Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

Hey @Minniemee sorry to hear you're feeling anxious! Hopefully the pp have already reassured you, but just wanted to let you know I weighed myself yesterday and I've put on no weight at all since before I was pregnant and I'm 8+5. I haven't been vommitting or really reducing what I've been eating either. I have felt quite nauseous but generally still been able to eat! But perhaps the energy it takes to grow the bean is just taking all those calories and we have actually lost a little bit of weight, perhaps more than what the baby has added, if that makes sense? Also sore boobs are a very real symptom!! So take reassurance in that :)

I am also trying not to worry. My boobs still v sore and I'm tired but the nausea comes and goes for sure. My midwife said it's very normal.

I ate some soft mould ripened cheese (anyone else??) yesterday without realising it was bad because it was pasteurised (apparently still bad) so had a little freak out but have woken up feeling like oh well it's done all I can do is not have it again! Chances of anything happening and tint. The worry is real tho isn't it.
Hope you have a good weekend and let us know how the scan goes! X

Hi ladies. Just wondered if you on some days feel much more bloated than the others? Like extremely? So far Ive always felt bloated only in my lower abdomen but for some reason yesterday, i got so bloated, that I was even cramping all over tummy and felt so much discomfort for the whole afternoon since lunch. The only thing I can think about is too much dairy as I had 2 youghurts with bagel for breakfast, a yoghurt drink for a snack and 2 babybells before lunch. Before I got pregnant I lowered down my lactose intake, started using oatmilk and lactose free milk more, having cows milk only from occasional yoghurt or cheese on pasta. So thinking if my body is not able to tolerate the cows milk as much anymore and therefore reacted that way? It got better during the night, but again after breakfast I feel so bloated (bran cereal with just a bit of milk and a pear). I also feel like my uterus is sore. When I gently press on my lower abdomen, I find it quite painful as well as sometimes when I change position fast. Its been like that since yesterday. Do you think it's just the expanding?

I took a photo this morning as I feel like for 9 weeks tomorrow I look noticeably bigger despite the fact I've only gained max 2 kg. I guess its probably all the bloating?

Beth804 · 25/01/2020 19:00

@Minniemee I think symptoms die down around 12 weeks anyway, so hopefully after your scan you can just enjoy feeling a bit more normal again!

@ButterflyRuns how has your nausea been? Mine is awful - I think it was what started giving me an inkling it might be twins. I also have a very obvious bump - might be because it's my second pregnancy as well as the twins, but I looked back through bump pics from last time, and I'm the same size now (at 9 and a half weeks) as I was at 20 weeks last time!! 😬 Don't know how people at work haven't noticed, they're probably all gossiping behind my back!

@Beth804 It’s improved a little like people said it would by this point but I still feel dreadful. This pregnancy is definitely being hard on me so far, just my luck! I’m already starting to wear looser clothes as a precaution because there’s definitely a bump but I’m not in maternity clothes yet, I should really talk to some other ladies who’ve had twins and ask when it became blatantly obvious since I still want to hold out longer. I think it really depends on your height and I’m 5’5. It’s still so long for you to wait and find out the suspension would be killing me, how exciting if it was twins!

I feel so drained mentally, anyone else? So glad DH is supportive

ButterflyRuns · 25/01/2020 21:31

@Beth804 Oh wait I’m such an idiot!! You said last week you were having twins like me and I completely misread your message. You can tell I’m tired!! When are you planning on telling people it’s twins then I should say Grin

Jessem29 · 25/01/2020 23:05

@Martina2311 Yess I defo have days were I feel more bloated!! Tonight my stomach looks so swollen but this morning was just flat and normal. I havnt been able to wear my high waisted Jean's for a few weeks. They just feel like they hurt my tummy. I am 9weeks6days now, dont have a bump or anything just almost swollen. I have been living if carbs though to be fair, morning sickness is killing me all day so I eat small and often. But defo more bread that I would normally. I guess its alot of water too! Its defo worse my bloating at night. Xx

@mostlyambridgeandcoffee I also self-referred, to Guys i think though. Haven't heard anything, also 2 weeks. I go on holiday on weds for a fortnight so really want to get it booked before I go. Will be nearly 10weeks when I get back and they say you should have done it by then. I might ring by doctor. Let me know if you make any progress would you please?

@mrs71 @ginblooded I have also been spotting brown, for 3 days, but getting less each day and yesterday nothing at all.

