Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

@Mammasj what do you already have? Are you hoping for girl or boy? I don't want to find out the sex at my 20 week scan. Hoping I get there 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 id love for it to be a surprise, I called up the clinic today they have a 6 pm appointment for this evening I'm so tempted to book it but also so scared at the same time. X

Mammasj · 23/01/2020 15:14

@Mrs71 I have two boys at the moment. I would love a little girl but I don't mind another boy either, I'm just happy and grateful to have a lovely brood! Lol I didn't find out the gender on either of mine, I love the surprise and after all the hard work of getting them out, there's nothing like that initial surprise and excitement 🥰 Is this your first baby? I'll be booking a private scan for next Saturday when I'm 9+1. Excited but scared too! 😬 How far gone are you? Xx

Mrs71 · 23/01/2020 15:51

@Mammasj aw that's so cute, I'm definitely not going to find out I think a surprise would be amazing. This is my first very longed and wanted baby so I'm just over the moon. Hoping everything will be ok. I'm 8+6 today. 😊 xx

IslayBrigid · 23/01/2020 15:55

@FoxtrotSkarloey thanks so much for your reply! Sounds similar to my situation :) this is my first baby so hopefully when I am on mat leave I can also make connections, do classes etc and create a little community there. I spoke with DP about my feelings and we have always had the plan to go back to NZ in a few years anyway, and he is open to going back a bit sooner if I really don't enjoy it in Wolverton (where we moved). I'm hopeful that it grows on me and I'm sure it's just teething pain. But it does feel weird being out of London, and I miss being in zone 2, and near Hampstead heath, and a short commute.
Are you pregnant again with your second??
xx

Mammasj · 23/01/2020 16:05

@Mrs71 Aww that's so special! It'll be the best surprise of your life and worth every day waiting 🥰 so lovely that we can all share these journeys! Xx

Mrs71 · 23/01/2020 19:11

This is a bit of an embarrassing question 😳 does anyone get any spotting or a bit of brown discharge after a bowel movement? xx

Zm2019 · 23/01/2020 19:31

Any 2nd time mummies feeling any flutters yet. I read that in your 2nd pregnancy you can feel them alot earlier compared to your first.
With my first I first felt hers when I was in the bath. I'm in the bath again laying very still and feel little flutters. I know alot of people say Gas, but it doesn't feel like that. I may just say its flutters to myself to make me feel happy.lol

Also do you all have a hot hot bath. I have been luke warm bath and I miss my hot bath. I'm not really sure how hot I can go.

Vialarooski · 23/01/2020 20:07

@Mrs71 I personally haven't noticed any spotting after bowel movement but it's not uncommon. I don't think it's anything to worry about :)

@Zm2019 I LOVE and need my baths to be super super hot and can't stand anything other than that so during pregnancy I don't bother having baths. Having said that, last time I was pregnant, was a super hot summer and I was a sweaty mess so actually didn't mind cool baths then!

@Mammasj yes, true victim of the cough! Perhaps it is a pregnancy symptom...definitely not one I've experienced before 😂

Hi ladies! I think it's been about a week since I last checked in here, work has been so hectic & congrats to those who have seen their little ones on scans, just now catching up on all the messages Flowers

I'm 10+4 now and honestly I'm not feeling all that much better, what about everyone at a similar stage? Feeling so drained mentally although the morning sickness feels like it's easing. So jealous of you ladies with not many symptoms!

I don't know how I'm still managing to keep it a secret from friends & people at work, but I'm sure they must have some suspicions by now since I've been sick at work Blush I'm so paranoid about showing soon with it being twins but so far so good.

Ginblooded · 23/01/2020 22:28

@Mrs71 yes, I had that the other day! Happened twice and hasn't happened since. I don't think it's anything to worry about fortunately 😊

Mrs71 · 24/01/2020 10:44

@ginblooded thanks. I was so worried, I have my midwife appointment on Wednesday will mention it to her then. It's continued this morning but it's only when I wipe nothing more. It just freaks me out.

@Vialarooski thanks. I hope it's nothing! I just hate seeing any spotting I get so worried. x

Martina2311 · 24/01/2020 12:24

Hi ladies, hope everyone is doing well :) Is anyone starting to notice growing belly? I don't mean exactly showing...but do you feel bigger yourself? I am only 8+5 but I felt bloated almost right away. I cant wear my high waist jeans anymore (haven't been wearing them for good 3 weeks now) but I also notice that my belly is not flat anymore even in the morning. I feel like my bra is slightly digging in under my boobs and I feel most comfortable with unzipped trousers 🙈 I've been also feeling a bit of pressure and sort of cramping all over my abdomen...not painful but just noticable. Feels like things are expanding or dont know how else to describe it. This is my second child so they say you even start showing earlier with further pregnancies, but with my son at this stage, I was completely flat and small.

