Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

Wow such a beautiful little baby @Minniemee!! So exciting!!! Are you going to try to figure out boy / girl based on nub theory?? Looks like a girl to me based on my understanding... But it's a bit confusing! Is it your first baby?

@Mammasj yes it seems I could be in the girl window! That's so nice you are going to wait to find out if it's a boy / girl at the birth. I imagine that would be so special. I am way too impatient though! Don't even know how I'll wait till 20 weeks... Feels like so long.
I'm not finding it very easy to be mindful in my pregnancy... I need to work on being present and not wishing the time away!
DP and I had a bit of an argument last night about number of kids. He doesn't want more than 2 due to the environmental crisis etc. I really would like 3. But I know 2 will be good. He said we could adopt a third but I'm not sure about that... For ages he didn't even want kids at all because he's so worried about climate change so I am really happy he has come round to having two. It's been a process haha! Also I shouldn't worry really, I have a little bean growing right now, no point worrying about future beans yet. 🤷‍♀️

@Jessem29 thank you for thinking of me 💐 9+2 today and baby was moving around ❤ I was really anxious in the waiting room again but so happy I went, I feel reassured again. The only thing is they rescheduled my main scan as I expected because it would be too early so I need to wait another 3 weeks for that. Not sure if I will last that long without an additional scan between, but will see how I feel.

Jessem29 · 28/01/2020 11:18

@Martina2311 amazing news!! Congratulations!! How amazing. Haha ino what you mean. That's how I caved and booked another 🙈! Enjoy your day knowing your caring a very healthy little bean!! Xx

Minniemee · 28/01/2020 12:41

@IslayBrigid thank you so much lovely! So glad we finally got to see it and all is good at the minute!! I actually sent it off to the nubtechs this morning and it's come back as 95% chance of a girl, I'm convinced it's a boy though! I guess it's just a bit of fun and no theory in it right? X

IslayBrigid · 28/01/2020 15:26

@Minniemee ooh interesting! I didn't know you could submit the photo to somewhere?
How come you're convinced it's a boy?
I do think intuition counts for something. Also I'm pretty sure you can't rely on the nub theory but I know it's been right for some people!

Minniemee · 28/01/2020 18:28

@IslayBrigid yes I read it on another mumsnet post.. they're called NubTech if you google it and they 'claim' to be 98% accurate - it was only £9.99 so OH and I thought it would just be fun to send it and see what they say! Nothing other than a 'feeling' it's a boy.. most probably because we have a name for a girl but not one for a boy Grin

IslayBrigid · 28/01/2020 20:41

Oh interesting! I will probably submit my 12 week scan too 🤣 I've got mine in 3 weeks! @Minniemee

Minniemee · 28/01/2020 20:52

@IslayBrigid if you can spare the £9.99 it's worth it just for a bit of fun! Please let us know how you get on Grin

Mammasj · 29/01/2020 08:32

@IslayBrigid Wow that's so lovely that your partner is thinking of the bigger picture! But I'm glad you have compromised! 😊 I know exactly what you mean, I'm wishing time away too and I don't think I'll be happy until around 14 weeks when I can finally tell everyone (including work) and then I can just relax and enjoy the ride for what probably is my last pregnancy. The first trimester is just full of worry. I'm dreading my scan on Saturday. My husband thinks I'm crazy because it should be an exciting event but I'm so worried of what could happen, I'll be a nervous wreck now until it's over. Just hoping that all is well 🤞 xx

Martina2311 · 29/01/2020 14:19

Thank you @Jessem29 What time is your appointment today? Will be thinking of you! 😊

Jessem29 · 29/01/2020 14:29

@Martina2311. It was ment to be 8pm but been moved till 6pm. Not long now. Thanfully work has been busy. Keeping me occupied haha. Thank you for thinking of me! X

Martina2311 · 29/01/2020 15:09

@Jessem29 oh that's great no long to go then! I'm sure everything will be alright and you will also feel much better again. 😊

Mammasj · 29/01/2020 15:14

@Jessem29 Good luck for this afternoon! Will be thinking of you! Thanks x

Minniemee · 29/01/2020 15:59

@Jessem29 best of luck! Xx

Mrs71 · 29/01/2020 16:17

Hi ladies, just been catching up on the thread. I had my booking appointment today midwife just seemed rude and wanted to get me out the way! Felt so rushed then she ran after me out the hospital because she said she forgot to write something in my notes and sat on the floor doing it!! 🙄 I also got my 12 week scan date it's on the 21st Feb when I'll be 13 weeks exactly. Is this not a bit too late? Or is it ok I'm just worried incase any of my dates are out.

