week. I didn't do any of it, and wasn't here when it was done. There is still a smell of paint and gloss upstairs. I don't sleep there, sleep downstairs with windows wide open. No smell in kitchen or living room - doors are kept closed and windows are open. I'm usually away during the day. We don't live in the city, eat organic and just really healthy.

My DH (darling husband) is frozed all the time with the open windows : ) I'm 5wks. Every day I freak out about something different. Yesterday we were in the city and it was the city fumes. I also just can't stop crying, and feeling more dizzy today - perhaps hormones have something to do with this.

My mum said she was varnishing, painting, smoking and taking codene for the first few weeks she was pregnant with one of my brothers : )

After losing two previous pregnancies I'm terrified. Just need a hug

much love
Mx

mamansnet · 24/12/2019 13:25

Hi everyone, can I join? I'm 5+5, due August 20th. Had an early scan today (MMC in 2018), saw a yolk sac but no Christmas heartbeat just yet Xmas Grin

Minniemee · 24/12/2019 14:41

@Maggie272 sending you big Christmas hugs 🤗

It's totally normal to feel dizzy, lots of ladies have commented on the posts I've read to say they've had dizziness (I did too) and it's due to the surge of hormones lowering your blood pressure slightly. Also think about everything that's going on in there and how that's playing with all your emotions, - pms is enough to send women's emotions all over the place let alone a little one! it's totally normal to feel anxious. I'm a total newbie to this whole journey (had a long journey to get here with severe endo so I too am feeling like I'm walking on eggshells each day!) and I know there's so many lovely ladies on here who are more experienced and might be able to provide you with some better info. I can't imagine how frightening it must be having lost 2 previous pregnancies, but what I do know is that little one is relying on you to provide a healthy oven for them and the more positive you can be the better that oven is! Wink have you booked an early scan? If not, maybe that would be a great thing to ease your mind slightly? If your 5 weeks you could see if you could get in between Xmas and new year?

Also in regards to the painting etc, look at these women you read about who don't find out they're pregnant until very late on so keep going about their normal eating/drinking what they like or babies born to drug users- they come out just fine on the whole, which is a lot worse than a bit of paint fumes.

I'm posting this picture that came across my instagram the other day which I think is great to interpret how we are all feeling at this early stage.

Xx

Mrs71 · 24/12/2019 18:05

Thank you for the reassurance ladies I have no pain what so ever so that's good. I just feel so anxious. It's hardly anything just tiny but of brown/pink now and again even when I wipe it's nothing. I have 2 weeks to wait for my early scan feel like ages away! xx

GalaxyGirl24 · 24/12/2019 18:27

Okay so I know I shouldn't be testing again but I did anyway and have moved up to Clearblue 2-3 weeks ! This cements it a bit more in my mind as 5 days ago I was 1-2 weeks although I know that CB are notoriously unreliable and also loads of people don't move up from 2-3 weeks ever despite being heavily pregnant! I only tested so I could feel stronger in my resolution to tell parents on Christmas Day! As me and DH were umming and ahhing about it 😅

Maggie272 · 24/12/2019 18:40

@Minniemee thank you so much for replying...I was so sure that my anxiety had hurt the baby, but I spoke to my sister this afternoon and she said she had some really stressful days when she was pregnant. I'm guessing with hormones it's hard to not be anxious once in a while. I'm just so afraid of mc, as everyone here is. Yes, I will have a six week scan on Jan 2nd! So excited to maybe see the little heartbeat. How you are you?

@Mrs71 I hope you are feeling better

BoughsOfHolly · 24/12/2019 19:01

@GalaxyGirl24 we are the same - unsure about telling parents and siblings tomorrow. I only just got my BFP today so don’t want to jump the gun but they will be so suspicious that I’m not drinking. We’re going to say we are pregnant but with a massive caveat that it’s early days etc.

How are you going to do it? Xx

GalaxyGirl24 · 24/12/2019 21:42

@BoughsOfHolly Well I'm not sure, I keep changing my mind. Been round today and wasn't able to eat any tiramisu my mum made (she makes it mega boozy) so think that's made her suspicious! I'm thinking to airdrop a picture of the positive tests onto their phones in the midst of all of the Christmas excitement and see how it unfolds but I'm so superstitious and don't want to jinx anything ....it will be with a big caveat though as you say

IslayBrigid · 25/12/2019 08:47

@Maggie272 sorry to hear you've been feeling anxious but really glad you are feeling a bit better now!
It's funny coz we are also in the middle of decorating. My partner and I made the decision I would lay off the painting for first trimester but having looked at the Dulux site (we are using Dulux) it a actually says all their paints are fine to use when pregnant at any stage. I would still about actually applying solvent paints like gloss and stainwood but if they have been applied somewhere in the house and you can smell a bit I really think this will be fine especially if the Dulux site actually says it is. Trust your body and your baby. I imagine having had two miscarriages would be very scary and make you anxious and I'm so sorry to hear about you going through this. But I do think trusting in your body and the process is the best thing you can do. When I was anxious in the two week wait I did some affirmations - writing them down then saying out loud a few times and really feeling the words sink in. Like, "I love my body and trust in its wisdom" "I accept my current reality" stuff like that... in the absence of yoga especially, meditations and manifesting and affirmations can help! Headspace as a pregnancy series and there are lots of pregnancy meditations around. One is called expectful.

Hope you have a lovely Xmas and you are feeling a bit better. Xxx

IslayBrigid · 25/12/2019 08:48

*still avoid actually applying solvent based paints 😏 water based are fine but I'm still avoiding in first trimester xx

IslayBrigid · 25/12/2019 08:50

And yes I might avoid painting for the the whole pregnancy anyway, or maybe do a little bit of water based stuff in second trimester, but I thought it was reassuring to read the Dulux advice and also, the NHS says first trimester is when you should avoid but they don't put an absolute ban on it. And again I dont think the fumes from another room will do anything bad at all. :)

ezridelmastro · 25/12/2019 10:40

Hi everyone! I'm new to this thread, not very new to MN, have been reading for years but never really posted except on a pregnancy thread when I was pregnant with DD who is now 5 (only child... not for long I suppose!). Just got a BFP yesterday on Christmas Eve - bit surprised as we've been sort of casually trying for a while with no luck, I'd sort of given up/put on hold in my head. Period was due so I thought I'd test just to make sure I was OK to have a few drinks... And lo and behold, it turns out I'm pregnant! Anxious and worried about a bunch of stuff as is my way, but also excited. We keep having to remind ourselves that we did actually plan to do this, weird how it feels like a shock? DH wants to tell families but I would rather keep it quiet for as long as possible. But they may suss and I'm not drinking or eating the nice cheese. Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone I hope you all have a great day!

Maggie272 · 25/12/2019 16:37

Hope everyone is having a great day!

I told my immediate family! Had planned to keep in quiet for another couple weeks. Hope I haven't jinxed it. Was sort of wishing I had waited... Maybe just worrying too much xxx

f00k · 25/12/2019 17:11

Welcome @ezridelmastro! What a lovely early Christmas present for you. I think sometimes taking the pressure off helps. We've been TTC since the end of August which isn't that long really but I got pregnant very quickly with our first two so I said to DP this month that I felt ready to give up for a bit! (I wouldn't have but that's how I felt in the moment). So perhaps the casual approach helped us both! What are you most anxious and worried about? Happy to listen Smile