@Zm2019 I feel a few twinges or flatters here and there and it feels nice but I keep telling myself it's probably just my digesting or things happening in there in general. I'm really curious when I will start feeling movements tho, since I also heard second time mums feel it earlier. Cant wait 🥰

mamaskelz · 24/01/2020 16:37

@Mrs71 yes I do, how many times has that happened to you?? It's so worrying, hope you're ok x

Mrs71 · 24/01/2020 18:19

@mamaskelz that's the first time it's happened. Maybe the cervix pushing old blood out? I'm not sure will mention to the midwife on Wednesday but maybe it's more common than we think. Do you get it quite often? x

mamaskelz · 24/01/2020 19:59

@Mrs71 possibly, I'm sure I had the same thing with my DS around the same time (I'm 8 weeks). I rang the EPU and they said it's very common and to rest. Xx

Mammasj · 24/01/2020 19:59

@Martina2311 yes I'm definitely growing a belly already! Don't get me wrong, I overindulged at Christmas but this is definitely not that. On my second, I had a noticeable 'bump' at 8 weeks. I had to hide it with a scarf in work. It was probably a lot of bloating too but not all bloating. Now on my third and again, my stomach has grown unbelievably by 8 weeks. My muscles are pretty much non existent after my first two so I'm guessing it's just got plenty of room to spread out 😂

I started feeling movement at 18/19 weeks on my first and 16 weeks on my second! So definitely earlier!! 😃 xx

eandz13 · 24/01/2020 20:11

Bit delayed but can I jump on? I'm 10+3 with my third and last. Interested to read about everyone else's symptoms because mine are completely different to my previous pregnancies this time! Gonna have a flick back through all comments Grin

Mammasj · 24/01/2020 21:27

@eandz13 welcome! What do you have at the moment? I have 2 boys and pregnant with number 3 (probably another boy) 😂 x

eandz13 · 24/01/2020 21:42

@Mammasj I have a girl and a boy, kind of hoping for another girl as it turned out people were telling the truth when they said boys are handfuls, but we will see! Hats off to you Grin how are you finding your 3rd pregnancy? Has each pregnancy of yours been similar symptom wise or completely different? X

Mammasj · 24/01/2020 22:17

@eandz13 oh really!!? Lol mostly everyone I know say girls are harder! 😂 I'd love a little girl but I don't think it's going to happen. I'm set to have my own football team 😅 yeah they have all been very similar to be honest, and I've been very lucky and not had many symptoms at all. Had sore boobs on the first two but not on this one but I think my boobs are numb from breastfeeding two big boys 😂 I'm absolutely shattered this time but I work full time and have two little ones so I think it's that more than the pregnancy.

How about you? Have your pregnancies been very different with the different sexes? Everyone I know says they had very different symptoms on boys v girls? Xx

Minniemee · 25/01/2020 06:36

Wondering if anyone could give me a bit of advice to get through until Monday as I just feel so anxious Sad - I've got my 12 week scan on Monday but I just don't feel pregnant anymore; other than sore boobs (that seem to developed this new thing of feeling like someone has a lighter next to my nipples!) I don't have any symptoms at all anymore, they've all gone away! I don't have any form of a bump yet and I've not put any weight on since I weighed myself at 6 weeks. Surely I should have if baby was growing as apparently it's macaroon size now! No bleeding or stomach cramps but I'm just convinced they're going to tell me it's a MMC at the scan. I won't even let my OH talk about the baby anymore as I'm so convinced and I don't want to get my hopes up. I've never suffered with anxiety but this is rotten, any advice would be so helpful. Thanks ladies xx

WorriedButterfly · 25/01/2020 07:17

Morning @Minniemee, I feel like a bit of a fraud giving you advice as I've probably been as anxious- just having a better morning. I had a reassurance scan yesterday as my symptoms had died down again, fortunately everything was fine. The sonographer said the symptoms do die down now as the placenta is taking over and the hormones start to balance, so at 12 weeks I think you'll be fine. I had a MMC last year and my big regret, as I am IVF as well, was that I didn't enjoy the short time I was pregnant for, as I thought it was the only time I would get there. So as hard as is it try and have a nice weekend, make some plans over a cup of decaf this morning with hubby and enjoy. Worrying isn't going to change anything, as the sunscreen song says it's as effective as trying to solve algebra by chewing bubblegum! (Depending on your age you might not know what the hell I'm on about!). I don't mean to sound at all patronising (& I am half writing this to myself in my head!) but stay positive, believe in your body and know that the symptoms do go on the lead up to 12 weeks. X

Minniemee · 25/01/2020 07:24

@WorriedButterfly thank you so much - I've tried to organise some plans this weekend to keep me as busy as possible so hopefully that will help xx

Jessem29 · 25/01/2020 07:53

@Minniemee aww lovely, I am so sorry you feel so anxious. I am guessing its because your scan is so close. Mine is still another 2 weeks off but I have booked a private for wedneaday! It is really normal for symptoms to come and go, I have a mmc last year and still had all the symptoms so please dont rely on symptom spotting to let you no baby is ok!. We are all the same your not alone in being so nervous. I guess this is just being a mum now haha! I really hope you enjoy your weekend. Xxx