Found an amazing research report: Approximately one-fourth of participants (n=1207) reported bleeding. Most episodes lasted less than 3 days, and most occurred between gestational weeks 5–8. Twelve percent of women with bleeding and 13% of those without experienced miscarriage.

It can apparently be further implantation or the placenta burying its villi in...

IslayBrigid · 26/01/2020 16:08

@FoxtrotSkarloey congrats on seeing the heartbeat! 💓 how many weeks are you now?
Just wanted to say I had a similar experience with eating mould ripened goat cheese on Fri 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ we got a cheese board & I ordered it off the menu coz it said it was pasturised but then it came out with a rind, but I didn't really think about it properly and thought if it's pasturised it's fine! So ate it. Then thought hmm maybe I need to Google. Googled and of course if it has the rind it is mould ripened and doesn't matter if it is pasturised it's still a no-no! So was very worried for a night. I spoke to a friend who's had babies and she said not to worry, just think of it as a learning experience. It's really unlikely either of us will get listeria from a one off mistake like that! And lots of ladies keep eating rare meat and all the cheeses and they are fine! In 2015 there was something like 150 cases of listeria in UK and only about 17 were pregnant ladies so it is suuuuuuper uncommon. So try not to worry :) x the iron from the meat will be good for the bean!

Martina2311 · 26/01/2020 16:46

@Jessem29 so glad it's not just me! 🙈Everyone says that with second pregnancy you show much earlier and I'm already finding out how true this is. Of course baby is still tiny but I am guessing my expanding uterus and abdominal muscles are not waiting for anything. I'm 9 weeks today and if I compare photos of me now and me when I was pregnant with my son for the first time, I already look like as when I was maybe 4 months with him. I went to buy myself some comfortable leggings and work trousers today. Looking forward feeling much more comfortable than in the jeans.

When is your main scan by the way? Xx

Jessem29 · 26/01/2020 16:50

@Martina2311 this is baby number one with me. I defo dont have a 'baby bump' but at night time it looks like iv had a massive meal or a bad period haha. I am 10 weeks so my scan is 2 weeks tomorrow the 10th of Feb! I have a private scan booked for Wednesday night. I feel anxious as I was 10 weeks when I lost my second twin. So I think I'll feel much better after Wedneaday. I have broken it down in my head haha. 3 days till this scan then 12 days till the main one! Honestly cant come quick enough! Do you have your date of your main scan? Xx

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 26/01/2020 20:18

@KittieKath will do - still nothing. I’ve rung and left a few messages with the vmx but no one has rung back. Think supposed to have the booking appt with the midwife at around 8 weeks (which will this Thurs for me) and when I rang my local surgery (where the Thomases midwives operate from) they said the hospital handles all that so to wait to hear from them! Annoying! Let me know if you hear too!

Martina2311 · 26/01/2020 20:49

@Jessem29 I can imagine why you are a bit anxious around this time but I am positive that this is your year and after what you've been through, it's your time to have your dream baby! ❤ Let us know how Wednesday goes and I completely understand how you scheduled the scans for yourself. 😊

I had one at 8 weeks exactly and my main scan is booked for Feb 6th when I will be 10+4 but I've decided I want to do another one between as I'd probably get anxious waiting 18 days ...I know it sounds silly but after last time I just want to have updates as often as I can. So we are going again this Tuesday. My main scan is booked so early as I ovulate later in the cycle and that particular month, my ovulation got even more delayed (probably out of all the excitement that we are finally starting to try again 😁) so judging from my period dates I should be further. But this same thing happened with my son and because they couldnt meassure everything properly for all the syndromes, they just asked me to come back in 10 days...so I'm kind of expecting the same this time.

It's so exciting that we are slowly getting into the stage when we all will be having our big scans and then finally we can all relax a little more and properly start enjoying this special time ❤

Mrs71 · 27/01/2020 00:42

@Minniemee good luck for your scan tomorrow. I'm sure everything will be fine. 😊 I completely understand the anxiety as I am exactly the same. I'm so tired of it now and really want to shrug all the silly little things I think about all the time away!!

@KittieKath mine started on Thursday and by Yesterday there was hardly anything. I get really worried when I see it but I do also know it can be very common. I have booking appointment on Wednesday will mention it then.