@Minniemee aw the baby looks like a proper little bubba. How cute.

@Jessem29 good luck with your appointment xx

Maggie272 · 29/01/2020 21:23

Hello @IslayBrigid thank you so much for checking in Flowers. I have been having weekly scans since 6 weeks. Today ten weeks and we could see the little arms and legs moving around, it was amazing, and to hear the heartbeat. I think because this is an IVF pregnancy after two losses I am majorly struggling with anxiety...but not all the time. I spoke to my ob-gyn and she said yoga is great to do and I'm going to start up again. Did you keep it up? How are you feeling??

IslayBrigid · 29/01/2020 22:09

@Mammasj yes it is lovely that he has such a good conscience :) it's nice to remember his feelings about everything are for good reason.... And we will have two (fingers crossed) which is a nice little family. I'm an only child from my mum (my dad has a few) so it feels really important to me to have at least two. I would have loved a sibling from my mum's side to grow up with :)
I really hope your scan goes well Saturday, I'm sure it will! Post a pic :) is 14 weeks when you can start relaxing? I thought it was 12?? Haha. Damn. Two more weeks of worry... 😬
Having said that I'm feeling pretty positive about it all which is good. Aside from feeling nauseous and emotional!!
@Jessem29 I hope your scan today went well!! 😘✨

IslayBrigid · 29/01/2020 22:16

@Maggie272 yay so glad you and the baby-bean are good! Wow weekly scans, you could document it's changes yourself and write your own little book about it :) that's so cool. So glad you are getting the reasurance you need. I'm in my tenth week now at 9+2, have my 12 week scan in exactly 3 weeks. I really can't wait. Haven't had any scans yet. I just hope it goes well!! I'm sure as long as it all goes well it'll make it all feel more real.
I'm good but been struggling with a lot of nausea, fatigue and mood swings. I guess it's all just part of it!
And I just started up yoga again yesterday :) it felt so good. Luckily the teacher just gave me some modifications (no twists or backbends) and she was really lovely. I'm going to try to go weekly. Also started up pilates again last week and have been doing some swimming. I find that if I can drag myself to it, exercise really helps.
Can you send us a little pic of your latest scan? If you don't mind ? Would love to see how the bean looks at 10 weeks seeing as I'm close to that! X

Vialarooski · 30/01/2020 06:51

@2019Mama how are you doing?

BoboN5 · 30/01/2020 07:52

Hello everyone! I'm 11 weeks exactly today with my first and so excited to share this journey with you all - there's a lot to learn! Sore boobs aside and a bit of nausea my symptoms have been very manageable so feel very lucky so far. I was expecting much worse! Taking a lot of comfort in the fact that everyone is having so many different experiences but all of them are completely normal! @islaybridig hey!! I've been doing yoga too which is really helpful. There's some fab prenatal videos from Alo Yoga on YouTube which are also great if you can't quite drag yourself to a physical class. Sometimes just 10 minutes of stretching can do you the world of good!

Jessem29 · 30/01/2020 07:53

Thank you everyone. It all went great. We got to our little baby moving about, that was very surreal! Very exciting. We are measuring just over 10 weeks! So ready for the 12 weeks to be here now. We havnt told anyone at all yet, so very excited to tell my parents! Xx

Mrs71 · 30/01/2020 08:54

@Jessem29 aw that's great, I think I'm going to book in for another scan too. I can't wait till the 21st seems like agesss away. x

Welcome @BoboN5! Yes yoga is so helpful isn't it :) I hadn't been to a class since I was 4weeks until Tues this week. I got a bit scared about going but after speaking to the midwife I realised it's fine with modifications. Will check out those YouTube vids. I've been doing some prenatal yoga on YouTube with Tara Styles she is pretty good too!
Have you had any scans yet? I just can't wait to have my 12 week one in 3 weeks!

IslayBrigid · 30/01/2020 08:58

Congratulations @Jessem29 so happy for you! Wow you have done so well holding out telling people. It's going to be so exciting to announce!! X
