Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

Hello can I join you all? I’m 4weeks +5 with dc1 after what feels like a long year of trying. Due 28th August. Absolutely delighted but it still feels a little surreal! Merry Christmas to everyone and your tiny little nuggets. X

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 25/12/2019 19:42

Hi everyone, can I join too please?
Got my BFP Christmas eve which was just so wonderful and exciting 😁 although I've felt so rough for 2 weeks with nausea and cramps.
Isnt it hard to hide over Christmas with family?! 🙃 I've had a glass of champagne and otherwise made a variety of excuses that they seemed to buy!!

ezridelmastro · 25/12/2019 20:15

@f00k Thank you, hello to you! TTC seems to feel like ages even if it hasn't actually been so I do get you - we were sort-of-trying since around April, but not full on temperature charting or anything. We also had a few months of trying a couple of years ago but put it on hold for a year due to change of circumstances, so it kind of feels like it's been years even though it hasn't really been! As for anxiety and worry... I'm just quite an anxious person really. I spent my pregnancy with DD mostly terrified that something horrible was going to happen. I'm also mulling future concerns like how can we afford this, how will it all work when I go back to work (had a different job when I had DD) etc. Obviously we've given this stuff some thought before TTC but it likely won't all be plain sailing in reality. I think other people probably get excited when they find out they're pregnant but I just start running through worst case scenarios! I'm hoping for a slightly less anxious time this time around.

@sweetpeaormarigold I think I can just about get away with not drinking without raising eyebrows as I don't always drink these days anyway, but I think it'll definitely be noticed if I don't eat the nice cheese at boxing day lunch!

Hi - Merry Christmas! Can I join you please? Got my BFP on the 23rd. We have been trying for about 4 months and are really lucky to get a positive so soon. I’ve not had a lot of symptoms mainly just some cramps, heavy boobs the last couple of days and a missed period of course.

But..this afternoon I’ve had some pink spotting and now my brain is on overdrive! I’m an overthinker (hence the name) and I’ve been googling like mad to try and to put my mind at ease one way or any other, but I’m non the wiser. Should I be worried?

I’m now starting to question if my boobs feel as heavy today as they did yesterday - am I completely insane?! Does this sound like a miscarriage? It’s all so early, and new to me, I don’t know what to think.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Mrs71 · 26/12/2019 11:03

@tryingnottooverthink congratulations on your BFP! I had this on Xmas eve it only lasted a day or so and was quite light and just stopped. I think it was implantation bleeding but I know how worried you must feel as it is so worrying I felt awful all day. I'm having an early scan on the 10th I can't wait for some reassurance. But I keep reading how common it is for pink/brown spotting x

BabyOnePending · 26/12/2019 11:23

Hi, can I join please? I got my BFP on Christmas Eve. Think I'll be due on the 1st September. Really was the best christmas present after suffering a mmc back in April. Feeling so excited but anxious at the same time. Congratulations on everyone else's BFP.

ezridelmastro · 26/12/2019 15:15

@tryingnottooverthink if you're worried then ask your doctor about it - I had this with DD at about 6 weeks and was referred for a scan at the EPU, all was fine and it put my mind at rest. Many will have similar stories, it is normal but may be worth checking out if you're concerned.

f00k · 26/12/2019 20:21

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. I ate my body weight in Twiglets. 5 weeks tomorrow and still no symptoms apart from the occasional boob twinge. At this point with DC2 I was falling asleep all the time! Still half-thinking it's all in my head because of the lack of symptoms.

Bert2020 · 26/12/2019 20:36

@f00k I’m the same, I know this phase is a bit limbo land after testing positive but with DC1 I was so sick by now it feels strange not having any symptoms yet.

GalaxyGirl24 · 26/12/2019 21:30

@ezridelmastro @Arc86 @SweetpeaOrMarigold @BabyOnePending @tryingnottooverthink Welcome and Congratulations to the thread! 🌟🌟 How are you all feeling? I've had no symptoms up until recently but then I started with one sore breast and now I have two so it's a matching set finally 😆 no other symptoms apart from being a bit more tired than usual but not excessively so! Got an early scan booked in for when I'm just 7 weeks

tryingnottooverthink · 26/12/2019 23:29

Hi! Thanks for having me 😊

@Mrs71 @ezridelmastro thank you, I’m slightly less crazy today - no more spotting so far. I am avoiding google and will have a chat to the doctor when I have my first appointment. I often get stuck in my head, my husband always says he can see the cogs turning 🙈

@GalaxyGirl24 feeling ok, not really any symptoms so far other than slightly more sensitive boobs, I’m a bit more sleepy too though that could just be from all the Christmas food I’ve eaten. I might actually be 40% roast potato now!

Mrs71 · 27/12/2019 01:38

@f00k I'm 5 weeks tomorrow too! Still no symptoms for me either I keep poking my boobs every time I do I get a sharp pain 😂 but that's about it. I feel so worried all the time and just want some reassurance I'm even too scared to do another test. I last tested Saturday on cb digital and had 2-3 weeks pregnant.

@Galaxygirl24 when is your scan?