@Martina2311 same with the bloating some mornings I look in the mirror and see a small bump. Sometimes I look and it looks completely flat then I worry myself! 🤣

Martina2311 · 27/01/2020 10:13

@Mrs71 hahaha great that we are all on the same boat here! I also woke up with a flat tummy this morning...even slept on it for a while, which I find really uncomfortable most nights. But I am on my second breakfast now and it's starting to pop out again 😄 Have you started moisturizing your belly yet? If you are planning to. Ive started already since I really feel like it's starting to stretch.
In the evenings I usually look like I actually have a small bump and my son started noticing it already. He keeps saying he thinks that either I must be growing a baby in there or I need to go on diet 😄

Vialarooski · 27/01/2020 11:48

Hello everyone!
I just need a bit of a talking to, because i'm having a real wobbly moment of doubt. I've just had my booking in apt with the Midwife (i'm 8+5 weeks) and we have a early reassurance scan booked in on Thursday. But i just worry so much that i don't feel pregnant. Does anyone feel heavy or just feel different in there uterus? I did when i was peg with my DD but don't have the same feeling this time and its really worrying me....
I just keep thinking....its all too good to be true, something is going to happen..

Mammasj · 27/01/2020 12:38

@Vialarooski I am in the exact same boat as you today. I woke up yesterday feeling entirely normal and not pregnant anymore 😢 and it's continued today. I had my booking appointment on Saturday which was fine and I have booked a private scan for this coming Saturday. But I'm just worrying that things have gone wrong 😥 I can remember having the exact same doubts and fears on my last pregnancies so I'm telling myself to stop being silly and just relax and wait but it's hard to stay positive. Im just constantly worrying. It's going to be a long week! 😥 you're not alone, try and stay positive xx

Vialarooski · 27/01/2020 13:49

@Mammasj Let us comfort each other! What symptoms do you have? I try to reassure myself by counting symptoms...I've got a stuffy nose, heightened sense of smell, heavy boobies, and fatigue. But my head disregards these as proper symptoms! I don't have the need to pee constantly, or nausea which to me are the real deal symptoms lol!

Mammasj · 27/01/2020 13:55

@Vialarooski I really don't have any symptoms at all! ☹️ I haven't had sore boobs at all this time. The only thing I have put down to pregnancy is feeling absolutely exhausted but there could be so many reasons for this. I've recently had a nasty cold and I work full time and have two young kids. So I'm just not convinced that it's pregnancy related at all. I didn't have a whole lot of symptoms on my boys either but I definitely felt more pregnant than this. I feel totally normal 😥 I can't wait until that scan is done on Saturday! How far gone are you now? I'm 8+3 today so I'll be 9+1 for the scan on Saturday. X

Vialarooski · 27/01/2020 14:28

Perhaps the symptoms are less because its a different gender? That's what i'm putting it down to! Ill be 9+1 when i have my scan on Thursday. I wish the NHS offered some kind of reassurance scan before the 12 week one. I understand why they don't but it just feels so unfair we have to wait.

Mammasj · 27/01/2020 14:46

@Vialarooski Yes this waiting period is so stressful isn't it! And even up until the scan on Saturday, I'll be a nervous wreck and dreading it. What gender have you got already if you don't mind me asking? Your symptoms sound great! I had a killer sense of smell first time around. X

Vialarooski · 27/01/2020 14:55

@Mammasj Ive got a little girl, and i don't really remember having any symptoms with her except for an aversion to chicken, and my sense of taste went dull.
But its totally different this time round, my sense of smell is crazy strong to the point i get irritated lol. I feel like i can smell savoury food so strongly, it makes me really paranoid. I keep going around the house checking to see if it smells of last nights dinner! Interesting you said you had the same with your sense of smell in your pregnancies, am i right in thinking both were boys?

Mammasj · 27/01/2020 15:05

@Vialarooski Yes I have two boys! Lol my guess is that you're having a boy 😂 I had an aversion to the smell of cheese and onion crisps on them, it was awful because I usually love them lol But other than little things like that, I didn't have any awful symptoms like sickness or anything. So I'm convinced I'm cooking up another boy! Lol I'd LOVE a little girl but I really don't think it's going to happen! I'm going to have a football team 🤦🏽‍♀️ Haha x

Mammasj · 27/01/2020 15:06

@Vialarooski Did you have any sickness on your daughter? Everyone tells me that if pregnant with a girl, you'll have sickness! Lol x

Vialarooski · 27/01/2020 15:12

@Mammasj Everyone said that to me too but i didn't have ANY sickness with her. I didn't even feel sick when i was pregnant with her. But i did crave sweet things, i was obsessed with croissants and pastry. So don't rule out a little girl just yet (wink)!
A little boy would be a lovely addition to our family but i love the thought of having two little girls