@tryingnottooverthink don't worry I've been crazy since I found out. My spotting stopped the same day too so maybe was just implantation. It's so scary though isn't it I'm constantly knicker checking.

ezridelmastro · 27/12/2019 06:59

@galaxygirl24 thanks and hello! I think I'm 4+4 but I'm not 100% sure what day my last period started, so it could be a day or two more. I wasn't really keeping track this month as I say! I do have symptoms though, exactly the same as my first pregnancy. Had sore boobs since about 5 days before my period was due, which happens every month and convinced me AF was on its way as usual. Then the day after I got my a positive test I started feeling slightly sick. Its pretty much constant if I don't keep eating every hour or so. It's quite mild nausea and goes away when I eat so can't complain too much but it's not particularly pleasant! I also feel really tired but quite honestly I always feel really tired (I work FT with a long commute most days).

kkr168 · 27/12/2019 08:03

Hi everyone, found out on saturday that i'm pregnant, my due dates coming out as 20/08/2020 going by my last period, clear blue test said 2-3 weeks!!
I have a 16 year old son with my husband & 2 stepsons (18 & 21) that have lived with us from 1 & 4 years of age, this baby has come as a huge shock but we are very excited. We told the boys xmas morning, they were shocked but very happy!!
We are all hoping for a girl.
As my 1st pregnancy was so long ago what is my next step, gp appointment, nurse or straight to midwife? We are going away until the 30th so will have to book an appointment for our return.

Arc86 · 27/12/2019 08:24

Thanks @GalaxyGirl24 ! Looking forward to the rollercoaster ride of pregnancy with everyone! Eek! No symptoms at all over here so far. Sent my local maternity services an email yesterday to get the ball rolling on getting my booking in appointment sorted. In hindsight maybe I was a bit keen and should have waited another week or two. How did you go about getting an early scan organised? I thought they were only available if there was a concern about the baby?

f00k · 27/12/2019 08:40

@Mrs71 at least it's not just me that's symptomless! I feel like I'm missing out. I want some nausea please!

@kkr168 usual protocol round here is to call your GP and ask the receptionist to book you in for a booking appointment with the midwife. So you don't usually see anyone until 8-9 weeks. Or your area might have a self-referral service where you fill in a form on your hospital website and a midwife gets in contact with you. How does it feel to start the baby stage all over again? He/she will have lots of big brothers to help Grin

@Arc86 congrats! I don't think you were too keen at all. I called up at 4 weeks to arrange my booking appointment and even then I won't be seen until 9+5 because they're so busy. They get booked up quick round here so there's no such thing as booking it too soon! You can arrange an early scan through a private clinic. Google ultrasound clinics in your area. There about £50-70. On the NHS it's only if there's a concern or something in your medical history that needs monitoring.

SweetpeaOrMarigold · 27/12/2019 08:56

I've emailed as well @Arc86 because theres not much else to do!
All you lot without symptoms I'm very jealous! Currently in GPs because the nausea is so bad and nearly vomited this morning. I had hyperemesis with DS so I'm getting the medication asap. Also have near-constant cramps which are making me worry about having ectopic Sad.
Feel like a sack of spuds and just want to sleep x

ezridelmastro · 27/12/2019 09:29

@kkr168 My daughter is only 5 and I was going to ask what to do too as I've pretty much forgotten everything! I bet stuff will have changed even in just that time.
On a similar subject - I have heard that you get different tests when you're over 35 does anyone know anything about that? I was 30 when I had my daughter and am 36 now.

GalaxyGirl24 · 27/12/2019 09:35

@Arc86 Hey, I don't think it's too keen either. I much prefer to be organised! Well it's a private scan I've booked, thought it'd be nice to see to make things more real and put my mind to rest. I'm likely going to end up going for scans every few weeks knowing me.

GalaxyGirl24 · 27/12/2019 09:36

@Mrs71 my scan will be 5/1/20, so I'll have just gone into week 7! It's so frightening as all I see online is how common a MC is so I just feel on edge constantly

GalaxyGirl24 · 27/12/2019 09:38

@tryingnottooverthink yeah not many symptoms here either although I had a slight feeling of nausea last night and have had terrible insomnia and breasts were killing last night

GalaxyGirl24 · 27/12/2019 09:40

@ezridelmastro same, my boobs were killing literally the day after I OV'd. I was convinced it was a mega AF coming as if just started Accupuncture to try and fix my light periods - but then got a BFP like 10dpo!

Arc86 · 27/12/2019 10:17

@SweetpeaOrMarigold sorry to hear you’re feeling rough already, must be tough dealing with the nausea plus looking after your DS. Sounds very sensible getting whatever help you can from GP. Hope it passes quickly!

ezridelmastro · 27/12/2019 10:37

@Galaxygirl24 with my first pregnancy I was constantly on edge - it's really horrible and as much as everyone says don't worry you can't turn it off. Hopefully you'll feel better when you have this scan and future ones. So far this time I don't feel as worried but then it's only been a few days and it's very early so it's probably hasn't sunk in properly yet.
